Again, signing a bill saying the farms do not have to give workers shade or water breaks is not denying it. It is really simple. Companies, employers etc shouldn't be forced to do anything that will hurt their bottom line. Would it be in their best interest probably but they shouldn't be forced to either. This is why I hate and I mean I loath unions they are nothing but a parasite to a business. I understand what you are saying, but the reality is Costa Farms among others want this, so they have the option to work their workers to death or into severe medical conditions. Employers should be forced to do things they do not want if it is for the greater good. Any employer who resists giving workers shade and bathroom breaks while picking fruits and vegetables is a bad employer. Crap like this including pay is what started the Farmer Workers of America union many years ago. If America really wants to stay a good country, stuff like this should not happen and should be shot down with prejudice. ETA - I wish you would acknowledge the only reason the bill exists is to give legal cover to employers who want to deny their workers breaks and shade. And that by signing it, DeSantis either agrees with this exploitation or doesn't have the cojones to not sign it and protect some Florida workers. Did you read the bill or just listen to some left wing mouthpiece. The bill is for the "legal" migrant workers to have housing built for them as well as the "shade and water" you all are complaining about. Desantis vetoed the bill for no enough enforcement to keep illegal workers there. How many times on this board when we talk about the illegals, that people mention that if the corporations do not hire them or would be fined the illegals wouldn't come. Here he is saying there is no provision for that. But in true fashion on this board ya'll bitch and complain about the talking point to make your selves look like you all care

Simpler question is "Does Florida have minimum requirements for worker safety when it comes to heat stress, or are they leaving it up to the compassion of employers?" Simple question.

But in true fashion on this board ya'll bitch and complain about the talking point to make your selves look like you all care I have not read the bill and am 99% certain you have not either. What I do know from my personal research is that one county was going to pass a law with minimum requirements of water and shade during a work shift. Not unlike businesses being required to give workers breaks and meal breaks once certain hours are worked. I do care, and it is clear you do not. I am out on disability from heat related problems. I have some idea what they must endure and prior to this was aware of similar bad treatment of ag workers in other states and other countries. I do not think this is something you follow. This Sunday's story for all ages (church) concerned a cofounder of a farmer's union in the 60s. It is a bad conservative habit to think people you disagree with are some weird opposite of what you do. DeSantis signed a statewide bill so the county bill would be superseded if passed. Are you clear on that?

Is it wrong of me to guess it has something to do with the fact some of the workers are migrants? Is it the old RW company over people again?
Especially if those people are considered less than by the RW?

You must adhere to the communist system where your age is based on promotions within the organization verses a younger more deserving coworker based on performance and attendance and also housing subsidies based on the above. Opti you should have immigrated to the USSRR whey back in the 90's to meet your wishes today. You must be a Soviet agent based on your wishes regarding public transport and daily struggles with the mail and stamps.
