When you are basically dead at 25, it can be tough to stay living.

This was a hard one to read. I know she had some troubles in the past, but heck, she was younger than me. May all your days in Heaven be happy days, sweetie.

When you are basically dead at 25, it can be tough to stay living. That's ridiculous. She had her whole life to live. The spotlight is temporary for almost all of them. Sheesh. She had opportunites to go to college, make something more of herself, etc.

A sad life. Photos I saw of her from recent years, she looked so old for her actual age. You are out of pain now.

And I would add that many of those child stars also move on to other things besides being movie/TV stars. Same with young athletes - once their time has passed, there has to be a different life than the one they led in that one particular spotlight. And good point about the money. Moran lost her home in California to foreclosure; yet she was a child star from an early age. You have to wonder who was managing her finances and where all the money went.

Yes. If you can't trust your parents, who can you trust?

All you have to do is look at those who received money, a lot of it, at an age where they weren't able to handle it. I always think football players who have very little real education and relatives galore to latch onto the meal ticket. Do you know Ron Howard's parents put his and his brother's money into a trust and supported their children on their own? Never moved out of their middle class neighborhood and the kids did sports and went to school. Granted not a normal childhood all the time but as much as humanly possible. Only 10 per cent of a child actors earnings by law have to be kept for them. I think the law ought to be 90 per cent. People who earn lots of money at too young of an age have no clue how to deal with it and too many hands out waiting to divest them from it.

I think that this more thought out now. And, I think that people have a better understand of trust funds and finances than they did when she was a star. A lot of the Disney kid stars now do very well. They move on to other things and seem to do fine.

Didn't the child actors back then get paid less as well? Like, they only got royalties for a limited number of reruns, and then nothing. Seems like I read about something like that with the Brady Bunch kids. Maybe this was addressed in the article. I tried to read it, but then it locked up on me.

Apparently Paul Peterson (The Donna Reed Show) and others were reaching out to Moran during her last week of life. Peterson started an organization in 1991 to work with/help other child actors transition into adults inside and outside the acting industry. A MINOR CONSIDERATION

Local news said she had stage IV cancer and this may have been her cause of death. That just sucks.

Guess I better burn my Scott Baio record. If I can find it. And yes, he had a record many many moons ago. I have no idea if it was actually mine or my sister's but I have it now.

It probably was a publicity stunt but she took it seriously. He always thought he was all that. I never thought much of him.

I mean like didn't you read TigerBeat? They probably dated when I was a baby/toddler. She's 20 years older than I am.
