I'm back from Denver but woke the first day back with a cold, a nasty one that I'm certain I got on the plane going out. A man 2 seats from me was going through masses of Kleenex, and coughing. Wouldn't be a problem but I need to present two of my photographs at the Fine Arts Club tomorrow evening, and then stick around in case someone wants to buy one or both. I cannot be having symptoms during that time. So I'm trying out various remedies, and resting. I am unpacked, so could be worse.

RANT Remember what I posted earlier this week about activities and tasks becoming "things?" I am paying bills and so far: 1. I was unable to obtain a "security code" in a timely manner to add a second landline billing account so I attempted a chat session. #12 in chat, which I didn't have time for, so I chose the mail option. "We're sorry, we're experiencing technical difficulties. Please try again." Rinse and repeat. 2. The bank hadn't yet posted my night deposits I dropped off this morning, so I finally called just now. THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIND THEM. I am convinced the incompetence of human and computers will be the downfall of society. IA my eye..... Oh, they just called back. Despite the fact they don't open until 10, staff had already grabbed and processed the night deposits by 9. I dropped them at 9:15.

Thanks, debthaven. When the staff member called back, she made sure to tell me we were on a recorded line. Why, to ensure I wasn't terse with her again? Anyway, I took a short walk and am now eating lunch. I think my blood sugar was low.

Still have one project left from my Craft retreat to finish. I hope to work on it this week between life happening. Some work still to do on this one -- several more days/weeks to go as I can only work on it a little at a time. Tiny little beads This week's goals:
* Replace car battery -- it is beginning to give warning signs and I want to replace it before it dies on me. New battery was needed. * Service Appointment -- Pest -- Tuesday* Service Appointment -- HVAC -- Wednesday* House Cleaning -- Friday * Mail off sales tax forms to parish and state Holding off on the state one until after the show next week -- that way only one stamp needed* Meeting -- Wednesday PM * Zoom with J -- Friday * Dinner/Theater with friends -- Friday * Pay Bills -- Utility bills are due as is cell. Plus of course those service/cleaning fees. Upcoming later this month:
* Put a stop mail request in and notify my neighbor in case mail is delivered (I came home to a full mailbox and worried neighbors last month as the post office did not hold my mail as requested and it was overflowing) * Lawn service bill * Meeting -- Wednesday PM (Last one for a few months) * J's birthday -- text/call * Craft show * Mail off sales tax forms to state * Pack for craft retreat * Travel Have a great day all! Will check in when I can.

Me? I'm sitting up and taking nourishment (kidding.) Trying various remedies to reach that sweet spot tonight when I am symptom-free and presenting my works. Right now I'm impatiently waiting on UPS to bring one of the prints I'm to present tonight. I've got to mat and frame it.

Iggy aka IG thanks but that's what we always do in our troupe. Whoever's not in the play helps out for at least one performance, and many people do two. I hope tonight goes well finnime !

Well that (temporarily) missing SS card has started something. I had basically decided that I was done decluttering until the fall. But after finding all those papers that needed shredding I have tackled a few more places and I have been ruthless and I am throwing piles of stuff out. And there have been a few side benefits to all this. One was related to the reason I needed my SS card - it was because of my name change (back to my names on my birth certificate) which I had not addressed in all places. That has been taken care of now but during the process I had to provide both previous and current signatures. Well, I had found a cc payment slip from 1997!!! and that of course had my old signature - good thing that slip had somehow been hiding out as I did not remember what the signature was supposed to look like LOL.
Today another foot of folders/outdated user guides/etc., has found a new home in the recycle bin. Slowly but surely...

I didn't do much today, I am just exhausted from the past few weeks.
DH's group has a concert at the end of June. I am supposed to play the congas because their drummer can't be there. Frankly, I suck! I can read music (not that I need to for this) and I do have a sense of rhythm, but the coordination is MUCH harder than I ever imagined.
I had an extra lesson today. I'm now taking lessons every week. (I was taking them every other week, because money.)
It keeps me off the streets, right?! I also hope learning a new skill will stave off dementia.
I'll be at the theater all afternoon and evening tomorrow, so it'll be a long day.
I'm off Sun and Mon. (It's another long weekend ... May is full of them. This is the last one.)

Yesterday was rainy so a TV day.
Today was cloudy but I am holding off on outdoor work until tomorrow or Sunday. I know I need to weedwack and mow -- yay.
Phoned the Ac company and they had to re-order the parts. The parts company has a new system and the order did not go through.

Had a looooooooooooong day yesterday running errands. I'm sick. So, the activity depleted me completely. I collapsed when I got home and didn't fully awaken until 4 this morning, when it was time to drink coffee and bring Franklin the Dog to the beach. I plan to spend today pretty much in bed except when we take DD out to eat. It's her birthday. I can rally for a couple of hours, I think.

Sick people really should not be going out to eat. That's why other people get sick and why you got sick. A sick person went on a flight.
I see the eye doctor this morning. First patient of the day.
Next week my only obligations are two more early morning doctor's appointments. One with the dermatologist for an all body skin check and one with the plastic surgeon about getting the cancer off my nose,

Sounds like everyone busy, and debthaven having fun!
Hope you feel better soon finninme!
I was only able to get 3 scant boxes together for the giveaway and even that was a huge struggle. Gave away the iron I hadn’t used in years now I want one, lol!
Work has been brutal. New boss is bent on pushing in changes on everything, large and small, it was performance eval season and I have 4 direct reports and 4 indirect and new boss decided to change/expand a lot and we all had to redo things after thinking it was done. This was seen as a red flag to our larger team 30+ and people are worried.
Having one of our large stakeholder meeting yesterday/today. Yesterday was 6:30-5:30 in meetings. Took 2 of my reports out for a drink afterwards. I knew they wanted some reassurance or more info on where things are headed with the new boss. I tried to give them info, and the positive POV without crossing any lines on what I should/shouldn’t say as a manager. But I think I did a good job on threading that needle.
Got a few necessary chores done when I got home at 8. Meeting continues today. Taking a 4 day weekend with Memorial Day. Hanging on by a thread till then. Insomnia is back with the stress of new boss. Raises and bonus next month, once the money is cleared, will start looking for opportunities to slack. Promoting 2 on the team, and so can hand over a bit of work with that.

Getting a late start today as I over slept. I managed to get everything done on my weekly list except the outing with my friends scheduled last night. The play was cancelled as the theater had no electrical power. Like soupandstew in the Houston area, we were also hit with tropical storm winds and rain Thursday night and several areas were without electrical power most of Friday and even into this morning. I lost power about three hours during the height of the storm but it was back about 3am Friday. The wind forced open my french doors and at midnight in the dark I moved my dining room table against them to keep them closed. There it remains and will remain for a while as I have to be out of town in a few weeks and will keep it there while I am away as a precaution again heavy winds. I am continuing work on that last craft retreat project as well as on my crochet project that I started shortly before the last trip. Slow going but little progress is better than none. While the house cleaning was being done yesterday, I tackled a box of papers I had upstairs (I only have them clean the downstairs) and managed to throw out about half of them. Afterwards, I brought down the bags I will be using on the trip to my next craft retreat and starting gathering items to pack. (I try to do carry on only for this adventure.) Have about two weeks to get things ready. I now have a stay -at - home craft area as well as a bag of duplicates for away crafting events. I do have a few items that I only have one of and need to remember to pack them the day before I leave. I managed to clean out the freezer in the garage and it is now unplugged for the summer. I do keep it propped open during this time to air it out. Upcoming:* Put a stop mail request in * Lawn service bill (either Monday or Tuesday) * Meeting -- Wednesday PM (Last one for a few months) * J's birthday -- text/call (Tuesday week) * Craft show -- Thursday * Mail off sales tax forms to state (a few days after Thursday) * Schedule a nail appointment -- Mani/Pedi (After craft show) * Notify my neighbor in case mail is delivered (before I leave) * Lawn service bill (either Monday or Tuesday) * Pack for craft retreat --ongoing * Travel -- (Wednesday week)

We've rearranged activities so we will not be going out. Instead, DH will pick up a couple of things and we'll see DD and she'll open her presents. We'll have cake. Tomorrow, will get a meal to bring home for all of us. You have a good point, TheOtherMe . ETA I have been wearing a mask everywhere. I'm sure it looked strange at the presentation, but not really. Everyone is used to seeing people in masks.

finnime Thank you. You probably know I mask everywhere. Today at the eye doctor, the mask got tested. The tech who fit my new glasses was sniffling and coughing and should not have been there. As promised, everyone I came in contact with was masked. Eye doctor confirmed I will have lots of bruising and swelling when the skin cancer comes off my nose because of the location. Glasses are order but she said if they don't get here before the surgery, don't pick them up until the swelling has gone down.

Today is a rest day because this week has been intense. Tons work stuff I volunteered at the food bank Thursday and then went to a meeting an hour out of town. Friday morning I volunteered at the coffee shop starting at 7am and had only 4 hrs sleep. Friday afternoon was working at the farmers market which was slow and I got to bring the puppy along. Saturday morning another shift at the coffee shop (this time at 8am) and Monday I’m hosting a meeting in town. Whew.
Basically I’ve just been doing the minimum at home and keeping myself and the animals fed. A church in town brought each volunteer at the food bank a tray of enchiladas this week which was very kind and helped me avoid meal prep this weekend!
Our weather has also turned very nice so I started filling up the pool and letting it collect rainwater. Lincoln is learning to swim and pretty much every afternoon when it reaches 80-85° you’ll find me out there.

I have a house epic going on right now.
As you all know the brains of my heat pump and the a/c unit went out along with needing to replace the sensor. The order did not go through last week Friday, they re- ordered the parts on Thursday. ( I seriously hope the order went through this time.)
So I have been using my Propane fireplace as a heat source with us having cooler weather in the mid upper 40's at night and it's been in the low 50's during the day.
Yesterday at 6AM I was woken by a Carbon Monoxide detector going off closest to the fireplace. I had to open every single window and door to the house and I ended up turning off the tank outside. I went back inside after about 1 hour and things seemed good until I smelled propane. I than ended up calling the propane company and someone finally arrived about noon. They tested the tank and it's good no leaks but they had to lock the tank until I can get someone out to check the fireplace. I phoned 2 people; The propane company gave me #'s to and neither is available until Monday. So I am without any heat except for blankets, clothing or if I get a electric heather. I am thankful my new water heater is in good condition. So my monitor went bad. The other 2 monitors have not gone off. I guess that's why you have multiples.
On top of that I went to McD's and spent over $10.14 on a egg McMuffin meal that only had 1 hashbrown. I swapped out the coffee for orange juice.
Not sure what I am going to do today. I finally closed several windows, but I still have 4 cracked just in case.
So 1 have a quiche in the oven.
1 load of laundry is on the washer. I have another load after.
I plan to handwash dishes

For today, I have seven non-routine tasks/chores I want to complete. It's supposed be mid-60ºF.
I have ten other tasks/chores that will definitely wait for Monday or Tuesday.

I've done two loads of laundry this morning.
Until this surgery is over, anything I do is a win.

snapdragon BTDT with the carbon monoxide detector going off and of course it had to be wintertime. DH didn't seem to be worried, but I was so freaked out I stayed at a hotel until the issue was resolved. Nice lists, azucena and moneysquirrel! We returned from camping midafternoon yesterday. I squeezed in 3 loads of laundry (I didn't fold them which I will probably regret today), filled and started the dishwasher, handwashed some dishes, prepared boiled eggs and other lunch food items, refilled ice trays and the Keurig, and made sides to accompany DH's delicious grilled teriyaki steaks. Time to kick butt here at the office in preparation for the 3-day weekend.
