What you might believe about another poster is relevant only to you. The ACLU thread was locked. It was locked to prevent further inflammatory discussion. It is not to be continued here. Further references to that thread, or to other posters' lives will be removed. mmhmm, Politics Moderator And yet he posts on and on about himself and his "experience". If you can't reference to his posts, what's the point of them ? You didn't reference his posts. You referenced him, personally, and gave your opinion about him, personally. There's a difference. That said, that's the last that will be discussed here, or anywhere else other than in PMs. Enough. mmhmm, Politics Moderator

My change at where I am eating was $12.12 and my number they gave me was 12. Has anything in your day today topped that?

I got a receipt today from my kitchen manager. 3 $1.00 items, one item for $3.99, 1 for $1.99, and she got Roma tomatoes at $.99/lb and managed to get exactly the weight necessary to make the cost $2.02 for the total to be exactly $11.00. I thought it was cool. Not sure it does or doesn't "top" yours.

My oldest daughter texted me yesterday at noon, that she was getting on a plane. She texted me this morning about 6:30 that she finally landed. She sent me a picture of the mountain range in Alaska. it looked like she stopped at Aklavik in Alaska, but I am not sure that is an airport. She sent me a picture of the world with Dallas on the right side right at the curve and Hong Kong on the left right at the curve of the world. I assume that she went to Dallas, and Hong Kong too. She said she was going to China not HK, but she could have meant HK since it is in China.

Depending upon the type of aircraft and airline, Anchorage is often a refueling stop for some flights originating in the lower 48 states and ending in China, Japan, Korea, etc.

When I lived in Connecticut, I flew NYC to Hong Kong via Tokyo. We flew the polar route though.

I have worked every saturday since the first of march. They are talking about us working some Sundays. That doesn't make much sense though. It takes a bit of time every day to set up to work, so a better option would be ten hour days. A lot more would get done. Sundays are double time. Even at that I don't want to work them but I will if they do. I want to be someone who will work when asked so that when the time comes to let people go, I am thought well of. They say there is work here for ten years, and I only want maybe 7. I don't really understand the retirement stuff, but think I will be worn out sooner rather then later .

With longer daylight hours, ten hour shifts during late spring and during the summer makes sense. But not everyone wants to work ten hour shifts. And if your co-workers are hourly employees, and get double time for working Sundays, there is money to be made.

My mother passed away last February and her mother passed away about 25 years ago. I wonder if they are spending mother's day together for the first time in a long time. It is a nice thought, but I doubt that is how it works.

Do you "like" posts you disagree with? I often 'like' some posters who I think make a good argument, but that I disagree with. Does 'like' mean "I agree" or "that is interesting"?
extra question----> did I use quotes marks correctly above, if not what is correct? I did 'like' both ways, because I don't know.

Many of us use quotation marks sometimes correctly, sometimes incorrectly. One recommendation is to underline or use italics to highlight a word. But here is one article on using single and double quotation marks. Quotation Marks: When to Use Double or Single Quotation Marks

1 in 6 american males between the ages of 18 and 34 was either in jail or unemployed in 2014. I wonder how that will play out for them when they are in their 50s and 60s. Will they still have less then previous generations at that age? www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/05/09/cbo-nearly-1-6-young-men-u-s-jobless-incarcerated/ On the economic side in particular, CBO pointed to the recent recession, technological advances, more women entering the workforce and such debate-inspiring issues as outsourcing and low-skilled immigration.

I used to get math worksheets from a website that had an address something like sssoftware. One day in class a middle school student said he needed a new sheet. I told him to go to the website on the computer he was sitting in front of. He indicated he didn't know how. So I quickly reached over his shoulder, typed in the address, hit enter, turned, took two steps, and heard, "Mr. B*******!!!". I turned back, saw pictures of bare breasted women, hit the screen so it turned away from the rest of the class, checked what I had typed as the address (I had only typed two "s's" which took it to a porn site). I called the parent to inform them of what had happened and to apology. His Dad, who I knew, just laughed. And that is one way to "accidently" look at such pictures.

But, yeah, I was lucky.

I was accidently looking at pictures of topless women on the internet yesterday and one of them had a banner across it that said Mhmmm. How does one "accidently" look at pictures of topless women ? I was using Excel's pivot table function and creating a detailed numerical report for a HR meeting of about 50 people. I changed one of the words in the report which change all of the same words in the report. So I am handing out the 10 page reports to the attendees and asked them to read it later as I wanted to explain the data. They complied with my request. So I am reading off some numbers in the report and noticed in the word I had changed and that was now changed throughout the report on every passed out report that it was missing the letter 'o' from the word 'count'. I casually walked around the room and gathered each and every report from the attendees. None had opened the report. I promised them I would send them a copy of the report through company mail.

I was the first one to like Tennesseer's post above. It now says billsonboard and diogenes and 1 more like it. I feel like I have been relegated to the class of MaryAnn and the Professor.
