PI- do you think Obama was US born? if not, do you seriously think that his parents planned to make him a Manchurian Candidate in 1958, when Jim Crow was still in full bloom, and over half the states had laws against mixed marriages? They never can seem to explain that... too much HG Wells, i am guessing.....

quote author=djlungrot board=politics thread=10321 post=418639 time=1308935998] Yes, he is a fraud, as he did not have sufficent background experience to be experise in any area of the highest office in the land. House Minority Leader Eric Cantor pulled out of WH budget talks led by the VP saying the 2 sides have reached an impasse over tax increases. A congressman from the floor asked, "Where's our President"? BO had no experience in the field of economics, never ran a business in the private sector, oblivious to economic growth, balancing the budget or new energy resources. Resorting now to printing money and moving it around to cover our loans. He can do a lot of damage in 1 more year and believe he does not even realize the dire conseqences ahead if he doesn't wake up. As Steve Wynn said, people in Vegas live in fear and uncertainty every day one of highest states with house foreclosures. If we have to default on our debt, that will be the end of the American dollar. I do not think this even concerns BO or he would be more intense on at least trying to rectify some of these problems instead of laughing about not having "shovel ready jobs". K to you P.I. the qualifications for president are that you be "natural born" and 35 years old. you don't need to graduate high school. you don't need to have been a governer, a senator, or an "executive". you don't need to be a Christian. you don't need to have served in the military. it is YOUR OPINION that he was unqualified. and it is not an uncommon opinion. my own is that a sufficiently worldly grocery clerk who meets the requirements laid down in the constitution is qualified. i would like to think i live in a nation that is evolved enough to manage to elect one of their own. but if not, i am good with that too, even if the constitution has nothing to say about it. Harry Truman was not a college grad and was a store clerk before entering Congress...and he did a good job after some initial stumbles as our President. I think the problem is the voters expected more from Obama than what he has given them...and this is the opnion of a lot of dems and repubs who I have debated this issue with for the past two years
i completely agree, PI, and i think we can end this discussion, here. one more top 10 rated president to add: George Washington never graduated High School.

I sure hope so unless our resident anti-military types want to discuss my pension again .
Then I'll be back... ;D

taxes are lower under Obama than they were under Bush, so you can remove the pink octopus.
oh- and the bailouts were WAY smaller than the stimulus- and largely successful.

Obama has promised to raise taxes. He's re-affirmed his commitment to raising taxes several times now. The bailouts (of the auto industry) were a massive failure. The stimulus was a waste of almost a trillion dollars-- and Obama thinks that government red tape, and bullshit boondoggles that don't work, and wasting our money is something to joke about. I don't think likely voters are in the mood to laugh about over $800 billion in wasted money...

I think it is now 2 in 10 who will vote for Obama if he is not able to reach a compromised on the debt reduction meeting today with Reid and McDonnell....and if Pelosi is involved all bets are off the number will be 1 in 10.....IMHO

Some advice for Barack Obama from Madame Medusa.
Madame Medusa: Snoops, you don't have a way with children. You must gain their confidence... make them like you.
Snoops: Yeah? How do you do that?
Madame Medusa: You FORCE them to like you, idiot! He has no problem forcing his agenda, why not himself?
i like this little dance that conservatives do. Obama is somehow both a wimp and an oppressor. make up your MIND! hahaha

I must admit I have not been following Obama much until lately with his Afghan speech and his comments about debt reduction and I am not at all impressed... BTW I am a Democrat and born in the bastion of Democratic Politics...Boston MA.....the home of James "Whitey" Bolger...

Hannity played a montage of Obama gaffes. The problem is Obama has set himself up as a superhuman. Now that people have found out that he isn't it is much harder to play that angle. Clinton had the wink and nod so didn't have much to live up to and used his flaws to endear himself to people. W also made no claims to be a great speaker. Both Clinton and Bush enjoy people and have a sense of humor - I miss them both.

Obama is not faring too well lately on both sides of the aisle and I am beginning to feel sorry for him unless he can toss a "Hail Mary" pass at the end of his term and pull out a win...but I doubt it..
