In that case, I would suggest to wait a couple of years, but you never know - they may get caught up in the story so much - they may surprise you. This. My daughter surprised me by wanting to read HP. She's afraid of ghosts, spiders, the dark, zombies, etc. She loves HP. she's read the whole series a couple of times, seen the movies and is eagerly awaiting Fantastic Beasts 2. She's rereading the play The Cursed Child right now. Sadly, she still finds Doctor Who creepy... Well, hell, so am I!!

My kids both love the Daleks. Voices and everything. Cybermen, they're not sure about.

The real question is do they come in adult sizes? I need a pair of these for me.

I get it - her eye is gone, its shaved, there's stitches. It's freaky. But they're like "ahhhh, Annie's looking at me" and crying. This going to be a long two weeks until her stitches are removed. For the record, Harper is terrified. Chloe was fine until she started copying Harper's scaredy-cat-ness. Ugh!

Glad surgery went well.

Can you put an eye on the dog and the kids and all be pirates?

Well, she shouldn't really be playing too much anyway, so that's okay. I'm just trying to get her to sleep - damn e-collar!
Beth - hmmm, I will have to think of something! Maybe eye patches and somehow fashion e-collars for them!

She doesn't have a patch though - it's just a swelled, shaved area with stitches where her eye used to be. I won't lie - it's fairly weird and gross at the moment, so I understand a little why they are disgusted by it. I wonder if they do have dog eye patches...

Maybe you could buy an eye patch intended for people? I've seen them at CVS. If you can get her to wear it, it might keep the wound cleaner, too.

Some temporary and some permanent. He’s still the family dog and needs their love and care.

This is a good teaching moment. They’re going to encounter people with issues. Some temporary and some permanent. He’s still the family dog and needs their love and care. That is what I have been working on. Harper even got a library book last week - A Rainbow of Friends - that discussed this, so it was appropriately timed. We are working on "Annie is still the same dog, she just looks different. It's very rude and mean to Annie when you yell like that. That makes Annie very sad. She can't help that she had a bad eye. Just because she looks different doesn't mean we don't love her," and on and on. Today is Day 1. I'm sure by Day 10 or 14 when her sutures come out, they will have gotten over it. And I'm sure in 3 months when all the hair grows back, this will all be forgotten.

Came home and immediately noticed a chemical smell as I pulled in the driveway. Texted dh if he got the yard sprayed. He says they did the trees like he mentioned to me last week. Um, then how come there is a sign in the front yard and the bill in the mailbox says they treated the yard. Work was craptastic this week and I had 0 motivation. And it's totally going to come off as me picking a fight to start the weekend instead of him making dumbfuck choices and then lying and thinking maybe I won't notice. Great way to start the weekend. I was already in a funk because he's going to a show with my brother tonight and then taking the kids to the ren faire tomorrow and meanwhile I can't find a friend free to go do something with tomorrow so I'll likely stay home and end up cleaning since the house is out of control again.
I don't like that he decided to spray without discussing it. I hate chemicals in the yard because I want the kids to play in the grass. I hate that he lied. And honestly spending money on grass isn't my idea of a good use of funds. Plus the landscaping company left a whole list of things that they suggest we pay them to fix and of course he's going to want to.
And the disney cruise docs arrived in today's mail but I'm too pissed to enjoy them.

Hugs everyone.
I just got home with the kids and their McDonald's. Tonight is kid night at the Ninja gym. $50 for 3 hours of care, plus snacks and a beverage. So dh and I are going out for dinner at my favorite Thai place, then hopefully come home for some time alone. Then he can go pick up the kids.
Rest of the weekend is laundry, grocery shopping, laundry, soccer game, laundry, gym evaluations for dh and the kids, laundry, and church. Did I mention I did no laundry for over almost 2 weeks and it's a wee bit backed up?

My 45 year old sister died unexpectedly this morning, in a similar way to how my dad unexpectedly died 12 years ago. She was my only sibling. I just want to curl up in a ball and cry for weeks.

I’m so, so sorry for your loss. Curling up in a ball and crying is perfectly acceptable. My condolences to you and your family.
