Fully awake but not dressed. Researching things to do in Vancouver, BC. ooh! I can help with this. I spent a week there for my birthday a couple years back. you can take a sea plane to some of the islands, that was something crazy we did. I have an album of that day up on FB if you want to take a look.

Anyone else notice the range hood? Kitchen could use an update, for sure. For myself, those tile countertops would be replaced right away, too. Like the brick and big yard. alright, I went back and looked a 2nd time after your post here, and I needed to zoom in to see the tile counter. never tile for a counter, anywhere! andi, if you do move forward, counters get replaced before the carpets or paneling.

My septic backed up into my basement yesterday. I had to leave work early and clean it. DH popped open the septic ports when he got home from work and it was a pile of toilet paper clogging the drain. He had to shovel it out. And then to get the dog managed to find either the TP in the woods or where I dumped out the shop vac and rolled in it. I'm twitching a little bit with some PTSD from this house, 3w after closing. are y'all good now, or is stuff still kind of in progress? I'll be honest, I'm not dealing with septic stuff even if I'm capable and knowledgeable about the details.

tonight was another roasted potatoes bowl. small can of chicken, the rest of a batch of black beans from earlier this week, the end of a block of pepper jack cheese, and some bagged shredded mozz to pick up the slack. I've tossed the last of the leftovers of andi's cooking extravaganza as it's all aged out, and I will resume cooking tomorrow.
part of why I didn't wanna cook tonight is that one of the family packs of BSCB I bought this morning was leaking.....as I discovered when I got home and found it had leaked all over my kitchen floor. I stuffed it on a fridge shelf in a plastic bag, where if anything leaks, the shelf will contain it. it's easy enough to clean, and I just didn't wanna deal with it tonight as I'm effing tired.

I'm sitting on the deck, debating what I feel like dealing with cooking for dinner. I just want to go to bed. I'm streaming Grumpier Old Men on the laptop and my former town team in the Cape Cod Baseball League on my phone. tonight is Opening Night and they can three-peat this summer. I hope I can get out to some games this year!

Like the house. Is that a lock on the freezer? Hey, we all agreed to not talk about locks on freezers. We did?

this one is actually my favorite so far. carpet and paneling is cosmetic, and may be short change if the hardwood underneath is in good shape. def check that at inspection, if not before if you have the chance.

And also, why is it that we feel compelled to deep clean before we go on vacation? I've purged another two grocery bags of clothes, and will have a nice car full for dropping off at the thrift store. We don't even buy that much. Seriously. We can't afford to. Because it is nice coming home to a clean house. That way all you have to do is unpack and laundry. this. I clean my whole house, except running my bedding through the laundry. b/c usually when I get home, all I want to do is sleep, and I don't want to face-plant my travel-dirty body into a nice clean bed. I take care of that the next day, after a solid 10-12 hours of sleep lol...

it's cute, but I'd be wanting to knock down some walls to open it up more. the bedrooms look to be on the smaller side, also. and, what Mich said about the deck.

I'm parked on the deck with my laptop and streaming SVU episodes on my phone. my friend is still asleep, I don't understand how. he rolled in around 1 or so. I'm trying to keep the dogs outside so it's quiet, but I have shit to do in the house. but wait, pup food prep is one of those things, and I need him to bring me to the store first. I may need to start making some noise soon.

ooh, Waterford! how long are you in town? my info is ~20yo but I worked there on and off for a couple years. please definitely take all of the pics there, and post them! The wedding is at Waterford Castle. We will be staying on the grounds 3 days. My niece found she can rent the entire castle, catering and wedding for 3 days cheaper than her facility alone will cost in Minneapolis. We are going to tour Ireland, then go to France and are taking a Bordeaux River cruise. oh wow, that's pretty snazzy! we always stayed downtown since it was walkable, our industrial park was on the outskirts of Waterford proper. definitely take the tour of Waterford Crystal if you have time, it's pretty cool.

I mentioned in the dinner thread, I've got a NJ friend coming in tonight for some Cape League baseball this weekend. he was supposed to land last night, but current ETA is 1230am tonight. whatever, I'm here. I told him, though - if he wanted a house key for the weekend (usual fare for his photographer trips) that he was gonna have to cart my ass to the grocery store lol.... anyway, I've got one more trip down to move the last load of laundry to the dryer, and I still need to make up both beds with clean bedding. I'm avoiding doing up my own bed in the hopes that being vertical will keep me awake to watch the Celtics game.

I got creative tonight, I'm down to not a whole lot. tonight, I diced a couple red potatoes and roasted those with some broccoli. added a small can of chicken and tossed with some shredded pepper jack cheese. it hit the spot, but I'm looking forward to cooking again. I did make it through almost all of the leftovers of andi's delicious food, between sending packages home with folks, freezing some pozole, and noshing all week. (finnime, I'm sorry I didn't think to pack anything up when you headed home!) a friend is coming by this weekend to use my house as a crash pad while he goes and takes all of the gorgeous scenic pics and takes in a couple CCBL baseball games (per usual...). I told him that if he thought he was getting a key for the weekend, he was carting my ass out to the grocery store in exchange. his original plan was to get here last night, but now is looking at around midnight tonight. tomorrow, it is!

Pot of chili is now simmering. It’s a pain in the butt to make as I don’t use ground meat in it, but meat I need to chop myself. Mincing up about 3 lbs of meat takes time, and a sharp knife! Started looking at places to stay in Ireland and it’s not looking good. Getting a hotel room in Dublin is going to be pushing $400/night. At least we won’t need to pick up the car until we leave Dublin for Waterford. ooh, Waterford! how long are you in town? my info is ~20yo but I worked there on and off for a couple years. please definitely take all of the pics there, and post them!

I came inside when the landscapers got here, and was not loving the humidity when I tried to go back outside after they were done. so I caved and closed the windows/turned on the A/C. Punk is laying in front of a vent, snoring loudly. I'm thinking this is staying on through the small heat wave next week.

I am going to clean my car out today. And I have to get a few things for us to eat at the grocer. Going to make spaghetti sauce for tonight. I have gone all through the contract and can't see how long the sellers have to agree or disagree. I guess I have to email the agent, it should be in front of my face! I have never seen my son so mad. His neighbor is encroaching on his property. He had a survey done to make sure he was meeting all the requirements about set backs and things if he builds a garage. He has found she is encroaching 9.5 feet on the back of his 2.5 acres and 5 foot on the rest of the side. So she has cut and sold his trees, built a fence lately 5 foot over. She had told him before she thought the property line was right down her driveway. Her lot is an acre or less. So he only asked her to move the fence. This is the same neighbor that the dog bit grandson and had terrorized the neighbors,so she was required to build the fence. She just bought the property in 2020. So now she has informed him she is not moving the fence, that her septic drain field is on his property and about half of a building is on his property too and she isn't moving none of that. I'm sure some may be grandfathered but he said that is just too much. She is taking over quite a bit on his place. So he is going to the county first, code enforcement and such and has called a real estate attorney. I can't say I blame him as like he said if she doesn't care about any of that where does it end? Does she just keep taking more? Her back gate is even on his property. This type of thing can be a real mess, she has spent a fortune on that house and told him she couldn't afford to fix any of that stuff, just wow. Property disputes are messy and awful so I hate to see him involved in that, but I can't see letting her do that either. So expect to hear more on that. Ok, time for me to get busy. oh, hell no. definitely keep us posted on how this all turns out, hopefully the RE attorney can get somewhere. depending on when the building and septic drain fields were put in, and permits (or lack thereof), he could absolutely force her to have to remedy the situation by either compensating him for the purchase of the land she encroached on OR removing the offending encroaching items. the fact that she's already been an asshole? I'd make her tear shit out/down.

ah, gotta love the mornings when you hear the Teams ping noise before you even get out of bed. I knew exactly who it was going to be, and I wasn't disappointed. today's a good day to not be in person, b/c I'd be fired for some of the things I've already said out loud here at home. I managed to not type those things back in response, but when I'm pointing out in a group chat that this pushy woman is CC'd on all of the document approvals that she's asking me about, you know I'm over her crap this early in the morning. TGIF, kids! I shut my computer completely down when I log off work. I'll just deal with the BS the next work day. eh. it's a bigger screen than either my phone or tablet if I wanna stream anything when I'm parked on the deck. I can close Outlook and Teams, but the pings still come through. she was a PITA all damn morning, so the fact that I heard it early didn't really change anything. I actually had other team members reach out to see if I was alright, b/c my answers got really short and clipped. I just need that woman to go away and find another effing target to focus on. she likes me b/c I don't do things the way she likes. whatever, you're not my boss.

Actually, I'm quite fearful in general if I say something other than "Yes!" that isn't 100% "everything is awesome." I'm currently on a call for this project now, and I'm definitely on mute for it. although earlier this week, I left the line open and had to walk out back to peel LD off the fence. that wasn't quiet, either.

I might need to move my workstation inside. today's all about printing/signing/scanning. I'm jealous you can take your setup outside. I have 3 screens going crazy all freaking day long. I only moved it to move to current home and will move it one more time to go to the next house and it will stay there until the laptop dies. I think it's probably only that easy bc I was already used to just using the screen on the laptop itself in the office. if I was used to having multiple screens, I wouldn't be able to do that. 🤷♀️

In ER with Jerseyguy. He fell and might have a broken wrist. Also doing CAT scan for pulmonary blood clots We’ve spent way too much time here over the last year I had an appointment with my surgeon today. His offices are in building next to hospital so convenient. He’s very pleased with my progress Thinking we may need to ask housekeeper to come back to help Jerseyguy. Prior she’s been using upstairs primary BR and bath. When she left I moved back, happy to be in my own bed with my W/I closet. I moved downstairs cause I wasn’t able to use stairs after surgery So thinking put her in one of the DS bedrooms and she can use hall bathroom. Jerseyguy can use the DS bedroom with attached bath gentle hugs to you both.

OMG, I need a nap now. I just had an actual meal for lunch instead of a quick bite, and am remembering why I don't usually do that.

Their is a process for getting drugs removed from the market. Physicians can report adverse effects of medications to the FDA, and if enough events are noted, the approval can be reviewed, and additional restrictions can be recommended, or the drug can be reviewed from the market. The problem for the plaintiffs has to do with the fact that the medication works as advertised, which is what they have a problem with. It doesn't have a higher risk of side effects that would warrant the review thanks for this, a much more concise answer than what I'd have said to add to it, though - adverse effects and complaints are high visibility things for medicines released to market. we are constantly doing risk assessments IRT patient safety and product quality whenever a deviation occurs during any part of the manufacturing process as well. if there's an issue? we don't release, zero discussion.

I'm having an actual meal for lunch instead of just picking at stuff, so we'll call this dinner. the pups needed white rice for their stash, so I'm building a bowl with some white rice, leftover black beans and the last of andi's pork chile. will add some queso fresco and guac, and call it good.

I'm signing off work, and already don't wanna sign in tomorrow. whatever. I'll be outside enjoying the evening here. first up, I need to cook off the ground turkey and kale for the pups, that I picked up last weekend when I realized the turkey was on deep sale. they won't see it for dinner tonight, but I'll be set for the am and the next few days. I've made significant progress since the Tetris board that was my fridge on Friday night lol...

S stopped by with a couple more pup essentials this afternoon, and last night my other friend S (the CCBL/photography kid) texted to ask if I was still okay with him using my house as home base this weekend. I said absolutely! just know you're carting my ass around a little to restock the pup stash at some point lol.... and then my parents are coming down Sunday for the 60s night at the Melody Tent that night. my sister bailed outright, which doesn't really bother me at all after how she's been recently.

I saw in there if someone gets pregnant they have to leave in a year.Guess what else, so far the ones I have seen are all lily white. How do they get by with that? WTF? I can't imagine that's legal, at all. I wonder if Tina Tequila is on the management board. wow....

it also says 7 bedrooms, but the listing detail lower down says 3. it's just a mess all around. I think this is the one that had four bedrooms that weren't technically bedrooms. I forgot the wording that they used for it. Non-functional bedroom, maybe. Another house Andi posted had non-functional bedrooms as well. To me that is weird, to have a bedroom or several that aren't actual bedrooms. non-conforming was the word they used. that likely means there's no closet in the room, so they can't legally call it a bedroom. when I first saw that, I went looking to see if it was sewer or septic on the house, b/c septic is rated for the capacity of the house by # of bedrooms. in any case, that on top of the mess in the kitchen would make me run from this house.
