I cant wait for November 2012. I am getting tired schooling liberals. Here is the Black unemployment and Hispanic UE numbers. Why they vote for Liberals is beyond me. Like Mexican friends say to his fellow Mexicans in Pilsen / Chicago: " Vota estúpida, se merece el dolor y el sufrimiento" - Vote stupid, you deserve to suffer. www.dol.gov/_sec/media/reports/hispaniclaborforce/

Your regurgitating rubbish from Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh isn't "educating" anyone, Paul. But it's interesting that you perceive yourself to be "The Great Educator"... it's rather grandiose of you.

Sure thing, Professor Self Declared Victory.
Isn't that the "language of the ghetto," according to your pal, Newt? You know, the guy who has absolutely no concept of the working poor. Gee, I just can't imagine why minorities don't like Conservatives.
So what's the Conservative plan, well other than the old cut taxes for the rich routine? And so you're saying minorities are stupid enough to be brainwashed by the Democratic Party, an organization you seem to see through rather quickly, but somehow, minorities just can't seem to figure it out and have been tricked for decades. Why don't you "school" us on why that is, Prof.?

I'm always surprised when middle class conservatives vote against their own financial self interest... so if it is any comfort, the electoral process is a mystery to us all.

Uh, maybe because liberals promise all those freebies that taxpayers pay for? I don't vote against my best interests and since we allow those that don't have skin in the game to vote, what do you think they will do? Vote for those who say work? Not bloody likely. I don't vote for anyone tht says raise taxes, either, but that is because I pay those taxes.

Do you oppose raising the taxes you don't pay? That stuff puzzles me.
You'd be surprised how many folks with an effective federal tax rate under 15% that think a flat tax is a great idea. The people with no savings to pass to their heirs who oppose a "death tax." The people of only moderate wealth who oppose the Buffett rule.
ETA: Nonsmokers who oppose tobacco excise taxes. People with only earned income who oppose raising the capital gains tax. I could go on...

I've generally voted democrat because the national republican candidates seem way too interested in what's happening in my bedroom and uterus and neglecting what's happening to my wallet. I do not vote party line, though.

Because people vote on a variety of issues. Democrats support programs and ideas that hispanics and african-americans find appealing like liberal immigration policies, welfare, medicaid and affirmative action.

Yes, self serving policies that others must pay for. I agree with you.

While I'm not a Democrat, I've voted for Democrats in the past because I do support things like Medicaid for those who need it, welfare for those who need it, and other liberal programs that benefit people whose means are lacking. I certainly don't support these programs because they serve me. They don't. I don't need them. Others do. Now, who is it who's being self-serving ... again?

Frankly, lonewolf, I don't care what you pay for. I do use my money, and my time, to provide services I feel are needed. I don't whine about it, either. I also don't call others self-serving because they don't want to pay for such services. That's a two-sided mirror you're holding.

Yes, just as it's right for you to ask ME to pay for programs that YOU want to provide. That is the nature of a democratic society. I don't support any program that allows some to live off of the sweat of others. The point wasn't what you don't support. The point was what you do support I pay for that I don't want to pay for.

i don't want to pay one cent for our so-called "defense", which is actually an imperial army, and has been since WW1. i pay for it because most other people DO want to pay for it. and since i live in a country where the majority have the right to decide what we do and don't do with our revenue, i abide by that.
i am guessing there are a lot of Romneys out there that have similar feelings about the poor.

The point wasn't what you don't support. The point was what you do support I pay for that I don't want to pay for. You tell me. There are many expenditures of moneys made by government which I do not support. I do not know exactly what expenditures you support so I can not tell you on which ones we would disagree.

And why are there so many minority poor in America? Illegal immigration from Central and South America has a big part in it.The mass majority of illegals have little education, some do not even speak English. Not exactly going to fall into a $50,000 a year job.
I have an idea. Round the illegals up, send home, and we lower the number of poor people here in the states, to a more manageable number. Of course we would have to lay off some emergency staff crews in the hospitals, as number of visits for free care would tumble.

Perhaps, Value Buy, where you are the hospital ERs see lots of illegals. Here, not so much. Most of our free ER care goes to 20- and 30-somethings with no insurance, and they're pretty equally divided with regard to race and skin color.
That said, I'm not a supporter of illegal immigration being ignored, either. In some states, it's having a huge negative impact. Something definitely needs to be done.

Perhaps we should round up and shoot all those with disabling diseases, as well. Then, all these mooching folks won't have their hands in OUR pockets, the ungrateful whelps!

I'd be willing to bet our local hospital did not treat more than 10 illegal aliens last year out of 20k ER visits, and if they even treated that many, they were either state prison inmates or farm hands.

Severely developmentally disabled people are often are supported wholly by the government be cause nodoby else can or will. Should we kill them? No! This is what charities and families are for. What if the family can't pay? Do you even know what it costs to care for them?

Severely developmentally disabled people are often are supported wholly by the government be cause nodoby else can or will. Should we kill them? No! This is what charities and families are for. No. This is what humanity is for. This is why those of us who want to help the less fortunate don't mind paying extra taxes to do so. What I've seen in many charities is those who run the charity papering their pockets. In that way, they don't differ much from our congress. Additionally, not everyone has family who can support them for life; nor, does everyone have family at all. Some are alone out there, lonewolf. Alone, homeless, frightened, sick and abused. Do I want to help? Yes, I do. I've lived a very fortunate life. I'm able to give back, and I feel it's my duty as a human being to do so.
