Trump is an old man with famously poor health habits and diet. The risk factors for vascular dementia are the same as the risk factors for heart disease. He is likely to age quickly and poorly. I think we are already seeing it. This is the start of his downward spiral, IMHO. He is far worse than 8 years ago. He had the same personality, but he was under better control. Loss of impulse control is an early sign of dementia. I suspect the stress he is under from a legal standpoint may have accelerated his decline. But since the presidency is a stressful job, it isn't like a normal person would age slower. But since Trump doesn't care, it may be better for him. I got curious and went back and started watching bits of Trump's speech from the RNC in 2016. Holy Hell. It doesn't even seem like the same guy.  I mean, it's obviously still Trump, but he is not going off on all these nonsense ramblings where you don't know WTF he is trying to say. Thank-you for posting this.

Why?? Maddow is a rabid anti Trump lefty and Hannity is a rabid anti Harris righty. I've seen both of their shows. What better pair could you ask for. They would ask pointed direct questions and call BS if they wavered at all. So what you are saying Maddow rabidly dislikes trump and Hannity rabidly dislikes Harris. It would have been a better debate if Sean Hannity and Rachel Maddow would have been the moderators. Sean would ask Harris questions and Maddow would ask Trump. That would be interesting. We would get straight honest answers on policies which we still don't know from Harris.
What she did say she was just parroting the Biden policy. Nothing really as to her policies.
for the record, i love this idea. Hannity can ask questions of Harris. Maddow, of Trump. two stipulations: the moderators get to keep asking the question if it remains unanswered, even if it uses up the entire 90 minutes, and opponents can call for fact checking (10) times. I think they would need to book about 3 hours of air time. |

If I'm to assume he is a serious candidate, and am evaluating his performance by watching the debate, I am going to assume anything he says should be valid. A presidential candidate IMO should not be throwing out today's crazy internet memes as part of his answers. It makes me question his judgement, his intelligence, his grasp on reality. |

If I say shit that can't be backed up by facts in my profession I can get fired and rightly so. I can't go about making wild statements that have no evidence backing them and expect to be supported.
Yet when a presidential candidate says it "Well he never said it WAS true therefore it's okay he said it". Shouldn't we want candidates who don't spout every internet conspiracy theory they've read in the past five minutes on their phone?
Shouldn't we WANT something like fact checked? That's a pretty serious thing to say about an entire population of people. A population of people who live in the country this person claims to want to represent.
Is there something in our water supply? Since when did the "Well he never said it was a fact, he just stated what heard and that's not wrong to do" become the god damn bar for information in this country?
IDk if someone comes to me and says people are eating dogs I tend to take the magical machine out of my pocket and use this thing called Google to see where the information came from. This isn't 1980 when I have to believe whatever came out of my crazy ass grandfather's mouth because there is no way to verify his claims if it isn't in the encyclopedia set I have access to.

I just can't tell if the Republican party is for or against cats here (obviously a very important issue in the US). One minute Vance is denouncing the childless cat ladies and the next minute Trump is making Harris's hatred of cats a central point in his campaign.  |

All this time the Republicans keep saying that they don't mind legal immigrants, they just mind the illegal ones because they are breaking the law. So what do they do now? They start attacking a group of legal immigrants, which by all accounts are hard working, faithful people that are filling the churches. Now that community has been completely disrupted. Their attacks and threats have resulted in the school being shut down, county offices shut down, motor vehicle office shut down, because they keep getting bomb threats from unhinged far right zealots. When the moderator said ABC had talked to the city manager in Springfield and there were no credible reports of that happening- but Trump kept insisting he was right, saying he saw it on TV, and finally, when the moderator wouldn’t back down, Trump grumbled’we’ll just see.’ And somehow you think Trump didn’t say it actually happened? I guess this explains why you support Trump. You don’t really listen to him. |
