On the other hand , why not, what she wants...my heart goes out to her, the poor thing. Personally I feel the man should be put down like the animal he is. Why give him the ability to do this to another woman that rejects this sicko? Death by stoning or lethal injection!

Nor have I ever said that all Muslims are terrorists. What I say is that they have every intent as stated in Sharia law of in forcing Sharia law on every country thy inhabit. This battle is being waged in European countries today. Their Imam in have stated this publicly many times. Any one not Muslim is an infidel and must be converted or dispatched. Just this weekend in Fla. an Imam-in and sons who by all accounts were peaceful citizens were arrested for sending funds to the taliban over a period of time. peaceful? You decide. Tell that to those who have been beaten in France for simply walking through a Muslim neighborhood carrying a bottle of wine. Handyman I do not agree with you that everyone who is not a Muslim is an infidel and must be converted or dispatched. The Quran states Surah 60 verse 8 Allah does not forbid you respecting those who have not made war against you on account of your religion, and have not driven you forth from your homes, that you show them kindness and deal with them justly;surely Allah loves the doer of justice. Yes I agree the Quran also states about killing the infidels but if you compare it in context , those were the times of war. Islam was a new religion and was under attack by Christianity. So during the times of war yes the Muslims were instructed to kill the infidels. But if you are going to quote Quran out of context of course you can twist the words . But I still understand this is not your fault , you are fed this by the media.

George Washington Univ adds female-only swim hours for Muslims Kansas City YMCA segregates pool for Muslim women, so does MIT North Carolina aquatic center says yes to sharia law – makes public pool private for Muslim women Oregon Muslim requests women-only swim times, female lifeguards UK: More Muslim women-only swimming sessions Amsterdam: Muslim women demand men be banned from pool More sharia compliant swimming pools for Muslim women in UK London pools enforcing sharia law for non-Muslims UK: Muslims force infidel swimmers into sharia, darkness Australia: Bare skin banned at public pool to appease Muslimshttp://creepingsharia.wordpress.com/2011/03/08/city-of-edmonton-launches-sharia-compliant-women-only-swimming/ Go to that link to open the above links if interested. Krickitt I understand that it is morally wrong to have only Muslim swims and non Muslims were not allowed. Let me tell you this, I graduated from a christian school, St. Michael High School. In my school there were several events and meets only reserved for Christians. Its not that big of a deal. I later found out that events were reserved for christians only because there was preaching about christianity. The Missionaries didnt want any one to confuse that they were forcefully trying to convert people to Christianity, hence it was reserved for Christians. Why do you think it is wrong If I ask for Muslim only swim or Women only swim. America is beautiful because no matter what religion you are, you can practice it without any resistance. This is why I love America, beacuse I know even though it is a Christian state , I am fully protected and can practice Islam as I please. THATS WHY I RESPECT AMERICA. So if I want to arrange for a Muslim only swim, or a female Muslim only swim. Maybe I am going to preach or teach good things about Islam before the swim starts. I dont want any non-Muslim to be allowed because I dont want them to feel like I am shoving my religion down their throat.

Sharia Law is not that different from the law we follow today. Infact it is almost similar to any law followed today , Biblical laws are almost similar too.
Beheading is mostly reserved for murder, just like capital punishment.
Stoning is reserved for adultery. Tell me this polygamy is not allowed in US but there are no laws regarding cheating on your wife. I can cheat all I want and not get any punishment for it. Adultery is also not according to Bible. As a good Christian you are not allowed adultery. It is one of your ten commandents. Islam just punishes you if you are an adulterer, Is the punishment severe ? Yes absolutely . But if you are not an adulterer you are not going to get stoned , simple. This is what the Bible also teaches us.
Chopping of arms is for people who steal, thieves. But before the act is carried out the victim is reminded that Allah loves mercy and maybe he should be merciful towards the thief.
Homosexuality is frowned upon and there are severe punishment for it. So does the church, the church doesnt like homosexuals either. So if you are a good christian then ofcourse you have a problem with it too.
MY FRIENDS DEZI, KRICKITT,HANDYMAN ETC THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A GOOD MUSLIM OR A GOOD CHRISTIAN. IF YOU FOLLOW THE QURAN OR THE BIBLE STRICTLY YOU WILL BE VIEWED AS AN EXTREMIST IN EITHER RELIGION. I DO NOT AGREE ON SOME SHARIA LAWS LIKE FOR HOMOSEXUALS. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND IF ALL YOU GUYS CONSIDER YOURSELF GOOD CHRISTIANS THEN YOU HAVE SAME PROBLEM AS GOOD MUSLIMS.
Do I want sharia law in the US. No. If I want to practice Sharia law I will move to a country where Sharia law is practiced. The reason millions of Muslims are in US because we enjoy our freedom protected by the constitution.
There is no threat of Sharia law in the US but the media portrays it. But I am all for freedom of religion , If my wife wants to wear a hijab I dont see no reason why it should be not allowed .
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA IS KNOWN FOR ITS FREEDOM, BY TAKING AWAY MY FREEDOM OF RELIGION ALL YOU GUYS ARE CONTRADICTING THE VALUES THIS COUNTRY WAS FORMED FOR.

I understand what you're saying, dawood, but there are mitigating circumstances to which we're all exposed if we choose to live in a country that is different than that which our culture might dictate. I lived in Islamic countries for many years. While there, I was careful not to offend local beliefs and customs. I felt that was my responsibility since I chose to be there. The same is true of those who choose to live here but have customs that are different from the norms in this country.
Full body coverage is not acceptable in this country. That's why people object to this sort of dress in certain places. In the home, or at private affairs it should never be a problem. However, nobody should go into a bank, or any public place dressed in full body coverage. Here, it is the custom to be able to see the face, and to be able to discern the gender of the person with whom you are dealing. That is our culture and should be respected by those who choose to live here. Honor killings are, of course, against the law here. While there is freedom of religion, there is also the culture of our people to be considered, just as I had to respect the culture of the people of the countries I chose to live in. There is give and take.

BTW, i just wondered if any of them were doing "honor killings' amongst each other and other men. I guess they just reserve that special honor only for killing women and children. Why don't they extract this brand of justice on one another? And, recently, 2 mothers killed their own daughters in "honor killings'. Not sure how it is 'honorable' to kill one's own wife and offspring or anyone else for that matter. Why don't you all look at the state of women and children under this type of system and tell me it doesn't frighten you. Snerd yes it does frighten me , but how many honor killings take place. Out of 1.2 billion Muslims you are stuck on few hundred families who carried out the honor killing. I dont even know, maybe they are sick in the head. If I lived in Iran I am going to make sure that nobody in my family commits adultery. But I live in US and follow the law here , as do so many other Muslims. But if something happens in Iran we have to answer why Muslims are so primitive, Islam is so violent etc. The people there are following the law of their country . Why is it a surprise to you.

Is this constitutional?---- "EXCLUSIVE: Herman Cain Tells ThinkProgress ‘I Will Not’ Appoint A Muslim In My Administration ThinkProgress filed this report from the Conservative Principles Conference in Des Moines, IA.
As the Republican presidential nomination process begins, one GOP candidate is making a name for himself as the Islamophobia candidate: Herman Cain.
Earlier this week, Cain gave an interview to Christianity Today in which he declared that, “based upon the little knowledge that I have of the Muslim religion, you know, they have an objective to convert all infidels or kill them.”
ThinkProgress caught up with the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza today at the Conservative Principles Conference in Des Moines, Iowa, to discuss his comments further. We asked him, in light of his statements on Islam, would he be comfortable appointing any Muslims in his administration. Rather than skirting the question or hedging his answer, as most presidential aspirants are wont to do, Cain was definitive: “No, I will not”:
KEYES: You came under a bit of controversy this week for some of the comments made about Muslims in general. Would you be comfortable appointing a Muslim, either in your cabinet or as a federal judge?
CAIN: No, I will not. And here’s why. There is this creeping attempt, there is this attempt to gradually ease Sharia law and the Muslim faith into our government. It does not belong in our government. This is what happened in Europe. And little by little, to try and be politically correct, they made this little change, they made this little change. And now they’ve got a social problem that they don’t know what to do with hardly.
The question that was asked that “raised some questions” and, as my grandfather said, “I does not care, I feel the way I feel.” I was asked, “what is the role of Islam in America?” I thought it was an odd question. I said the role of Islam in America is for those that believe in Islam to practice it and leave us alone. Just like Christianity. We have a First Amendment. And I get upset when the Muslims in this country, some of them, try to force their Sharia law onto the rest of us.

As dawood says, honor killings aren't all that common amongst Islamic people. When one occurs, we ALWAYS hear about it. It is done, mostly, by those who are uneducated and primitive in their thinking and beliefs. This is changing, but change comes slowly no matter where we live, or what our culture.

Not at all. Everyone in this country is supposed to be subject to the laws of the country. There is no contradiction. If muslims want to live here and be subject to our laws, then fine. If they choose to honor kill, then they can go to the chair. I am surprised that you had to write this down. Any sane citizen will understand that honor killing is not allowed. I am here because I don not agree with honor killing . This concept is so hard for you to grasp. How many incidents of honor killing took place in the US. One two three. But its funny how you link these incidents of honor killings with all the Muslims that live in United States. As if all of us would love to to chop heads of our wife and kids. For you Muslims=Honor killings, this I dont understand, I am pretty sure you are well educated. What kind of information you have been fed over the years that lead you to believe that .

I don't understand this kind of thinking, either, dawood. The vast majority of Muslims I've known have been wonderful, giving, loving people. I've been in their homes and they've been in mine. We've shared meals, and thoughts, and the love of family. Some, I've stayed in touch with for over twenty years. Why some want to demonize all Muslims because of the actions of a few is a mystery to me.

That's true, Snerdley, so what's the problem? It's true now. It's been true. Our laws preclude honor killings and the like. Those who break them are punished according to our laws.

If adultery is a crime then why the governor of New York wasnt tried in court to put his wife and children thru that. ssdawood-archaic laws citing adultery as illegal need to be erased from the books. Just like homosexual sex is legal in the United States (Lawrence v. Texas) yet several states have still not erased the sodomy laws from their books even though they are not enforceable.

US is a democratic state. We are not influenced by religion. I have seen some posters calling US a christian nation, but maybe I am wrong . Majority of people are Christians but still the nation is not.
We are secular as far as I think. Why cant I cover myself in clothes , Now if the US declares itself a Christian state and passes the law then ofocurse I am going to follow it.
Also there is no US culture. US culture is a mix of all cultures all over the world. Therefore US is number one in the world , people from all countries , Religion live here.

Nobody is trying to demonize all muslims. They can practice their religion in this country free from interference. However, they cannot engage in practices that are illegal and neither can Christians or atheists or anyone else. I totally agree with you on this. But this is not how you sounded, you did try to demonize all Muslims. You probably need a Muslim friend , Maybe I am ever in the area I will take you out for a drink lol. Islamaphobia or not Syria and the MB are in direct conflict with Israel as I type. MB is gaining control of the middle east and aligning itself with Iran. You really do not have to be a rocket scientist to see what is coming . Phobia or not they despise the US and Israel. I am not afraid of Sharia law. Islamic moderates are.

I don't know what the problem is, i didn't start the post. However, i would opposed to having special laws and creating a situation where others had their own laws and weren't somehow subject to the same laws everyone else is. I don't understand why you're so concerned about this, Snerdley. Has this occurred here in the US? If it has, I'm not aware of it. I think most people would oppose having laws created that supercede our own laws. In fact, I don't really think that would be possible under our form of government and with our legal system.

While many Muslims don't follow Sharia law, and don't care for some of the precepts, that doesn't mean they don't respect the teachings of Islam. Some of our laws are based on the laws of Hammurabi, just as some of the Sharia laws are based on those same laws. I may not agree with all of our laws, but I follow them ... not out of fear, but because I know it's right to do so.

FACTS: From your Muslim Brothers to You. All dedicated to sharia law and its teachings!September 2001: Sept. 11 hijackers lived in South Florida:
Several of the 9-11 hijackers, including ringleader Mohammed Atta, spent time in South Florida while planning the Sept. 11 attacks. They bought memberships at a Delray Beach gym, rented homes in Boynton Beach, Hollywood and Deerfield Beach, trained at flight schools in Lantana and Opa-locka, and drank at a bar in Hollywood.
Dec. 23, 2001: Shoe bomber subdued on Paris-to-Miami flight Richard Reid boarded Miami-bound American Airlines Flight 63 in Paris with explosives hidden in his shoes. He tried to destroy the trans-Atlantic flight carrying 198 passengers and crew, mostly Americans, but was subdued by other passengers. Reid is serving a life sentence after pleading guilty.
June 11, 2002: "Dirty Bomber" Jose Padilla charged:
Padilla, who lived in South Florida for much of the 1990s, was accused of plotting to detonate a radioactive "dirty bomb" on U.S. soil. Although Padilla never was charged with that crime, he was convicted in 2007 for supporting violent Islamic groups overseas from a South Florida support cell and sentenced in January 2008 to 17 years and four months behind bars.
June 16, 2002: Adham Hassoun, tied to shoe bomber, is arrested:
Adham Hassoun, a former Sunrise computer programmer and Padilla's recruiter, was convicted in August 2007 of providing funds, supplies and recruits to support radical Islamic groups fighting in overseas conflicts. According to prosecutors, Hassoun recruited Padilla at a Broward County mosque in the mid-1990s to join a South Florida terror cell with links to al-Qaida.
September 2009: South Florida called epicenter of terrorism cases:
"South Florida is the epicenter of terrorism cases," Jeffrey H. Sloman, acting United States attorney, Southern District of Florida, said during a conference on "Combating Domestic Terrorism and Extremism" put on by Sloman's office, the Anti-Defamation League's Florida region and Broward College in September 2009.
August 2010: FBI declares Adnan G. El Shukrijumah top terrorist:
Adnan G. El Shukrijumah, a federal fugitive and former Broward Community College student who lived in Miramar with his mother and five siblings, has become head of global operations for al-Qaida. The FBI told The Associated Press that it marked the first time a person so intimately familiar with American society had been put in charge of planning attacks, and that El Shukrijumah's new position had him in regular contact with al-Qaida's senior leadership, including now-dead Osama bin Laden.

I can understand why these people might live in south Florida, jarhead. It's hot. That's what they're accustomed to. There's lots of sand, and not a lot of forested area ... again, what they're accustomed to. It's humid, as are some areas of the Middle East. A lot of it is dry desert, but not all. Same reason you'll find populations from certain areas of Europe in certain areas here. It's more like their home, so they feel more comfortable there.
I'd like to see a study of how many people involved in terrorism (Muslim, or otherwise) live in other parts of the country. I believe some of the highjackers of the 9/11 airlines were trained in Arizona, if I remember correctly. That's another area with weather that would be more familiar, therefore comfortable to them.

However, our laws are there for a reason. The reason one cannot cover oneself completely in this country is due to the levels of crime we have here. A person covered from head to toe, with face not visible and gender not readily identifiable, cannot be identified if he/she commits a crime. Head to toe robes can very easily be used to hide weapons in the case of robberies, or murders. Retail establishments, hospitals, banks, etc. use cameras to record activity in these establishments. These are rendered useless in the case of head-to-toe coverings. Clothing such as this could easily hide a white American committing a crime that might be blamed on a Muslim. That's why they should not be worn in public places where crimes are often committed. It's for the protection of everyone.
