Never been banned either. If one keepa getting banned no matter whcih board sesms the common denominator is the person who continues to do what gets one banned. I could say thast too but lost that designation, the last few hours on th old MSN board..LOL...they finally got me...thought it was funny, think it's a permanent one for klife and a day as the zone closed a few hours later..acually got a kick out of it..think because i was yappring to a old acquaintence from a different site about something..next thing I knew, went back to see a answer to post posted ..ZAP, ZAP.."you may read the ....etc etc..}

Either you wrote something really, really bad, or someone had their knickers in a bunch big time. I'd guess the latter. I can see why you get a kick out of it! I thought it might have been safe..I questioned him once publickly on his posting, remember he was a poster and a mod..and we had no PM..but I stayed away from criticizing mods..but in this case I felt he was falling into a certain way with his posts as a poster..he came back, we cleard it up..went on our way, {Have to say I thought his posting style improved 125 %, still posting his side but so intelligently, he had me on my heels a lot of times and even agreeing with him at times, , which I think has stayed with him here, and now not a moderator. Was told no so think it might have been Sam but yeah right at the end..it was funny, like a accomplishment..I really tried not to cross the line, went up to it but stayed away from crossing..even quickly going back , if posting in my mind over the line , possible to delete or mitigate the post.

how about a Karma count-down timer? I've recently notice I've given karma to multiple people in a thread. if I had a count-down timer or a "last karma time was..." I would know how soon I can give karma again.

Hi, I'm new here posting (although I do read posts and followed from MSN) and haven't really gotten into personal investing. A managed IRA and stagnant mutual funds are my claim to the markets. That being said; a board or topic for a glossary of financial terms would be very helpful for me. I can assume that a "short position stock" is a stock which will be held for a short time, but what is considered a short time ( Korea not pertinent). I'm hoping to get a bit more actively involved in the markets and this would help. I may be able to understand Frank a bit better as well.
Thanks.....

Hampton, i haven't seen any hacks like that in my wanderings, but i will look. in the meantime, what about setting an alarm on your phone that goes off an hour after you give one?
cw3, that's actually a really good suggestion. i don't play the market either so i am as clueless as you are. but i'll bet some of the other mods like rovo and virgil could help out here.

Maybe we could get one for political/economic terms for posters on the politics board also. Some people get very, very confused on what some terms actually mean.

check into why when you use the name Palin in a post and press spell check it tries to get you to change it to Pain or plain.. probably because Palin isn't in the dictionary? But all you have to do is right click on the word (which is underlined in red squiggles), and select ADD TO DICTIONARY problem solved. However, this isn't an option when you have the spell check window open. you have to do it from the reply area.

I spell check and hit ignore when it asks about changing Palin and when the spell check is finished still no squiggle. How do I get a squiggle?

Conservative - One of God's chosen representatives. Never wrong about anything. Everyone else - Spawn of Satan who hates America, loves terrorists and is a Communist who uses Nazi tactics.

I can assume that a "short position stock" is a stock which will be held for a short time
I guess you probably would need a glossary. A short position stock is one that you "bought" at a certain point in time with the hopes it goes down in price when the short is up, say 30 days. When the short is up its time for you to actually pay for it so if you pay less than what you "bought" it for at the beginning, you keep the difference. You are correct though that it is generally held for a "short" period of time.

I'd like to see my very 1st post on this board but the backward search goes to 1000.
How would I see my first posts?

Day before yesterday I had 117 karma then it went down to 112 yesterday.
What happened?
And finally-- How do I use the invisible smite button?

I think if you put in the 1st pages of threads to go to it will bring you to the first post..I believe {drum roll....bbrrrrrrggg bang ..it was one of mine, a silly nothing , but think it's mine..and work up from there till you find your birth here on the boards. Once found..possible cut/past and have bronzed and put it on the dresser or desk , where ever..don't forget to dust it every now and then .

The "funny accented letters" should now be entirely eliminated.

Moombeam: need some help. The site was having issues the other day and my post would not go through it seemed. I kept clicking to get it to go I finally gave up but lo and behold My post finally showed up three times in a row in (Were you better off now than before). My question is I cannot figure out how to delete button to remove the extra posts. So how can I do it? You have my e-mail address so if you want you can just send me an e-mail, no rush, it just looks like I had had one to many and it looks silly. Thanks Handyman
