Looking at convertible car seats. Is it worth the extra cost to get the ones that can be used as a booster? Seems like those are about $100 more, which is pretty steep. we got one of those when DS was about 1.5. It's still going strong. Well, until today when it will be replaced by a big boy booster. Aw, my baby's growing up.

I don't think so, and boosters can be quite cheap. I paid $35 for one highback booster, more for a harness booster, but that was still < $100.

My son went straight from the 5 point to the backless booster which are really cheap and easy to move around from car to car. He was able to stay in the 5 point for a long time though. I think until 5 or maybe a little older?

I'm going to go with unnecessary. Car seats expire after 5-10 years, if you get in a wreck you'll need to replace it, and booster seats are pretty cheap.

They don't have warm water? That can't possibly be true, right? They probably only have hot water and cold water....

We have a Graco Nautilus. The highest model. It doesn't expire for ten years and goes up to 100 pounds. It goes from five point harness to booster to backless booster.
I bought two on Amazon warehouse and they were about $90 each. They will last from when Harper was 2.5, when I switched because Chloe needed the convertible, until she's done in the carseat.
Amazon warehouse is the bomb.

I love the idea of expiring car seats... like it starts smelling rotten and getting soft.

When I was a kid, I just had to have my own tiny Christmas tree, and I got one for Christmas. I put it in my room every year until the plastic base broke for absolutely no reason. There was never any stress put on it, other than holding the little tree up. The plastic degraded over the years.

Speaking of warm water reminds me of the time on New Years' Eve when the toilets would not flush and the server said it was because they were running the dishwasher.
What you do not normally wash the dishes.

I did my follow-up blood test and I'm not pregnant! That means the process I choose for my miscarriage worked!
Now to work on changing the blood test results! 😉

Kind of feel like I want another baby. Not right this second, but in a year maybe? Exactly how nuts am I?

This is all probably moot because the changes of DH agreeing to another kid are close to 0.

I couldn't stand to think about having another baby shortly after Gwen. The idea literally made me want to kill myself. It was three years later before I changed my mind.
DH wanted another one right away, he would have been happy to start the day I left the hospital like SIL suggested we do. I refused to even TALK about it till I was done BF-ing. I didn't want another one till I was done with all the baby stuff and realized there was an end at the light of the tunnel.
Doctors recommend at least a year so your hormones adjust and your hoo ha gets back in working order (otherwise things can start to get loose down there). If that doesn't matter to you then it's really up to personal preferene how close you have them together.

Dr. said to wait 18 months before getting pregnant again. Or maybe it was 24 months...

Holy hell, the shit is going to hit the fan on Friday at the kids'school.
Enrollment is down for the K4 grade so they're consolidating 4 classrooms to 3 classrooms, each with around 27 kids. 27 four year olds. No additional aides either.
One of the 1st grade teachers is taking early retirement and leaving, effective Monday. They're moving the most beloved K4 teacher to first grade AND having HER write the damn letter to the entire K4 grade. No letter from the principal or the superintendent of the school system. Just her letter.
I'm told the school knew the numbers were not going to be good in summer but hoped for some late enrollments. But most of the K4 parents will find out Friday, when the letter goes home that Monday will be a different classroom environment.

Oh and Friday night is the entire school get together for dinner, on the playground. So all the pissed off parents will be in the same place at the same time.

Beth, I envision that the angry parents will be throwing their food at the administrators.
That is a lot of 4 yr olds for one teacher. My oldest DD teaches Kindy at a public school and she only has about 18 kids and shares an aide and she says that at times it can be rough.

Yeah, I don't know if I want to be there on Friday night or not. We often skip the dinner because too many people and dh can't eat anything there.

ODS's kindergarten class had 26, but they all had to be at least 5. Some were even 6. And they had a shared aide between 2 classrooms. 27 4 yo with no aide sounds like insanity. And to change it in the midst of the year--wtf? My 4 yo preschool class has 19 or 20, with at least one aide, sometimes 2.

There are sort of aides. The Foundation brings in interns/aides from Germany because it's important for the kids to hear native speakers. But they rotate among the classrooms so they may spend half the day in one classroom in the morning then move to another class room in the afternoon.
ETA the Foundation aides are not public school employees so the school shouldn't count on them.

27 kids in preK is way too many. My sister would quit. Classroom size for preK is our school district is 20 or less. Her class has an aide this year who is dedicated to one disabled student.
