It’s not a big deal, but everyone needs to have a card to cross the border. Are you sure it’s not Nexus? Nexus expedites your crossing of the US/Canada border in both directions (which is why you get seen by both US and Canadian border patrol agents). Global Entry just gets you back into the US, it doesn’t get you into Canada. Also, Nexus is half the cost of Global Entry. It makes absolutely no sense, but we will take the benefits. DN3 keeps saying Global Entry but I think he means Nexus. He and NIL already have it and they want to be able to get through Customs faster, especially in Toronto where they said it's a nightmare. I think when they got it, they thought J was included, but he isn't. Do they take a new picture of J? He was about 5 days old in his passport photo and it's good for 5 years. His eyes were not open. yes, it's a completely different travel document that is a photo id. if the process is anything like Global Entry was for me, they take a picture during the interview so that they have it ready to process once approval is granted.

the carnitas casserole was delicious, easily the best one I've ever made. it's likely because I actually followed the Slow Cooker Carnitas recipe that's linked in the casserole recipe. usually I just wing it. the only thing I did differently was to juice the limes and then match that volume with OJ from a bottle. I didn't have oranges on hand to juice. I actually had a portion on its own for breakfast this morning lol... tonight, I'm going to saute off a package of thin sliced chicken breast that has a sell by date of tomorrow. I haven't decided if I'm going to make a big salad or have some leftover tortellini with it, but I'll have leftover chicken to work with for the rest of the week as well.

Just tuned into the trial chiver78 with Brian Albert on the stand. JFC, SSDD. "If that's what report says,ok". GTFOH. I can't belive this is going on. he's a piece of work, I said that on direct on Friday. I thought about tagging you earlier, but figured you had enough going on. glad you're able to tune in today! how about the report saying he said his daughter left at 1215am, and that he said he never said that. so are you lying, or the investigating officer? how do we know that either of you is telling the truth? we don't, b/c you're both full of shit.

I'm currently debating moving inside as my toes are blue. lol...
today's been solid I checked in with Mom this morning, she and Dad were on their way to brunch with my sister, who posted a passive-aggressive nature pic with a comment about spending the day with family! 🙄 whatever. I evicted the paper wasps from my Blackstone early while they were still sleeping, for zero fight, and re-seasoned this afternoon. and then I put together a carnitas casserole for dinner (and leftovers!) that still needs to be covered and chilled.
stick a fork in me, I'm done

I do not need you to explain anything to me. You didn't even read the article. The degree of damage from an AR-15 is completely unlike the injuries from a handgun. One is survivable; one is not. The injuries described as the result of an AR-15 are gruesome. But you continue to ignore it and downplay it because it interferes with the narrative you want to opine. The people who deal with the result of you masturabation with an AR-15 tell us that the injuries that it causes are completely unlike anything else they see. You tell us they are wrong. In what universe do you have the expertise to opine about the injuries they see. Unless your daughter is telling you all this, since she obviously is an expert. Well obviously I do need to explain it to you and any other medical know it all. I'm not comparing the AR-15 to a handgun Although I do posses a handgun that could rival the carnage. I'm saying that for a medical professional saying the damage they see from an AR-15 that the AR-15 is to blame. That is wrong Ruger makes a ranch rifle that uses the same cartridge as the AR-15 does, but it looks just like a normal hunting rifle. If fired into a person the damage would be the same. I think the reason why the medical universe is so uninformed about this is because the AR is the firearm that people like to use. It is not the firearm it is the type of cartridge being used. Ultimately it is the user. You just cannot get over yourself that if a medical professional says something it must be absolute. In this and probably in most instances involving firearms anyone in my family is more informed than the medical industry. Hell I would put my 9 year old grandson against anyone on here firearm knowledge. I'm late to this thread and just reading now, but I really fucking hope someone else has called you out for this bullshit. a Medical Examiner's literal JOB is to determine cause of death. but hey, they are a know-it-all. thanks for enlightening me. wow.

I'm at the Tampa airport between flights. Have to wait for our pilots to appear before we can think about boarding. Looks like it will be 1/2 hour late. Ah, well, at least there are pilots. that's an odd layover for your itinerary. what airline did you fly?

I think it might be time for a new vacuum cleaner. I decided to try something different, before I trash a new broom outside. yesterday I bought a super stiff bristled broom, intended for rough outdoor surfaces. I figured I'd try sweeping the rugs to see what I can drum up. I'm only halfway through my bedroom, and already have pulled up half a dog's worth of fur. maybe at least this time, the vac will do its job if there's no fur to clog up the works. when I use it, I have to almost fully take apart the stupid thing after each bedroom. that's not okay.

lol.....chuckling as I doze off tonight. I have the sleep timer on my bedroom tv in case I happened to pay attention to the basketball game that is gonna end in 2min. but my bed is shaking a little to some neighbor's music in the dark. it had been Stayin' Alive til about 30s ago, I don't recognize the current tune though. it definitely isn't immediately next door, but it's coming from that direction (there's two houses in the opposite direction, and this isn't their speed...). so I'm feeling much better about turning up my own volume this summer. Ms Crazypants can sit and twist with any complaints!
good night, kids! 😴

PCR for covid and flu negative. Rapid test for strep, negative. Sent that one for culture. I'm fairly sure that is what it is. They did give me a liquid pain reliever that has helped. Also gave me a script for a "wait and see" antibiotic. I tried to let fever run for a while and paid the price for that this afternoon. Fever has come back down but now I'm sweating. It is 67 degrees in the house. Will stay on top of keeping that down from here on out. this sounds like the last time I landed at urgent care. they did all the rapid tests (negative, including covid) and sent something else off for culture. I was almost in tears from the glass in my throat and they gave me this liquid med that they cut with apple juice to mask the awful taste, I forgot what it was. but they said it wouldn't interfere with an antibiotic if the culture came back positive for whatever it was (which it did, later on) I hope whatever they gave you already has helped. I definitely feel your pain.

tonight's going to be something brainless, like a can of soup or something. well, if I even eat anything. I'll restart the plans tomorrow, since I actually have plans this week haha - carnitas casserole verde and bruschetta tortellini. both work for solid initial meals and lend themselves to leftover full meals and small bites over the week. I just made up a grocery list for the morning, for stock-up sale stuff/pup fresh produce. I'll hit that in the morning, then come home and drop a small pork "picnic roast" in the crockpot for the day. tomorrow night I'll build and bake the pan of carnitas casserole verde. Sunday, I'm going to mix up bruschetta that I'll toss with a family size package of chicken and roasted garlic tortellini - that's tasty hot or cold and I can swipe some shredded chicken from the pups stash if I want some. edit - the pork is cooked/pulled, but I'm not interested in being near my kitchen long enough to build/bake/cool the casserole tonight. I'll do that tomorrow. currently there is a covered bowl of a very garlicky bruschetta just hanging out and getting tastier. I'll boil off the tortellini after that's sat for a bit longer.

ok, the taker for my huge keyboard bailed on me. BUT, I'm unloading my lawnmower that wouldn't start last weekend. one of my neighbors loves to tinker, so he can have it. I'd rather have the shed space back, esp with the addition of the snowblower last fall.

ah, fair enough. I keep cream for coffee, only ever a pint at a time. so it's easy enough for me to just add that to a pan if I'm craving a creamy sauce. thanks for the answer!

alright, I don't actually have a can of soup in the cabinet. noted for the grocery list, hopefully something is on sale that I'll actually eat.
I'm currently thawing out a small portion of a leftover jarred sauce I wouldn't ever buy again. I hope I can fix it enough for a pasta bowl tonight, and I won't sweat throwing the rest out. clearly I GAF tonight lol...

Flight last night was delayed so I got home @2am. And I woke up at 8 with my throat feeling like glass. Manager told me to rest today. I'm trying. It's not natural for me. Also came home to some BS. I might be ready to run away from home. hole up and catch up on the trial. yesterday got a little spicy, today was the homeowners of 34 Fairview. wife was fully questioned, cross of the husband will start on Monday. but things are ramping up. oh, and the blogger who blew up the story in the first place got his press pass this week and was in the courtroom this morning, until the prosecution filed a motion this morning to get him tossed. of course Aunty Bevvy ruled in favor. this whole thing is such a shit show!

exciting afternoon around here.... I just watched a fire truck, ambulance, supervisor SUV and PD cruiser SUV go flying by my house, all with lights and sirens on my tiny rural road. I can actually still hear sirens, so I'm wondering if something else is coming. oh wait, here comes another PD cruiser SUV. FTR? my house # is 536, and the town line is at 601. there's not much real estate south of me for these particular first responders. guess I'll wait for the scanner details later.....hope everyone will be okay. That sounds like a typical day here. it was when I lived in the city, too. it's quiet enough where I live in the woods now, that I heard the sirens from a solid mile away. and like I said, there's not much real estate between my place and the town line, so we don't really hear sirens often here. anyone responding across the town line is coming from the other direction. and, TBH, first responders from the other town are actually closer to me than the ones in my own town, just based on the map. I've already seen the fire truck and supervisor SUV head back north, no lights or sirens. that's a good sign, I'd say.

I mean, I'm not gonna flame, but it's so easy to let some actual cream simmer and thicken a sauce. it sounds like this is a fridge clean-out, that I've also done the past couple days. my breakfast burrito of leftovers and a little bit of shredded pepper jack cheese was an interesting blend haha. FWIW, I don't think I ever saw a can of cream of crap in my house growing up....as much of a mediocre cook my mom is/was. it just wasn't a thing. I remember asking a coworker about the tuna noodle casserole he had one day at lunch, b/c I'd never seen it before. I thought his head was going to explode lol... do you use it often? genuinely curious

ooh.....I need to try that. there's apparently some mice that get into my basement somehow. I've found droppings. hallelujah, it's Friday! the sun has finally made an appearance, too. I've moved my laptop outside for the rest of the afternoon so I can soak up all of the vitamin D.

LD is out cold, and Punk is fighting sleep right now. having slept on the couch last night to keep LD down there and away from thunderstorms, I'm looking forward to sleeping in my bed tonight and not being janky and crunchy tomorrow. lol...
I'm trying to motivate myself to do another draft of the RTO response, geared more toward the comment in my boss's first flare about "my choice of housing not being relevant to the requirement to be in the office". I lived an hour south of downtown when I joined the company, and I still live an hour south of downtown. the problem is that management moved our department northwest of downtown and told me (in writing) that I could stay downtown where I could take public transportation. the problem isn't where I choose to live. I'm actually still in the HR systems as downtown, not out in left field. so I want to tackle that angle as the primary, with the secondary being the details about all my meetings being on calls b/c at least one person isn't local, and so on.

My house smells funky when you first walk into the hall that leads to the bedrooms. It’s been like that for a long time and I have no idea where the smell is coming from. By the time I get to the end of that part of the hall, where it turns to lead to my bedroom, I can’t smell it anymore. It’s not just me, Mister smells it too. It isn’t a musty smell, it just stinks. I do not like part of my house being stinky. I've been smelling poop all afternoon and I can't find it. It can't actually be poop. I've looked all over the twins had access to and there's nothing. LD's been farting pretty foul the past week or so, could it be that?

I definitely feel you on not putting things right on the rack. I used a thin pizza pan for a frozen one tonight, just to contain any mess. it absolutely prevented the crust from getting crispy, but I don't feel like cleaning the oven this weekend. tonight, the dishwasher is running and my drying rack is full of pieces of my humidifier that I finally broke down and cleaned this afternoon for the season before I pack it up til next winter. that means it sits out there until it's all completely dry so I don't get mold by then. I should be good in the am. what that meant, was that I sliced up some fridge goblin veggies and threw those on a frozen pizza with a little extra shredded cheese to keep things contained haha. it was an American Flatbread "cheese and herb" white pizza, bought on sale. there's another one in the basement freezer for another day.

LD has been softly snoring for a little while now, even when I ran upstairs to pee during hockey intermission. Punk might kill me in my sleep tonight, but I'm def staying down here with/for him. I also checked in on FB with similar content, so if Punk does actually do me in, the well-being check won't take too long. lol...

oh boy. LD has been pacing a little more than just late dinner (I was still cooking at EOB and it needed to cool before I fed them dinner) but thunder has been rumbling over the last 15-20min. so, he's gotten a CBD treat and I'm apparently probably sleeping on the couch tonight once I get downstairs. dinner is cooking now. Will set an alarm for midnight-ish, just in case. in comparison? Punk is out cold on my kitchen floor.

IT ABSOLUTELY 100% IS NOT YOU!!! big hugs, NomoreDramaQ1015. as far as this goes - I'm hearing that if I continue to not RTO, that will result in a PIP for me as well. remember, the biggest reason I'm NOT going is because it's counter-productive to me actually doing my job. I don't understand it any more than you do for your own situation, but apparently it's a real thing. I hope you are successful in finding a new spot to land, and soon.

I may have mentioned this here before, I know I've said it recently to a couple friends so I honestly don't know. excuse the repeat if I have.... but the best thing to get me to fall asleep is a nearly 20yo series airing on HLN called Forensic Files. it was rebooted with a new narrator after the original guy died, but it's not as effective. the first narrator's voice is so soothing! he can be talking about the most grisly of crimes and it puts me right out. HLN generally has a marathon on the overnights, which is nice and convenient
