NAG I just have to share what my DD did this morning. She comes to me this morning requesting breakfast like she always does and she's complaining that she's cold. (With the AC on, it is a little chilly in the morning). When we get to the kitchen I notice her lips are blue, and I mean BLUE! Of course, I freak out and am checking/feeling her wrists, arms and such trying to see if she feels cold or looks blue anywhere else. She didn't. So I asked her if she used a marker on her lips this morning. "Maybe, I don't remember", she replies. This means, yes, but I don't want to admit it. *Sigh* That girl is going to give me a heart attack before she makes it to her teen years.

Walgreens is new to me, just wanted to share something:
I went in yesterday after work, and the WAGS ad in my newspaper had the $.69 aluminum foil, 20 sq. ft. So I found the aluminum foil, but it was a package of 25 sq. ft. I have read enough on this site to realize that if you don't get the exact item on the coupon, it generally won't work.
An employee of WAGS was walking by, and asked if she could help me, and I asked about the aluminum foil. She said that WAGs is changing their foil from 25 to 20 sq. ft., but said I could use the coupon for 20 sq. ft. and get the 25 sq. ft. Whoo hoo, I got 5 sq. ft. free! But when I went to the register, it wouldn't take the coupon, the cashier called the manager, who happened to be the same woman who helped me initially, and they just put it in as a special price.
The ladies were very helpful, one even offered to get a cart for me, I was doing a balancing act with the Angel soft package of 9 rolls of toilet paper and the two Hefty bags.
Another WAGS question -- I noticed they have Angel soft for $4.00 for 9 rolls, and Cottonelle for $5.00 for 12 rolls (both brands that I use). This comes out to $.45 and $.42 per roll respectively. These prices were PRINTED on the packages of toilet paper. My question, do they have these prices at WAGS all the time?
I also got about six WAGS July coupon booklets and one beauty booklet, I took a few in the store, they gave me a few, and then in the parking lot someone had left two in a cart. If anyone needs any Q's from them, please let me know and I will be happy to send them to you. I also have all the pet and any baby related Q's from the past two weeks, if you need anything, please let me know. _________________________________
Now I have a CVS question on a scenario I would like to do:
Buy 2 Pantene products 2/$6.97 Less $3.00 MQ Will pay $3.97 and get $2.00 EBC
Buy 3 Dove products Soap: $7.00 Body wash: $6.00 Hair care: $6.00 Total: $19.00 Less $1.00 MQ for soap Less $1.00 MQ for body wash Less $1.00 MQ for hair care product Less $2.00 ECB from Pantene transaction above Will pay $14.00+tax and get $6.00 in ECB This just seems high, I know I'm still new and don't have much ECB's built up.
Any comments or suggestions would be welcome!

Ok I'm back to couponing again. I am really hoping to go slow and learn more this time s Welcome (back)! Slow & steady wins the race, right? Is there anything in particular you feel you need to know?

Munjoy those dove prices are high to me. I wouldn't pay $6 - $1 for a hair product.

These prices were PRINTED on the packages of toilet paper. My question, do they have these prices at WAGS all the time? munjoyhill: Yes, WAGs does have the pre-priced packages of TP all the time. This does not mean that the price will not eventually go up or that package shrinkage will not occur in the future. $.45 and $.42 per roll of TP is pretty high. Buy only what you absolutely need and then just wait until a killer RR deal comes along (i.e. an item is free after RR AND you have a coupon that will cover most/all of your OOP to get the item). Then use your RRs (that you got for free or almost free) to buy TP. In addition, look for the non pre-priced packages to go on sale and snag a rain check or two if you can so that you can get the great sale price when you have excess RRs. That way you get the sale price whenever it's most convenient for you. I have stockpiled many an item using this method including toilet paper and paper towels.

Munjoyhill:The advice that DancinMama gave to Sealy is very useful: sealy: Good job. To save the most money, it is important to just take it slow and easy. If/when you are down to your last of something (like when you grab that last deodorant or package of laundry detergent), start looking for the item on ad and hopefully combine with a coupon. Buy one of what you need UNLESS you can get it for free (or very close to it) and then stockpile as many as you have coupons for within the limit restrictions imposed. You don't want to stockpile something just because it's on "sale." You only want to stockpile when it's free or close to it, as Dancin Mama said. ETA: Doh! DancinMama - you were posting the same time I was. Lol!

Weaselfer -
When I read your post and saw "blue lips" I thought this was going to end up in some horrible story! I was getting worried just reading along!
Wow...no more blue markers for your daughter! Yikes.

The deals would be a no-go for me, other than the Pantene IF I really needed shampoo. I have to ask - are you a HUGE Dove brand person? Would another brand suffice? In the past, we have been able to get various soaps and body washes for free after sale, coupon, and rewards. IF you can wait, I would take a pass on the Dove deal. HTH

Munjoyhill:
For future reference - You probably won't need that many Wags booklets (6). One Wags coupon can be used in a transaction for multiple items. I normally just take 1 of those monthly booklets. Now, the beauty books you may need more than 1.
On the Dove, as BluesClues said, too high - unless you have no shampoo left in the house.
On the tp - I just paid .33 a roll for Cottonelle double-ply double-rolls. We are brand particular and Cottonelle is one of the most expensive tp's. I got down to that price by combining a sale and coupons. And, I can tell you that I could pay cheaper than that for tp if we were willing to go for a cheaper brand.
The tp at Wags is generally single ply and in my neck of the woods, while the price is ok, it is not great, unless you also have a high value coupon to go with it.

Our summer sheets bit the dust and we still have the winter flannels on the bed. I REFUSED to pay even a sales price for a new set of sheets so I have been waiting patiently for a great sale. I picked up a CA King set of sheets (Egyptian cotton/800 TC) for $68.82. $199.99 -100.00 (50% off sale) - 10.00 $10/$20 coupon - 27.00 30% off coupon + 5.83 Sales Tax 68.82 OOP --> $10 in Kohl's cash I am hoping that I can get some piggy back coupons to make the Kohl's cash stretch a little further. In any case, I will pick up $10 or more in something for free at Kohl's - probably white cotton socks for me.

Don't you love those 30% off Kohls coupons? I got one and got some summer tops and a Calphalon skillet. I'll have $20.00 in Kohls bucks to spend next week. Dancin, where did you get your $10/$20 coupon?
Shelly, great job at Kohls!

Thanks for the comments on the Dove deal I wanted to do. I am not brand specific on soaps or shampoos, I think what I am trying to do is get some ECB. I have none at the moment. I was hoping by combining this sale with the few coupons I have that it would turn out better than it did -- and I'd get the ECB -- but just seemed way too high for me.
I haven't done either of the deals (Pantene or Dove), however, I am down to my last bottle of body wash, so within a couple weeks I will need some. I've got enough shampoo/conditioner on hand for another month or so. I definitely want to stockpile these items, but will wait for a better deal.
I will be patient though, wait for a good deal to come along. So far I am pleased that I snagged a couple of B1G1 deals, even without coupons. Once my coupon stash improves, I hope to drive down my OOP amount even more.

REALLY nice job Babbs! You used the $3 q to end up making all your purchases free (after new ups)! That would be exactly what I would do - to try to give out the same amount of ups as I'm getting back...AND walk away with a bag full of goodies! Great going!

Once my coupon stash improves, I hope to drive down my OOP amount even more. I've got a bodywash scenario for you: In that Wags Beauty Book you picked up, there is a $1 MQ for Softsoap bodywash. The week of 7/10 at Rite Aid, Softsoap bodywash will be on sale for $2.99 w/$2 UP. Combine that with the $1 MQ and it will be free! There is a limit of 4, so I'd suggest, if your Wags is plentiful w/the Beauty Books that you at least try to pick up a 2nd one. (And if they're seriously plentiful, 4, but of course, it's nice to be kind to others so you'll have to make your own decision on what feels right in terms of how many Beauty Books you take.) Now, a little warning - this coupon IS a true manufacturers coupon. HOWEVER, on the one side of it, it does say "Instant value coupon good at Walgreens." So, if you have snippy RA cashiers, it is possible they could try to stop you from using this q. However, it is totally legit to use. I am planning to do this deal. Hope that gives you something to look forward to! PS On the Pantene Shamp/Cond at CVS, $1 (net) is not bad to pay for shampoo/conditioner. It's just that, for many of us, we have an entire shelf-full of free shampoo & conditioner. I will say that I'm not too sure if the free shamp/cond will continue or come again...it's always a gamble, but we always hope for free

Just as leanna mentioned, it's hard to tell what the future will bring as far as the deals are concerned, but I always try to hold out for completely free. Just let the good deals come to you instead of trying to force them when they aren't really there.

When I was in Staples recently, I think they had one of those on the back of a catalog that was sitting around the store. It wasn't the weekly sales ad, but more of a mailer that they send out. It might be worth glancing around CS and the cash registers to see if you can find one.
leanna: You have PM

Regarding the Cottenelle tp at WAGS...my WAGS marked the 12 pks down to $3.48 for some reason, and then I got a $1 catalina for Cottenelle from another purchase. Might want to keep your eyes open for a clearance package.

Oh well; they probably need stuff more than I do so it's all good.
