Did trump brig up the lie Haitian immigrants are eating peoples's pets in Ohio? He did! Repeatedly! The facilitator fact checked him and told him that he talked to the city manager there, who said there were no credible reports about pets being eaten, and Trump spoke over him and insisted that he had seen it on TV! you are kidding me. OMG. I just started hearing about this Haitian immigrant thing.... Can we not suggest that Republicans are taking dogs from shelters across the country (millions of them!) and selling/shipping them to China to be use for human consumption? They are making tons of money from this endeavor since they can acquire the dogs for pennies a pound. And they get the grift from all the donation money people make to shelters as well as paddingtheir pockets with Tax Dollars when local governments provide money for Animal Control workers (which collects up the dogs and delivers them to the shelters) as well as any money spent on maintaining those shelters (where the dogs go in and never come out but are never euthanized). I can totally see Republicans giving those animal control jobs to their relatives and friends or anyone they owe a favor to. I can totally see them "cooking the books" for all the money "spent" to maintain the shelter facility but magically finding it's way into the pockets of the politician's cronies.... tax dollars at work. Usually when trump says that someone else is doing X - he or the Republican party IS actually doing X.

Outside of some wishy washy liberals most Americans want a strong leader one that will project strength she doesn't do it. The Democrats would have been better off not debating after this debate he should be able to take the swing states. It may not show it in the polls but come voting day it will ... I don't think you understand what I'm saying. Perception is everything. He will manipulate her into showing her weakness and yes her laughing the way she does is weakness it's fear of not know how to handle the situation children will do this when they embarrassed. That is how she will be perceived. Trump is a strong leader and a bully that is what makes him so good for the position. Many on here will disagree but the US will need a bully of a president instead of a pathetic pos that Obama was. Didn't see it.

The Borowitz Report
Trump Claims He Has Never Met Kamala HarrisTBR Post-Debate Coverage SEP 11, 2024 PHILADELPHIA (The Borowitz Report)—Concern about Donald J. Trump’s cognitive decline surged after Tuesday night’s debate when he claimed that he never met Kamala Harris. “I’ve never met her, and based on what I’ve been told, I hope I never do, because she seems like a horrible person,” he told reporters. Trump’s incoherent debate performance caused his supporter Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to wonder if the Republican nominee’s brain was hosting a foreign organism. “When he said, ‘They’e eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats,’ I was like, ‘Oh my God, a worm is eating his brain,’” Kennedy said. Trump didn't do as well as I hoped. I'll give the debate 60/40 Harris.

Harris did very well, she was poised, informed, and smooth. I mean trump not even shaking her hand, how childish. He has no policy,no nothing, just the same tired ridiculous stuff that he repeats over and over. Nothing about goals for the country, nothing.
And the dog and cat thing really got me. I mean that made him sound like a total lunatic, I just shake my head anytime I hear him and wonder how anyone with common sense or a mind could even consider that man.

Our local news station was fact checking, and denounced Trump for claiming that babies could be terminated after birth. (Of course, that's not legal in ANY state.) Their political reporter also said he didn't know what to say about the statements about pet eating, implying that's just plain crazy. (Well, it is.) That reporter is going to be spending the night going through statements both candidates made, and doing the true/false test for tomorrow's news. I bet I know who told more whoppers. I would like to know the number of times Trump started on an unrelated topic but wound up railing about the hordes of immigrants (or immigrants eating pets). It was almost the only thing he talked about.

CNN's fact checkers stated trump offered misinformation or outright lied thirty-three times versus Harris' one.

Trump didn't do as well as I hoped. I'll give the debate 60/40 Harris. You and that female poster from South Carolina have eaten too many of your neighbors' pets and ended up with worms eating your brains causing you to think an aged man's cognitive abilities could beat a younger and more experienced candidate. All Trump could offer last night was to make faces like some little kid. Harris was also the adult candidate who first offered her hand to her immature opponent. Not the poor sport and liar trump. trump's cognitive decline is quite evident.

Trump supporters are claiming the moderators were anti Trump because they fact checked Trump a few times - like how it is not legal in any states to kill a baby after birth and that immigrants are not eating cats and dogs.
I guess he should be allowed to lie extravagantly with no consequences.

Does he ever tell the truth? You have to ask? It was a rhetorical question. Anytime he opens his mouth he is lying

Whiney fox news. Fox News hosts decide who lost the debate: ABC News.Left with little to praise about former President Donald J. Trump’s underwhelming debate performance, Fox News hosts quickly focused their ire on ABC News, accusing the network and its debate moderators of skewing their questions to Vice President Kamala Harris’s advantage. Martha MacCallum, who co-anchored Fox’s post-debate coverage on Tuesday night, opened by declaring that Ms. Harris had been given a free pass by the ABC moderators and “was really never held to the fire.” “That falls on ABC,” Ms. MacCallum added, to much agreement from her colleagues around the table. “I think there were moments when it felt like they were helping her out.” Sean Hannity called ABC News “the biggest loser in the debate.” And Laura Ingraham insisted that it was ABC’s intent all along to boost the vice president. “ABC’s goal tonight was to help Kamala Harris,” she said. “And ABC did help Kamala Harris.” Ms. Ingraham also offered a gentle criticism of the former president. “Did Donald Trump miss a few opportunities?” she asked. “Absolutely.” Only Brit Hume, one of Fox’s longest-serving on-air personalities, went beyond simply acknowledging Mr. Trump’s uneven performance. “Make no mistake about it,” he said. “Trump had a bad night.” Still, Fox News was not the only network whose anchors were unsubtle about their view of the debate. Over on MSNBC, Rachel Maddow told viewers that her colleagues were so thrilled with Ms. Harris’s performance that they were debating whether she might have had “the best televised presidential debate performance ever.” Fox News hosts decide who lost the debate: ABC News.

Since the Trump/Harris debate is tomorrow I think we need a thread on it. I think if Trump stays cool he''ll win. He will dominate her. I dont' think he will destroy her but he will be the dominate one. No matter how off topic he may travel she will start to cackle like a hyena and show weakness. Outside of some wishy washy liberals most Americans want a strong leader one that will project strength she doesn't do it. The Democrats would have been better off not debating after this debate he should be able to take the swing states. It may not show it in the polls but come voting day it will Harris chewed him up and ate him for supper.

We do know he is a sore loser. In addition, as people are saying, if you are explaining, you are losing

trump's legacy will be his statement immigrants are eating peoples' pets in Ohio. I didn’t get to watch the last half hour but heard Trump tried to defend his actions around the Central Park five - what could he possibly say about that? He wanted to put to death five kids who were later exonerated. What did he say?

Trump also made interesting statements about China and their cars. Right now, Tesla has a factory in Shanghai and sells to the Japanese market and others from that factory. A Chinese company now owns Volvo and there are two models built in China. The biggest Volvo SUV and am EV. Right now, there aren't Chinese cars being sold in the US. That may change as China just passed Japan as a top exporter of vehicles. According to the article I read 29% of new car buyers of Chinese vehicles buy EVs. Our infrastructure for EVs is still far from robust.

trump has always said Russia would have not started its war with Ukraine if he was president. When asked last night by moderator David Muir if he wants Ukraine to win its war with Russia, trump would not answer Muir's question.
Telling.

I did turn it back on for its final few minutes. So not sure what trump had to offer regarding the Central Park Five.

All Trump had to do was not say that Haitians eat peoples pets and that you can abort babies after they are born. A two year old could have accomplished that feat. All he had to do was keep his mouth shut and stick to whatever his handlers told him to say. How is ABC news skewing things against Trump? There could have been a baboon leading the debate and Trump still would have failed.
