I'm buying tags for the cars and insurance.
I hate January even if it is my birthday month!

Probably a root canal. Currently in throbbing pain. Knew I needed one but have been irrationally avoiding it. Don’t currently have a dentist so hopefully I can self refer to an endodontist. 😖 I have a fairly local dentist I can recommend. Got one done on the 28th...4 more scheduled. Don't recommend growing up poor without fluoridated water. Yes, please!!! PLEASE PM me your dentist’s info. The kids were seeing a pediatric dentist in Lynnfield but have aged out, so we might as well all make the switch. Also, who did your root canal? 4 more, really?? 😱

I need a new dentist too. I went to one in Reading but eh. And you hauled ass all the way up to Lynnfield for the DENTIST?!?!?! You be crazy!

You be crazy! YDS is allergic to latex (which was often found in gloves, medical equipment, bands for braces, etc.). Years ago, before most medical and dental offices went latex-free, we needed to take YDS to a dentist who worked with special needs kids because he was the only dentist we could find that was already latex-free. We just stayed with him until the kids aged out.

I spent most of my time snapping them at people so deep thoughts in junior high were not really happening.

Seriously, those were my 2 choices years ago.

Up 'till college she didn't seem to find it too difficult to avoid (and this was in the '70s and '80s so before the current hyper awareness of allergies) but as a college student she realized one other key item that is made of latex... condoms. Dang.

Dyson animal vacuum cleaner. My old one is 11 years old and has seen better days. I traded in the Kitchen Aid mixer I got for the vacuum.

That is a tough way to find out. Can't remember how my sis discovered it since she knew since she was very young - bandaids maybe? She'd had a serious reaction a few times and was smart enough to know condoms would be a good thing to avoid. Crossing my fingers that your reaction was at least slightly delayed...

My son recommended an HP laptop I have had a year now and it does all I need. I do my spreadsheets and quickbooks on my big desktop, this one was only little over $300.

I just changed my autopay for my SS supplement from annual to monthly, went up over $400 so is $2200, told them to take monthly premiums only for awhile.
Insurance is going to kill us as time goes on, sure it is all SS folks.
Right now Me Part B $189.60 Penalty Drug 12.40 Part B 54.10 Supplement $176.15 Drug 52.10 Total $484.35 the penalties will drop off after this year
Hubs Part B $189.60 Penalty Drug 12.40 Part B 54.10 Supplement 139.49 Drug 15.50 Total 411.09 Penalties will drop off after this year
But I'm sure the increase in ins will offset it. I'm embarrassed to say how little SS I have left out of it. Quitting early and taking it at 62 killed me. Any of you thinking of taking SS at 62 needs to seriously rethink it unless you have millions saved.
So this is what I'm buying after Christmas.

I usually can't buy too much since I pay my property taxes in January (just paid it yesterday...yech!) But GOG.com has been having some great deals on computer games for the past couple weeks so I've found myself spending some money I hadn't planned on - luckily it is just small $5-$10 stuff

I am determined to buy a new car this year. I am finding driving is becoming more harrowing as I get older and slower, so I want a car with all the new safety and driver assistance features. There are too many choices and I am having trouble making up my mind. It may take me all year.

I've decided I really need a Kate Spade wristlet, even though Santa (aka me) brought a new purse for Christmas. Now I just need to decide on a color. No neutral black/gray/tan purses for me.

The only thing I'm buying because I didn't receive it is a pair of cordless hair clippers. It was on the in-law's list, and they got me a cordless beard trimmer...which is nice...but isn't going to cut it when it takes me an hour to do my entire head. The beard trimmer is nice, I'll keep it and use it, but I'll buy myself the clippers.

I bought an ear scope that plugs into the computer and a cleaning kit like the docs office has for our ears. Cleaned DD's and mine, hub couldn't stand it. Tough guy.

I bought a hydroflask because I forgot my husband filled mine before our international flight, and I tried to take it through domestic TSA, and we were sprinting to the gate to catch our connection.
Such a stupid rule. And I lost my favorite water bottle, and cursed at a poor TSA agent who is working without pay. Not my shining moment.
