How about turning on the WRAP function in the "Reply" box. There is nothing to turn on or off. mine wraps fine. what browser and version are you using? How about a "Preview" button to preview our post before we send it? this is already being talked about elsewhere on virgil's thread board upgrade status How about a "Spellcheck" button for those of us who's keyboard has a mind of it's own? browsers have spellcheck built in these days. but again, on virgil's thread above. How about "Navigation" options at the bottom of the thread ... to jump to the next or previous pages ... "<< 1 | 2 | 3 |...| 49 | >>" please look at the top of the page, above the top post. that navigation thing floats down the page with you. i've said this elsewhere on another thread you posted on, i think. I'm "forced" to use Internet Explorer version 7 at work. No option to change this. My text doesn't wrap ... maybe it's an IE7 issue, but you telling me it works for you doesn't fix or help to resolve the issue for me. I saw your other posted answer to the "scrolling" of the page numbers ... it DOESN"T SCROLL in IE7. You telling me it "works for you" doesn't help it to work for me!

Lots of folks are forced to use whatever software versions their company allows or chooses to use. IE7 is "older", granted ... but some of us are still forced to use it.
Proboards should be intimitely aware that many of it's users MAY be using slightly outdated software ... but the solution ISN'T to tell the users to upgrade their software ... the solution is to make Proboards compatible with older software. The code hasn't change THAT significantly to warrant us end users buying or subscribing to newer software.

i understand that for work, but at home, there's no reason why someone on ie7 couldn't upgrade. to NOT do so (or to not try a different browser) is their choice at that point.
did you try the compatibility mode thing that others have mentioned? just wondering if that would help at all.

On the old v4.5, we could view members by letter - now that's no longer available and you have to click through the pages on the Members List.

SL, there is a search box. use that. type a letter. .or the start of a username OR screen name.. it does a pretty good fuzzy search.

Clicking on a link opens the link in the same window instead of opening a new window automatically. It's not a big deal, since I can right click and open in a new window, but if it can be fixed sometime it would be great. Not sure if it's my browser issue but I have never had this issue before. I am using Chrome. TIA

It's likely been addressed already, but I don't feel like reading so many pages....but we really need a larger font.
Perhaps a thread where all questions/concerns/and responses are all together.

OK ... I have no idea where to find this "Compatibility Mode" setting that some are talking about. I'm assuming it's on my end in my browser settings maybe ... but where? I can't seem to find it.

My compatibility mode is to the left of the "refresh" (up/down arrows) button on my browser: compatibility button, refresh button and X for stop. Hope this helps you. OH, I see where you are on IE7 and I am on IE8 so there may be a difference. My compatibility button looks like a piece of paper torn in half!! Hope this help you.

No "Compatability Mode" on my version. You are correct ... I'm using IE7 and it is different than IE8.

Researching "Compatibility Mode" for IE reveals that IE8 users can run in "simulated" IE7 (or Compatibility Mode) to view pages that are having difficulty being view in the newer version. NOT the other way around. There is NO Compatibility Mode that allows an IE7 version user to view in IE8 Compatible Mode. "IF" I had a compatibility mode in my IE7 ... it would only be used for IE6 styled webpages that were not upgraded to work with IE7.

straight pasting in the reply box notmsnmoney.proboards.com/thread/28585/report-bugs-longer-betazone opens in the same window
using the URL button Report Bugs thread opens in a new window

Sorry I couldn't help!! I guess that I am one of the lucky ones with IE8 that hasn't had any problems so far and I didn't do anything with the compatibility thingy. Now I hope I haven't jinxed myself.....

So I'll add this to the wish list. It would be nice to have the "Back to Top" button in every post again. I understand that we can use shortcut keys, however that isn't as convenient as the link/button when using mobile devices. Other than that, I think it's a good upgrade and appreciate the hard work everyone's put in to this upgrade and the site in general... Thank you! Sroo - Do you have a "Home" key? that will knock you to the top with one click. "End" takes you to the bottom.

Thanks Moon. That's all I can ask. By-the-way ... I now see all the font, quote, insert, smiley-face buttons. The "Quote" button works and everything is no longer on one line extending endlessly off to the right outside the reply box. And word wrap seems to have somehow miraculously started working. Good job to whom ever is doing the fixes. (or did I just enter the Twighlight Zone...................... )

LOL at your thread idea! Oh - and yes - my editing tools showed up after I took the compatibility off in Tools. I also changed my Forum Theme to the old style and that's when I saw it. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it but I'll just keep this theme and not question it.

I would guess the system is still shaking out its kinks at this time. Check it tomorrow and hopefully most will be worked out.
