And coincidentally we sent a large sum of cash as part of the Iran "settlement" and some hostages were freed at the same time.

Oh that's right. I forgot that eventually they did add that in that Congress had to use Obama Care. But then they added in some nice subsidies to insulate Congress from the costs. So they "exempted" themselves from most of the costs, which Joe Sixpack has to actually pay.
Either way how about we wait till we see the actual bill? Congress having to use Obamacare Care was added in later so initially the Dems tried to exempt themselves but then it was changed. Did u get ur panties in a bunch back then? So anyway this Repub plan may change too.
And regardless I wouldn't be too worried. The repubs aren't going to do anything anytime soon. They keep shouting themselves in the foot. As much as they bitched about Obama Care and that it needs to be repealed and replaced, you would have thought they would be ready out the gate with a bill........

I really do wonder if ideologues realize they are in fact ideologues (or do they think they are fair and open minded?)....I would be interested to see a psychological study
Any ways, this is such a non story, Congress gets their health care from their job so why would their health care change.
This as dumb an argument as the one Republicans made when Obama Care was first established. They claimed Dems were "exempted from the exchanges" ....well yeah, no duh because they got their health insurance from work. Why would anything change for them unless their work health policy changed?
Non issue. In BOTH case They got health care from work. Why would anything change for them unless work health policy changed?

This is beyond stupid. I don't even understand what your point is with posting this Paul?
Do you think Megyn made up the claims against Ailes?
So what she asked Trump hard questions? On Fox news they generally ask people on both sides of the aisle hard questions, not like CNN where only one side gets hard questions
Once again, what is the point?

Most are thinking we will have a Continuing Resolution for the entire year (which means we operate at FY16 levels for this year). We had do a couple of taskers like that at work the last 2 weeks.

Wow, I'm pretty sure that $600/yr is not cost effective. A new 3 Ton Unit cost me $3500 about 3 years ago - so your $600/y would pay for a new one every 6 years. We're in AZ, we had 4 houses for 35 years (rentals). Our AC units last between 20 and 30 years (the old Tappan that we replaced 3 yrs ago was over 30). I don't have them 'serviced', there really isn't much to service, the bearings are all sealed (no lubrication method), there are no belts to check. As for checking the refrigerant level, systems are all designed to shutdown if the refrigerant level drops. Some services include cleaning the coils, cleaning the fan blades, etc, but not really needed. We installed the one on our home 19 years ago, a heat pump, so it runs summer & winter. It has never been serviced. (I shouldn't have said that, now it will quit). You will notice a definite difference in your electric bill, the newer units use only about half as much power as your older 17-yr-old system. So if your AC is 20 or older, don't spend anything on it, get a new one - that money will quickly come back to you in low electric bills.
$24 / month = $288 per year...........where are you getting the $600 from??

So we are getting a new home Air Conditioner (central air conditioner for the home) soon.
The sales person recommended a service plan where they come twice a year to check out the AC and the Coil thingee near the furnace. It costs $24 a month (or you can pay yearly fee or a 3 year fee for some discounts)
Is this service plan worth it?
The current AC is about 17 years old and we are pretty sure it was never serviced. House built in 2000, we brought it in 2007 and we know we never serviced it (we didn't know we should do that, we were/ are newbie to buying nd caring for houses) and it seems to be working fine, but it's old......
So how often should the AC be "serviced"? Is the plan worth it? (approx. $24 per month)?

If the difference truly is only $1500 (which I really doubt when you add in negotiating, but let's assume that for the discussion), then yes - IMHO it's not worth buying used. BTW, research the warranty programs of the various cars you're considering because there are some details with some of them that might make a $1500 discount on a used car still very appealing... Mostly if your wife drives a lot of miles. Some of the certified pre-owned (CPO) warranties are a very good deal for high mileage drivers. Lexus is a great example of that. Standard warranty that comes with the vehicle is 4 years/50,000 miles. If you drive 20,000 miles a year, your warranty expires after 2 1/2 years. But - the Lexus CPO program - if you get an "L-Certified" vehicle means that you get a total of 6 years from whenever the vehicle was originally sold and UNLIMITED MILES! I drive 16,000 - 20,000 a year, so to have a bumper to bumper warranty that would last until the vehicle was 6 years old (by which time I'd have 100,000 - 120,000 miles on it) is pretty valuable. So if your wife drives a lot of miles, check into the various programs to see if this is a big benefit to you. BTW, I like the Soul. It's fun. Hope she gets a really wild color and has a great time in it. Well, in this case the difference is $3000...$14k-$15k used vs $17k-$18k new. I'm guessing negotiation will get similar results regardless of new vs. used, but I don't know for sure. DW drives an "average" amount...say 12,000 miles year. And we'll probably not be too picky and just negotiate on one that's on the lot. The only requirement I have is that we get the "+" version with the bigger engine (164 hp), because the smaller engine (130 hp) is a squirrel run. As far as fun colors go, I dunno...is white fun? Because it seems the best deals that I'm finding happen to be for white ones.
White ones? Dude, that's racialist

That's because of the Metric System.......
The metric system has been abused so often that those means words have no sting anymore. Hope you are happy.

"Overwhelmed" I can see ...it means having too much on your plate (to mix metaphors) and a feeling of going under but "underwhelmed" in modern day means that you are not very impressed by something....so bears no resemblance to a nautical nuance.
That's because of the Metric System.......

I think you can in Europe? That's "ueberwaeltig" in German (damn keyboard has no "umlauts which moves the "whelmed" count from 7.9 to 8.0 on the richter scale)
Europe uses the metric system not the Richter Scale.....
