We need rain here desperately. But I'm sure the farmers finishing up harvesting wouldn't agree. But haven't had enough rain for months.
My cats are having a ball. They have a silicon toe separator they love to play with. They throw it and catch it, than bat it all over the floor. They just spent some time trying to get in a cabinet. They pull the door open and it goes back shut. They have really been playing lately. Last night they both slept with me. Smokey cuddled up and Tigger in hubs bed.

He is still on a liquid diet, he has not passed gas and they are doing an ultrasound, we hope something hasn't gone wrong. Says less than 1% have issues. He won't be picky over it being bland.

Not good, they have given hubs meds to try and help him. He said burping yes, but not the other. So after a day of this and night they are doing an ultrasound, sounds like something might have gone wrong. I sure hope not, but he said he has been walking and walking and nothing. This is not good. I'm hoping the bowel was not compromised somewhere.
He said the orders and everything are in, but I'm not sure if I can drive from out here at night. Been a long time since I have tried. Once I get to highway 41 I would be ok. I have a hard time seeing at night. Another reason we don't need to be living in the country and I will not be if alone. It's 7 and he has not be released so don't think he will be tonight.
That makes a vote for the over 55 modular or a place nearby in that area. I suppose our location is going to take care of itself by the time we are ready, though I hope its not due to hubs having some type of illness.

Well hubs hasn't answered his cell in the last 2 hours. Maybe he has it off but I doubt it. I will call the room phone but don't think he can get to it easily. His cell doesn't work right 3/4's of the time. I think DD and I will get ready to go up. I am ready, just need to tell DD to get ready. I can't believe he hasn't been able to pass gas all this time, I hope his bowel isn't compromised in some way. But sometimes I think he gets anxious over something like that and can't, he has some other issues like that.
We just had tuna salad sandwiches so likely won't want to eat out. I put some raisins in mine, never tried that before, it was actually really good.
I have been at a loss today. Didn't really want to start anything since I expected a call at any time. When I get back guess I will start sorting receipts to match up with bank statements for the LLC. Last year for that thing.
I'm nervous about flying Alaska Air now. They are the only one flying nonstop from Indi to Seattle. That one pilot is likely one in a million. But he told the flight crew he has been suffering from depression for years. And that guy was flying planes and tried to stop the engines. Thankfully he was in a jump seat, what if he had been the pilot, well I think we know how that would have ended. Damn

We have talked about this many times and this is what we are down too. Either one will work, one will give us more disposable income for whatever we want to do. The other will constrain our spending some but we will still be ok, just on more of a budget. What would you guys do? It's still likely a year or so away. We cannot sell anymore houses this year or rather not the other rental. Our house will have no potential capital gains outside the limit allowed.
We are thinking about the house purchase. Do we buy another house there or live in what we bought? If we don't no matter what we sell this one for we will have plenty of money for traveling, buying cars, and doing what we want, and even helping son. If we do we will still be able to live well as we are only spending on a house what we are selling our home and the rentals for. However, the prices are coming down up there though I think it will just be temporary and for those that have to sell and have large amounts of equity. They haven't here are still rising only because of lack of available housing. Also not as much to help son with and this is important to us. He doesn't have to have it, but would make his life easier if we do. And we don't mind at all, our kids are very important to us. The unknown is what we can sell our home for. We know what its worth but would be a small number here that could pay that much. It should sell for between $450 and $550k but I'm betting more toward the lower figure. But being realistic instead of a total of about $650 in proceeds if sold for $440 and taxes on other sales maybe $550, have computed nothing on capital gains yet. Now the prices are coming down some we might even be able to purchase for around $450, put more like $500. Just wish we knew what we could sell ours for and we still have to sell his folks place, but I'm pretty comfortable with what we can get out of it. You can sell houses here in the $100k to $140k all day long. We may have to replace some carpet and do some work on the garage, but no big ticket stuff, we have already done that. I'm just writing here what I'm thinking about. Hubs wants to stay in the modular but I would be happier there than he would, so not fair to him. And I want us both happy. If we are there I'm afraid he will drive son crazy looking for things to do. That is if his health holds. Decisions, decisions.
One way we will still have about $750k to supplement us with, the other between $1.2 and $1.3. Either way at age 77 we should be fine. And just to add to that, we are expected to use 1/3 of DD's SS income for her share of expenses on the home except for phones but we never have. Still we could if necessary.
We likely can get permission to build a small storage building to put my sewing and canning stuff in and for a work room for me. Hubs said I won't use it. Well if I don't he can and it would help sell the place. Also there is a triangle corner by the carport where he could likely expand his workshop into it for more of the things he wants to keep. Not real big but he could move shelving units we have into it and would store lots of his things. If he is still able to build he could likely do both somewhere around $5k I'm thinking. Still doesn't leave us a separate bedroom for grandson.
We are just totally up in the air on this stuff. Of course the other thing we could do is stay here and just travel back and forth like we are, but not ideal, I want to spend more time there. So would just appreciate others thoughts on what you would do. Someone might have a totally better idea.

I just changed our flight to Seattle from the 13th to the 7th of Dec. I need to talk to Apple Care for DD's medicaid. It will likely be hard to talk to someone even though earlier in the month but I will see. We will be there till Jan 10th and could stay longer if we need too so I should be able to find out some information.

In Texas we had our houses inspected. Here we don't have to.
That one has been inspected when we bought it but not treated. The technician said he couldn't treat it without signs of active infestation. Just another ripoff. But its either do what VA wants or cancel the contract, but it sure is aggravating. Our realtor said VA is a different animal, apparently. So no we have never treated it.

I hate that, wiped out a whole post again. Not sure what I am hitting to do that or if my computer just has a mind of its own.
Well will just condense it down to complaining about spending another $800 to have the sale house termitted. No active activity noted, just saw something from the past. VA apparently can do that even though the termite people told us by law can't treat without seeing active termites. The place in the past had been gutted to the studs and the original was likely built from native lumber which is harder than I don't know what.
And hubs can't come home until he passes gas. He has been up walking and said he overdid it a bit and still hasn't been able to. Our realtor said it is really hard to do a lot of times. She has had multiple surgeries and is due to have more. I have know her for years and hubs knew her from school.
DD and I were going to go up but he said wait otherwise I might have to make 2 trips up, its at least 120 miles or more round trip. I hope its not after dark as I don't do well and he can't drive yet. I'm wondering if he thinks we are going to owe a bunch and we are not. He has met his deductible of $260 and that's it, so we are good. We may go up at 4 or 5 and eat dinner on the way home. Will wait and see what happens. I have to run to town later to get a few things from the grocer later anyway.

Oh boy, the anesthesia must have been a truth drug or something.
Hubs told me the dentist said he had a suspicious place in his mouth. I couldn't make out whether he said watch it or what. I will address it later. He told me before I left the hospital. This could be the beginning of more issues I don't know how many he will deal with before he just says hell no, if its so.We will have a lot of follow up appointments for all this now.
I told the doc he will be tough to keep from doing things. I asked when he can drive and he said after the catheter is out so we are talking 7 to 10 days I think. Depends on how he is healing. Hubs said ok but it won't be long. He is so stubborn I'm afraid he will injure himself. Maybe he will be compliant, will just have to see.
I think I'm feeding my kitties and going to bed. May read in there a bit. So far the movies I have tried watching tonight just haven't been the most interesting to me.
But hubs was trying to joke with the nurses just coming out of surgery so he is ok I think.
I must admit, I still love that old guy, sometimes I wonder why, LOL! He sure aggravates me at times.

Why not expand it and then screen it in?
That way you won't have to worry about snakes and bugs, can use it at night. Ours is level with the house which is nice. It's concrete and I tiled it with the plastic stick together tile so I can just wash it down. We have our patio furniture out there and the grill and Blackstone grill so all that stuff is protected from the weather.
We have talked about windows with screens instead but its ok the way it is.

Hubs is in his room, was in recovery an hour and a half. Doc said he did well and its all good. I don't know what he meant but he said there was one sticky place on the prostrate. I started to ask what he meant and didn't.
But he looks pretty rough right now, he will be ok. He is starting to come out of it better

I have up some ghosts on the porch where the chimes were. 2 inflatables, one a pumpkin and a dragon. A skelton in a tree and 2 revolving lights with figures in them.
We don't have trick or treaters out where we live but I enjoy the decorations.
Thanksgiving is a turkey and pumpkins. Christmas a bit more elaborate. Hubs thinks its silly, I will do it long as I can.
But since covid people just don't seem to decorate like they did yet all the stuff sells out quick.

Pink, do you have a mouthguard? Another issues if you have anxiety you might grind your teeth. Mine get real sensitive when I do and after a week or so of wearing it. They feel better again. The stuff we go through with these bodies of ours.

At the hospital, hubs went in an hour early. They said that is unusual, we were happy about that, no sitting and waiting for hours. It's sad because he is so healthy otherwise, but I'm hoping it all goes well.
I sure like this hospital, with each group asked if we needed anything. They went through all the info thoroughly and so we could understand it. I have been here before and really liked it. I told hubs if I have to come anyplace quick, bring me here. Our local hospital doesn't handle stuff like this. And the HCA bunch, forget them, don't care for them.
So now its just waiting,so I had lunch, they have a very nice salad bar and other foods. The lobby area is nice all big windows and sunny.
And DD's behavioral person got her today. They were going to Olive Garden and probably Five Below. She will be a happy camper and I should be home in time to get her dinner. Hubs said just go on home, I told him I'm not about to leave him alone, if it gets to be after 6 or something, well then I have to but don't foresee that.
I hadn't really paid attention until last night. But our tempurpedic beds have lights underneath. He was wanting something on in case he had to hurry to the bathroom. The lights illuminate well and don't shine in your eyes or anything so very nice. We will use them more often.
We close on the house next week, they had it moved up as needed to termite it. Apparently never been done, guess VA required it. They are doing that today.
So as of right now, all is well. I dread his recovery, keeping him down is going to be a BIG problem I think.

His surgery is 12:30 tomorrow and he is allowed to drink nothing else after midnight. I sure hope it works for him.
DD's behavioral counselor is coming at 9 in the morning to help with DD. She gets her monthly anyway so this worked out ok.

The instructions for hubs was half a bottle of miralax in 32 ounces of Gatorade. 1/2 of 8.3 ounces. It has done nothing. This worries me as I assume they are doing this for at least a partial cleanout. I wondered about it as I have taken it and it does nothing much for me. Sure it softens the stool. He followed the liquid diet all day also.
We have reread the instructions several times so no mistaking it. Perhaps since his bowel is not involved its just for softening later. Seems weird to me.

I don't know what kind of tooth pain you have. But my teeth bother me badly at times and I brush with Sensodyne toothpaste for a few days. But maybe that is something different.
I also have a couple of types of nasal spray my doc gives to me for issues. They said flonase is non addictive so I use it a lot of nights with a breathe rite strip. She said the OTC is the same. If mine gets all stopped up, than my sinuses really get plugged and hurt. My nose is long and narrow inside, ENT guy said surgery might not help much. The strips open it wider at night so I can breathe. I think this was a lot of my problem instead of sleep apnea. So I use them every night.
Since I got my tonsils out and take all these shots for covid, flu, and everything I have had way less problems with it. Or shall I say the problems are not as severe.

My 2 kitties have killed 4 shrews and 2 snakes the last few days. They never eat that stuff, just kill it. I threw the snakes out of the garage, they are just little garden snakes. They sure like hunting them. The shrews they find around the planters I put the mums in, so they hunt right by the house.
I don't want to cook anything tonight, as hubs can't eat so don't want good smelling stuff all over the house. I just heated me up some leftover cauliflower and sauce. DD had tomato basil soup and crackers. Poor hubs had Miralax and Gatorade, then apple juice, then water this evening. He has to go till 10:30 in the morning. Then his surgery isn't till 12:30. I can't do that, my hypoglycemia would make me really sick. I try to schedule anything early as I can. I'm not sure what I do now as ozempic makes food stay in my stomach longer so issues with that. I guess I will find out in January when I have the ganglion cyst taken off my wrist.
I have spent the day washing sheets, put the new ones on our beds after washing. I had to run to town to get antibiotics for hubs. They think he has a minor infection from the urine specimen so put him on them tonight and in the morning. He finished making up our bed while I was gone. DD also received 2 new pillows and I put covers over them. I need to sort sheets again and see what we have. The motorhome has queen size so want 2 sets for it to go with it when we sell it. We have a full size bed in the basement, so will keep 2 for it. Have to see what we have for our XL twins. Need to reduce that stuff too. I brought up winter sweaters and shirts from the basement and another closet for myself and DD and I washed all of those. Getting ready for winter.
Shower time!!

I gave the cats that bit of salmon last night. Smoke nibbled on it and Mr Hungry Gut wouldn't touch it. What is it that they don't like food other animals would fight to get. No steak no nothing of real food will they eat. I know they need certain things from cat food but I would think real food would be better for them overall supplemented with cat food.
It is really nice out 72. I turned the furnace off and opened a door, hope we don't get buried in stink bugs.

I broke down and bought some of my ugly shoes again. A pair of Apex with the hard backs and sides to offer extra support. And if my orthotics won't fit in wide will have to get x wide which they have. But at $180 a pair, very pricey. I do have an older pair for daily wear and to work outside in and I have some I left in Washington. Thought I had another pair here but apparently not. Whoops, I just found a brand new pair in my one closet. And they are Xwide and just fit, so the others will be sent back. I put my good orthotics in them, I forgot how good they feel. There are others in there in an even bigger size but went with my braces I had. Wonder if I need to keep those? I no longer use my CPap either and had just bought supplies for it. I may put those free on facebook. I know that the other shoes, the very same cost a lot less like $120 or so. Unbelievable the price changes.
I've bought a lot of shoes at Walmart, the padding in the bottoms is now awesome and they have wider now, but my special orthotics don't fit. I bought some other type of orthotics but not enough support. It's sad because they are stylish. Ortho Feet seems to have gone to knit and not as supportive as I was getting from them. Likely fine for people with just flat feet but my right one is broken down so much and flays out, those just don't do enough for it.
I have been wearing these for some time and has caught up with my foot pain again. Hubs said you get them in good shape then try to wear the others again. Yes, I do. I will still wear them but not as often. I hate being so clunky looking, yes, I take pride in my appearance and like my mom always will.

Yes, pets are expensive, 3 bags of litter yesterday about $60 or so but they are big ones. Then I periodically order catfood and now we get the disposable bowls for them. Use 4 a day, but well worth it. I do need to wash their trays and clean them today.
My windows sparkles from the ammonia and vinegar. But if you look up close there are water spots on them, I will wash them again and take care of those but at least they are good and clean all around them, so that is a positive. And you really can't wash the walls down and clean them too as the water drips on them.
I'm washing the linens for our beds again and doing so in hot water. Have new sheets I'm washing for the beds. Hubs is starting his day on a liquid diet. The surgeon said protect our bed, I have all kinds of stuff for DD so no issue there. And this is sure a good time to have beds that raise and lower I have fruit juice, apple juice, soda, made jello. I also told him can fix some bouillon and tea if he wants. He is sure going to be hungry as the day goes on poor guy. Than this afternoon he has to do his prep. I wish his surgery were earlier than 10:30 for me that would be rough with my hypoglycemia. He will hang in there though. I'm so glad we are finally getting this over with. I know it hasn't been that long to wait but it is still trying.
Hubs has done everything for me he can think of. I hope everything comes out safely for him. The medical group is sure cooperative and reached out again today wanting to know if we wanted to know anything. I know that hospital has a good reputation. We all go there for anything very serious. I avoid the HCA hospital been in there, awful service.
The sun is shining brightly out and looks pretty. It's up to 62 so far. Both my kitties are out enjoying it while its still nice weather.

Well I nibbled all day.
Had some shredded wheat for breakfast, didn't have much and used it up. Coffee with that. Then a bit later some cottage cheese, pretty good stuff.
We went to the city to get things and DD had a cheeseburger, when I ran into Walmart I bought a banana and a kitkat bar. I had a couple wafers of it, hubs had the rest.
DD ate the rest of her Subway for dinner and I made hubs a baked potato, cauliflower with cheese sauce and peas and carrots. I ate some of the cauliflower and sauce with my smoked salmon. It's 4 ounces at 250 calories and I only ate about 3. Gave the kitties the rest, Smokey ate some, Tigger just sniffed at it. So I did well today on watching my eating. The steroid dose finally wore off a week or so back, that was tough.
We are getting ready for his day of liquid diet tomorrow. He does fine on things like that pretty disciplined, me I would struggle. He is sure going to be hungry Tuesday as his surgery isn't till around 10:30.
I plan on jello, he can't have milk products, but soda, and beef broth from bouillon. He can also have fruit juice with no pulp.
Good night all, my bed time. Smokey lay on my lap sleeping for an hour or two, I finally had to go to the bathroom so had to make him move. He is now in his bedroom for the night too.

I have been on hormones, premarin, ever since I had a hysterectomy. I tried natural ones and some other kinds because years ago said they were not good for me. I was in misery for those few months and I said never again. I stayed on 1.25mg for years, finally about 4 years ago I went to .625. My doc had no problem either way. I have never suffered from hot flashes or issues like that. I will likely take them till the day I die. I can't even imagine suffering like some women do, I refuse to. They even put my mom on this dose at age 82 or so as her bladder and organs were getting stiff. In a few months they helped her too.
Now they are kind of backtracking and saying they do help unlike they said some years back.

That was our problem, hubs drinking. He told me noone will quit until they decide they need to do it.
It took hubs 13 years and a DUI arrest before he did. Ended up a with a years probation and they let him know if he screwed up he would go to jail. I think he was in shock and finally quit. But it was years before I could except it. Everytime he worked late, or was late coming home, I just knew he was drinking again.
But also what helped us was being 1000 miles away from his drinking buddies. If we had not been away from them I don't think he could have or would have ever quit. It was the best thing he ever did. After that he started improving his lot in life a ton. He started moving up that ladder and with the progress I got more confident in him and I think he did too.
It's been years now probably close to 35 at least. Was better for all of us.
I know from experience you can't nag them into stopping, has to be their decision, good luck.

I like him in shows, that man is just soooo good looking. Wonder how he is in real life. But he is a hunk for sure.
But I also like Dolph Lundgren and Schwarzenegger but he got tarnished pretty good after what he did. A kid with his housekeeper that looked just like him, wow. Makes one wonder about some of these people.
I was just thinking about divorces. In mom's family out of 11 kids only one got divorced, her younger brother and he didn't want it. But it sounded like it was his fault. But I'm sure being catholic had something to do with it, though women back than had a hard time making it alone.
And in dads, he had one sister married 5 or so times, she lost her only grandson to the inlaws and grieved about that her whole life. She got a good guy the last one and lived a very good life.I think she was pretty wild, LOL! However, he also had a grandfather that ran off and left his wife and kids and the one he ran off with did the same. A pretty good scandal back than I guess. Enough so that the family denied knowing much of anything about him.

That's why we never got LTC coverage. We knew several folks that the premiums just kept going up so they eventually had to drop it after paying in for years.
And I'm not getting a divorce, I'm perfectly happy with my old guy. We have been together a long, long time. Even for the years before we got married and he was in Vietnam, so close to 60 years altogether. Too much training invested in him to give up now, LOL! So I will just keep him.
Night all, it is after 3, been watching a series and doing crossword puzzles, but time to finally hit the sack.

My husband and I have our moments. There were years it was bad, the worst being our first years of marriage. But I can say since he retired he has been really nice for the most part. I have to remember none of us are perfect, not him, not me.
He has mellowed so much, like today he helped pick up the debris. He filled the softener bin and checked on cat litter, so I'm going to pick some up tomorrow and he will unload it. He is still working on the boat for son getting it ready.
And I was so tired tonight I could hardly move so hubs went to town and bought us dinner. I was going to and he said its ok, I will.
I got the front of the house washed down, it looks so nice and the porch out there. I also got the furniture and screened in porch in the back washed down too. Everything is clean now and ready for winter. I will wash the windows again but I used vinegar and ammonia in water and they sparkle but I can see water spots on them. I added the d/w rinse to the water for the back and they came out better. I would have taken the screens off and cleaned them right but I don't have that kind of energy anymore. I no longer can do what I used to in a day sadly.
I told hubs I want to get the landscaping done like the neighbors. They had a landscaping company in town come out and fix theirs with plants that need little work and use crushed rock instead of mulch. They fixed it where weeds don't grow through. Live here or sell it, it needs this done, it won't be cheap that's for sure. But if we are here I will have them come spring and fall and take care of it. I'm getting to old to maintain all this stuff.
Hubs finished putting the mulch plate on so I can mow leaves, can't say that will be my favorite thing to do. But he won't be able to for awhile, so I will help.

I had to come in and power up. I trimmed shrubs out front, cut down the hostas, hubs raked and picked up the debris for me. Got the front washed down except one section about 12 X 15 and a window, I spilled my bucket of cleaning water, ammonia, and vinegar but it was filthy anyway.
I'm going to the wagon, than finish that wall, and some of the hostas I missed so cut them. Then to the back porch. I just washed windows screens and all with the RV brush and let the wind dry them, should have put dish washer rinse in the water, but they look darn good. They are supposed to tilt in but I've broken a couple doing them and hubs thinks they were put in too tight. So its a chore doing them, they sure are shining anyway.
It's 75 out but the wind feels cold. But since I'm working its ok. I want to get finished as how many more warm days will we have. A lot of the trees are pretty colors this year, first time in awhile, but not like I have seen them. Still not bad.
I had to come in drink some orange juice, eat some raisins, to get some sugar boost so I could continue. My tank was running on empty as I'm pooped. Probably another hour or two and I'm done. Sure does look better.
