Huh-- never thought about Beauty and the Beast... interesting, strong woman that saved her man.... very true. One of our fav movies here with the GBs. But some could interpret it as a woman being imprisoned and abused by a man then succumbing to the abuse and acting like it never happened when he turned handsome and they lived happily ever after. It was nice to see Gaston meet his maker, though. LOL-- POV is everything!

I can't post the link here. Google Obama safe school czar reading list and look around. Some of it I would not bring in to my home. Harry Potter?? Please-- that was the stupidest protest over a children's fantasy series. As I said before-- extremists. I have Mormon friends, their kids read Harry Potter. And my best Mormon girlfriend and I both love Anne Rice novels. Some religious people go a bit overboard in their own brand of PC. Not all, by any means.

"Google Obama safe school czar reading list " is that the official title? ... No wonder you come up with such funny 'sources' when you do a search with that much biaas... Ok... I did the search as you suggested. I found lots of links with that in the title. But while i clicked on at least 10, i actually could not find a list? The sites also seemed to be talking about the GLSEN recommended reading list. And connecting the current 'safe schools czar' with that organization. However, i did not see on one site where obama, his administration, or in his official capaicty as safe schools czar, that Jennings was recommending any of those books as a 'govt approved reading list' ? Was i missing something? I would like to look at a govt approved reading list if you have a link to one... Thanks.

Nope. You can do the search yourself. Sorry. The published list and excerpts are from '09, may have to dig.

You want me to prove that what you are saying is true? I'm telling you... everything i've pulled up, from the searches you have suggested... tells me that your claim is in fact NOT TRUE... there is no such list... so unless you can show me something that says there is... well then, I have to draw the conclusion that your statement is not factual. I can find NO government approved reading list for children.

Whatever. Ask Tenn or any of the mods on the old boards that banned me for posting the link and excerpts from the books. It's out there, all right, and has not been denied.

I'm looking and looking... and could look forever, and would never find what you suggest, because it does not exist... you are taking the GLSEN reading list and suggesting that it is somehow reccommended by the government...

Every single source talks about the GLSEN recommended reading list... there is NO government approved reading list for school children... that's the list she's talking about.... just no one has ever been able to convince her it's not a gov't issued required reading list.... Got it... i'll stop trying to point out the truth of the matter then... i'm guessing it won't make a difference

Look for gatewaypundit safe schools Kevin Jennings. If you LIKE what you see recommended for kid reading..................... If you do NOT............ why am I just telling you about it 2 years after the fact? You either approve or disapprove, but why you don't know is the question. Of course you ain't gonna learn it on a public message board or on a left wing website, because it is too explicit and controversial to post or defend.
I'm through with this subject. Sorry- no bans today. Too bad, so sad.

From the gatewaypundit website: Breaking: Obama's "Safe Schools Czar" Is Promoting Child Porn in the Classroom– Kevin Jennings and the GLSEN Reading List
NO government approved reading list for children.
Kevin Jennings previously worked with the GLSEN group. GLSEN maintains a recommended reading list for children.
The fact that these are both true statements does not make the GLSEN recommended reading list, a 'government approved' reading list...
At no time in his government capacity has Jennings suggested that the GLSEN reading list should be adopted, nor has he submitted a 'government approved reading list for children'.
Seriously... Critical Thinking in United States History... Or The Fallacy Detective...

Kevin Jennings promotes those books, and he is Obama's safe school czar. That makes him gov't, and his ideas gov't sanctioned. If that is all you have to say.. looks like you found the story-- very long with numerous excerpts from the recommended books???............................ then I do not know what to say. Jennings has also been in trouble for acting as an advisor to a kid in his school that was having a torrid affair with a much older adult man, rather than doing his job, which is, BY LAW-- to report cases of child abuse to authorities. VERY bad pick for safe school czar. Just like all the rest of Obama's picks were- extremely radical--- many of whom have left their positions now, and are doing their same stupid stuff elsewhere. How Obama got away with all of this is beyond me. BUT-- I DID just read an article by thinkprogress about "the right's smear campaign of Kevin Johnson", which, OF COURSE, does not mention ANY of this. People can choose to know stuff, or to not know stuff. Personal choice. Too bad many parents are clueless, trust the schools to care for and raise their kids, and these kind of people are the ones doing it. Truly disgusting, IMO, and those parents may get what they deserve for not being pro-active in their kid's education.

"Kevin Jennings promotes those books, and he is Obama's safe school czar. That makes him gov't, and his ideas gov't sanctioned. " Interesting... dare i call it, 'logic' ? Frankly... people like you are one reason why we need public unions... You would probably be one of the people who were recently outing a teacher in a PA high school for writing erotic romance novels in her spare time.... how dare a person who has a public position have a private/prior life...

Don't even ask about that because every time I even post a link to the gov't approved reading list for kids I either get banned or in trouble-- yes, it is too racy for this board. krickitt-What 'government approved' reading list are you referring to? Did the U.S. government post the reading list you are referring to? Is it on a government website? The links you posted on the old P&M board (which got you banned for a day) in December, 2009 were from some website that had nothing to do with the government. You made some 20 posts of book excerpts and passages from this 'list'. Besides the fact the posts you made of the excerpts were mature-theme material and not appropriate for the board, I believe you also temporarily caused legal problems for MSN by posting the excerpts without the authors of all the books permission. MSN Legal department possibly had to review your posts to see if they could be held liable for what you posted. I am guessing the determined they could not be held liable. Alll your posts were deleted. Recently you again posted the same link with the mature theme excerpts from the same books you posted on the old board. I believe that post was deleted by moonbeam due to the content in the link. The statement below is from the website which promotes these books. It is up to the parents to screen the books for content: "All BookLink items are reviewed by GLSEN staff for quality and appropriateness of content. However, some titles for adolescent readers contain mature themes. We recommend that adults selecting books for youth review content for suitability. The editorial and customer reviews listed at Amazon.com often provide information on mature content."

Kevin Jennings promotes those books, and he is Obama's safe school czar. That makes him gov't, and his ideas gov't sanctioned. LOL. Do you have a link stating Kevin Jennings promoted the books today? Yesterday? The day before? And the professor is a liberal (see thread title) because krickitt said so even though it isn't mentioned in her link or biography of the professor (reply #1).

Funny , I thought I brought that up , conservative /liberal back a ways and sure enough I did, #74 post, page three , and we are still asking that question, neat or tired, no sure what at this stage. ------------------------------------------------ "Yesterday at 1:02pm, krickitt wrote:Read her bio- I posted it. No WAY that woman is a conservative. And if she did this on her own time she has bigger problems than meet the eye. Your opinion , I am sure she would disagree, also have a few choice words for you and are you sure she is not a conservative, possible a link, blood test, body scan? ------------------------------------------ Problem is we never got the blood test , body scan me thinks, other wise the mystery might be solved.
