I googled 'what would you call a born-again Christian who wants to deport American homeless to cold, foreign countries' but didn't get anything.

in the 60's, apparently it was common practice to send the homeless from LA to Hawaii on a one way ticket. Fucking brilliant. We should pick up that practice again, only make it someplace OUTSIDE the borders of the United States. And colder. how about that Randian island that Glenn Beck wants to build?

If I could make sure they'd stay there I'd pop for the tickets. if someone could afford a ticket back, that is their business. but i think you missed the point.

Yes and now Hawaii is ruined and tourists complain like hell. Oahu is overrun. Too bad. I remember when NYC sent them to Florida. By the time the aclu started whining, most were gone. Kids and I sure enjoyed NYC that year. Florida is still reeling from the onslaught.

I say to you anyone born on this planet has a right to obtain food, water, shelter, clothes, land without having to play by the rules that other people put in place without the authority to do so- other than as you like to say- by the point of a gun.
And to really get you going I think every person on this planet has a vested right to a cut of the proceeds of any natural resource that has been monetized. Oil, gas, gold, etc. You know where I am going. NOBODY really owns anything in this world except by the rules the 'owners' put in place

I am out of my element on this- just have my thoughts- but I did take a class in college- modern political thought- and all we read was Hobbes, Machiavelli, etc.
That was 24 years ago and we held class a few times in the local pizza shop with pitchers of beer It was a simple intro class- but the final exam was to write a 10-20 page explanation of whether the ends justify the means using the writings discussed. I argued they did not and pulled an A out of it. At that point in my life I did not vote- didn't care.
To be completely honest at that point I was a twisted republican- I was a member of the NRA and the Sierra Club- I thought Bush would be OK and I was sure the democrats were out to take my guns and wreck the planet- I got a Limbaugh book for XMAS. Then one day I talked to a customer at my work and he asked me- so why do you want to vote republican- and I had my quick answer down pat about small government and all, the gun grabbing, etc. That night I understood I had been worked- I looked into it. I had no idea what the hell I was voting for- I chose a side- and I never felt so stupid in my life.
Not ragging your choice either- but people need to learn the majority of this country is not opposed to each other.

I think PBP is venturing into do you own your own labor- and I guess the answer is so far......
Of course many wealthy capitalists did own people- so again nobody owns anything other than what the law/dictator/king/etc. allows them to own.

EVT: have you heard of the "worthy -vs- unworthy victims" argument? i think it is actually CENTRAL to conservative thought. I did find a book I will be adding to the library list- and the only thing I really found was Chomsky on the media and propaganda campaigns- that doesn't seem like what you were referring to.
www.chomsky.info/onchomsky/199607--.htm
It appears that there is a lot more to the 'lamestream' media than meets the eye....

Hmm! Send the "lazy" in a cold place outside US borders! That IS a good idea is just that someday by a leap of faith or a bad turn in your luck you might become "lazy". Not all those described as such are there by choice if any. For you to be where you are at you had to take advantage of certain things in life such as educational/training opportunities or investments for that matter. What if in doing so you just indirectly pushed someone into the lazy category? Say by investing your money into GE at the point when they decided to stop manufacturing in US laying off thousands of people? many of those became "lazy" as you call them just because not everybody has the same drive. Now, karma is a bitch and someday your investments might go in the pooper thously so making you poor and if you are at the end of your fight you might become lazy. Do you still wanna send the lazy in the far north or you're good with them around? Newton's second law: "for any action there is a reaction!" Aplies to life too so beware of a possible reaction!

Is there any point when the Obamas could stop bellyaching and say something GOOD about America and just be happy that they were put back in the White House 2x? Wow.

Yup. should be relatively easy for a person like you to speak on the subject without even MENTIONING God. That still gets into a Religion/Theology discussion that I WILL NOT get into here. Period. Bait me to do so all you want, but it will not happen.

Yes, he is temporary hired help. You must have brown eyes because you said everyone who posts on 'P&M' have brown eyes because they are full of crap and it goes up to their eyes. I haven't read all the pages in this thread but this topic is why I've sworn off the P&M board.
I think everyone there has brown eyes ....... that's how high some of the cr*p goes.
But it's the name of the game and most of the time I can laugh about it.
