Seriously?
An article about what the First Lady had to eat, and how many calories it was?
By the way, her anti-obesity program is for children, not adults - just in case you missed that part. Unless Michelle is a child, there is no hypocrisy involved.
Of course, most people who whine about Michelle's anti-obesity campaign will be the first people to demand fat people be taxed more, be charged more for a flight, or just complain about the mere existence of fat people.
When Obama hatred reaches this level of absurdity, one cannot win for losing.

There is also a difference in enjoying something 'unhealthy' every so often and having it every day. There's nothing wrong with an ocassional unhealthy treat.....it's always eating unhealthy that starts the problems.

It is just another way feeble attempt to bash the Fist lady. Nothing new but very childish. We have so many issues out there and some one worries about what she eats?

While I totally disagree with the beliefs and policies of the Obama's, I find no fault for them eating and living the way they want...after all it is part of our way of life in this country.

Yes, when she tells people to do one thing and does the opposite it is newsworthy.
Probably, most people do. However, most people don't make diet a personal crusade while being a hypocrite.

The Post noted, however, that she has also admitted to having an "obsession with french fries."
We have so many issues out there and some one worries about what she eats? I kind of agree. Of course we could branch out & compare her & her husband. She has an obsession with french fries. He has an obsession with Karl Marx. She could kill herself by eating. He wouldn't do that. He's killing everybody else with bullets & bombs (including people we AREN'T at war with). When Obama hatred reaches this level of absurdity, one cannot win for losing.Boy don't you just hate it when "What goes around comes around"? Just wait until the President Obama bashing gets as bad as the President Bush bashing.

I'm sorry... it would be hypocritical if she was obese... she is not obese... moderation and occasional treats are definately part of a healthy diet/lifestyle...

Tell me what the First Lady had for breakfast and dinner the day she dined at the Shake Shack along with her breakfast, lunch and dinner the day before and the day after. If you can find out all of that, then we can discuss whether or not she exceeded her daily caloric intake.

Not obese, but she is undeniably overweight with a lot of junk in the trunk.

You're trying to say MO portrays a healthy body image? I think not. She needs to lose at least 20 pounds for that to be true, most of it in her posterior. Genetics and childbirth aside, she needs to practice what she preaches. If dietary "rules" are good enough for others, they are good enough for herself.

what she "preaches" is to teach our kids about healthy eating habits (which would include moderation and how to have the ocassional treat) and to get them more involved in their own smart food choices at a younger age.

All is well as far as I'm concerned, until the government tries to dictate what is served in schools or what parents can pack in their child's lunchbox.
If an occasional burger and fries is alright for her, then there's no harm for it to be on the school menu occasionally either, is it?

dancinmomma-Michele Obama is an adult and long out of school. When school kids grow up they too can eat at the Shake Shack if they wish.

I'm sorry, the government should not dictate the food it subsidizes? I'm with you on packed lunches... but if the government is paying for it... i guess they have some input? ... And i hadn't heard that hamburgers were off the list... do you have a link? Thanks.

You know, the last time someone was dumb enough to publish some bombastic story about the FLOTUS having gorged herself on Kobe beef and lobster at the Waldorf Astoria, the whole story was a lie. It was easily debunked when it was discovered that on the week in question when she was supposedly gorging herself in New York, She wasn't even in New York. So, congratulations on posting some BS that probably has zero basis in fact.
Secondly, the FLOTUS isn't telling you, an adult, what you should be eating. She is championing programs directed at CHILDHOOD obesity. Considering the number of children who now have to take medications for diabetes, triglyceride and cholesterol problems under the age of 18, this is a worthwhile and necessary cause to address a very serious issue.

Then the PARENT should pack their lunch... or keep them at home...
If the PARENT chooses to have the kid eat a government subsidized lunch... then the government is going to have some say in what they pay for...

Shoulda woulda coulda, but there are many parents who are not making good food choices for their children simply because they don't know how. School lunches are also a huge problem

..."why?" on which? ...that I agree with others who say let's look at this particular meal in relation to her whole calorie budget? ...or that I think the broader question is whether we should talk about it in the first place?
