I can see it if you're rich, but even having a personal trainer & a personal chef doesn't come anywhere close to $40,000 per month. I'm guessing shopping addiction. (By the way, if I was rich, I WOULD have a personal trainer. And, maybe a chef who only makes low-carb, healthy meals.)

Have you seen her? ETA: I'm bored enough that I went and watched the video. Botox is her biggest expense. I knew that from the time she spent on Dancing with the Stars, she couldn't make a facial expression to save her life.

Whatever the price of a box of Preference Blondism costs that month. I'm cheap and easy but a pain in the ass all rolled into one.

I don't consider myself high maintenance. I am more like that fine luxury vehicle that has a few years on it. You get what you pay for, and the more you want from it, the more you have to spend. Let's just say fixing, reconditioning and replacing my bits has gone up in price over the years, thanks to inflation. Yeah, that's it. It's not that I need more or better, just blame it on the price increases.

Way more than I care to admit but I'll likely be able to keep the withdrawal rate at 3% this year.
Biggest chunks based on last year are health insurance (10% of total), charity incl. church pledge (19%), home improvement (15%, should be less this year) taxes (7%, will be more this year) and travel (7%, also going up this year). Early next year I can start Medicare, which will cut health insurance premiums drastically and reduce my exposure to that big, ugly deductible I now have.
If I HAD to I could cut back charity and travel and some of the house stuff and live on a lot less. Did I NEED plantation shutters after I had the windows replaced (due to condensation between panes)? No, that was a "want".
The travel budget is getting a little crazy but still within the 3% withdrawal rate. I'm typing this over breakfast at a Hilton Garden Inn in Costa Rica with a breathtaking view of the city after a fantastic cruise through the Panama Canal followed by a week of snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, birdwatching and wine-drinking. They offered us $500 off our next cruise if we put up a $750 deposit, good for 2 years, refundable if you don't go. My credit card flew out of my pocket as if by magic. (Seriously- I knew they made this offer on previous cruises DH and I took and was ready for it.) Baja and the Sea of Cortez in early 2019, most likely. India booked for March 2018, Iceland this August, hoping for Scotland next summer.

It costs roughly $ 1750 to be me. That includes monthly share of property taxes, groceries, utilities, gas in my car, eating out, recreation - massage, comedy club, personal upkeep - haircut, etc. I'm a cheap date - no booze, no drugs, no boob lifts or botox lol. However, when we go to Florida, or buy things for our grandbaby, then that adds on....my health insurance comes out of my S.S. check, so that's not really an expense anymore.

I'm including property taxes, vehicle insurance, personal insurance, and extra costs for DD though she is able to cover most of hers. But I'm not complaining, our registration, property taxes, and insurance for everything of our personal stuff runs about $450 a month or $5200 a year. Our property taxes are going to skyrocket though as they are taking the burden off the farmers and putting it on the homeowners, so its going to go up several billion over the next I'm not sure how many years. Our personal ins runs $570 a month and going up annually, so biggest fixed expenses are these over $1000 a month before we start living. We can live on less if we need to but without restraints we are spending around $5 to $6k a month including the above. That allows for a good life.
And this month we really went over budget with travel and other spending for tickets to events. But that won't happen often. Then we ended up having to spend $1700 to termite our house. It's unexpected expenses that bite.
We have been living off savings for buying houses and extra expenses the last year and a half. As of year end we will take our first RMD but I expect a lot of that to go for federal taxes and we will save what we can for future expenses like replacement vehicles and such as that. This will be our first "normal" tax year so we can get a feel from now on out. We will have to pay estimated taxes annually.

My monthly expenses run about $2K/mo. That includes the personal escrow account this is my biggest expense @ $1250/mo. I live very comfortably and enjoy a good life. I'm now back to not taking any money from investments since I got disgusted and paid of the car this week.

I'll take responsibility for 1/3 of the family's monthly expenses, so 2.3K. We live in a VHCOLA! Yeah, we spend WAY too much. Livin' the high life. I swear, we used to be frugal. Edited to adjust amount. I tend to round up on our budget.

Wait. I can divide my number by three and make the kids take shares? Then it doesn't seem so bad. LOL Take out tuition, child care and college savings and basic expenses for me are a little under 3K/month, but $1600 of that is PITI When that mortgage is gone, I'll be pretty cheap to maintain.

Our monthly expenses are roughly $3,300/month, so let's say $4,000. Meggie likes to do stuff.

Damn metro areas with tons of stuff to do! It's much easier to be frugal when you aren't within a hour of 3 international airports and where you get all the good plays and concerts.

We want to wait minimally until we know if it's viable. And I know I'm going to get judged all to kindgom come about this.
