She is most definitely responsible. Doesn't matter if it was direct or indirect. That's like saying (after I shoot your tires out) that you wrecked your car. The connection is clear.

There's no way anyone is trying to control what you eat by simply making suggestions. No, they are using laws instead: articles.latimes.com/2010/nov/02/business/la-fi-happy-meals-20101103"Food Justice" in San Francisco San Francisco's board of supervisors has voted, by a veto-proof margin, to ban most of McDonald's Happy Meals as they are now served in the restaurants. The measure will make San Francisco the first major city in the country to forbid restaurants from offering a free toy with meals that contain more than set levels of calories, sugar and fat. The ordinance would also require restaurants to provide fruits and vegetables with all meals for children that come with toys. "We're part of a movement that is moving forward an agenda of food justice," said Supervisor Eric Mar, who sponsored the measure. "From San Francisco to New York City, the epidemic of childhood obesity in this country is making our kids sick, particularly kids from low income neighborhoods, at an alarming rate. It's a survival issue and a day-to-day issue."

This eating healthy thing by the first lady is worse than the presidential candidate that pledged to ban what she feels we should not see, that's for sure.

Heck, even Cookie Monster now says "cookies are a sometimes food."

What a great racket though. I mean screwing people over with the guise of helping them and most of the public buys into it.

This thread was speaking, primarily, of Mrs. Obama's program to combat childhood obesity.

You don't see the relationship? That law never would have passed if the fat hysteria mania was not properly whipped into a fury and it's hypocrites like her that do just that.

This movement was in gear long before she came along. Our elementry school was forced to quit selling candy in the school in about 2003.

I get offended by the NFL's agenda to get kids to exercise. If I want my kid obese and unhealthy, that is my business.

Damn right it is. No one has any business telling you how to raise your kids. If you want to feed them bacon grease that's your right.

But, because she chooses to attempt to empower the government to take yet more freedom of choice away from parents by controlling what, when and where their children eat, she brings this type of scrutiny upon herself... Are you kidding me? Parents do that themselves... A California woman says her toy-crazy children are wheedling her into buying Happy Meals. Is that McDonald's fault — or hers? How many cities have banned toys from happy meals now?

She doesn't have any power, and her husband has no legislative authority either. He can propose laws, but those other 535 guys are the ones that make the decisions on what laws should be passed. Yes, they can influence, but they don't actually have legislative authority. Or did the constitution change recently and I missed it?

Seems like MO has too much time on her hands and needs to find another area of interest. Kids will be kids and let them enjoy. Good God, it's like Opran giving all the broad-spectrum advice on healthy eating and excercising and doesn't apply it to herself. Every metabolism is different and enough is enough!

Wouldn't posting a description of an unhealthy meal she ate kinda show she has not banned them?

Sit in the White House and keep her mouth shut. No one wants to hear her preaching her blabber. ha..ha...so true! Maybe she could visit our retired Veterans and show gratitude for what they have done. My brother is a retired veteran in DC and I have a picture of him shaking hands with with the former President Bill Clinton. First time I saw my brother wearing a suit, that is if she's still proud to be an American... ![](http://us.social.s-msn.com/s/images/emoticons/wink_smile.gif) k to you..... ![](http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/smileys/button29934414.png)
