After culling summer clothes I donated a bag of clothing that didn't fit or I just was done with. Fourteen pieces out the door.

Iggy aka IG - a friend tried to give me an air fryer and I declined because of the size. We have our favorite meals. I also bought an Instapot that I used a couple of times and haven't used in a year. I absolutely love my air fryer, but I get what you mean about the size. Plus, it's rather heavy. I use ours a few times a week, and when I know I'm not going to, or if the housecleaner is coming, I stash it under the kitchen banquette. It's amazing how much counter space opens up. A few months ago, I donated the Cuisinart 5-in-1 Griddler DH bought me years ago to replace something that had worn out. I'm sure it cost him at least $100, but I only used it maybe twice? I did try selling it online for $20 and had no offers. I still have guilt about that one. I'm sure I could've used it more often, but it was a pain to clean. Sharon and finnime , good job with the donations! The weather here went from the mid-50's to the 80's basically overnight, so I will rotate clothing this weekend. My side of the closet is a mess, and we need to get to the mobile window AC unit to set it up this weekend. ETA: This morning (still working on that morning attitude): -Did dishes -Took out the trash -In the office an hour early This afternoon: -Pickup neighbor kiddos from the bus stop for their last day of school -Snack plate and toss the football around with them

I'm going to hire the organizer for a session in June. Things have gotten too cluttered around here and I can't motivate myself to do what I need to do.
That's probably because I am still freaking out about the cancer.

I forgot to add this morning I also put my current insurance ID card in my vehicle (only 8 months late, oops!) and shredded the old insurance and registration cards.

The job is still pending my background check, which they said is taking longer due to living out of state 4 years ago. They’ve also contacted 2 of my references so that’s a good sign!
Today I volunteer at the food bank so I’m trying to rest my feet beforehand so I can do 3 hrs of walking without too much pain later.

We had to get a new stove last year. The oven was taking forever to light. It was 22 years old so I was not trying to repair. I use the air fryer feature on the new stove more often than the air fryer. I do still like my air fryer but cleaning is a pain. I can also see using the actual air fryer more in the summer to not heat up the kitchen.

I ended up getting a new phone yesterday. I had inherited my dad's phone and was going to trade it in for credit, but it was not new enough! It was an iPhone 7! I knew my phone would not have any value but I did check. So, I spent about 1.5 hours at the store. I was thankful that it was in the middle of the week and school was not out yet.
I did some weeding last night and I swear that one of the neighbor's dogs just hates having someone living in this house. Everytime I am outside they start going off on me. I am not even close to the fence!
I have come to the realization that I need to actually buy some rock salt and use it instead of vinegar in the driveway and other areas. I am waiting on contacting several people about quotes on outside things. I just need to send nudges they have been here, but nothing has shown up in my e-mail. So probably Friday for that.
I got the bedding switched and laundry done so that was 1 good deal done.
I need to weedwack.
Need to get the skylight shades done and the ladder out of the house this weekend.

My contractor called and said he will be here tomorrow to work on the yard yet again. I don't know if this will ever be finished.

startsmart thank you for volunteering. wvugurl26 I like using the air fryer in the summer for that very reason. snapdragon you've been busy! TheOtherMe I hope the work is going smoothly. Well, after a rough start this morning here at the office, things have calmed down. Very grateful it's Friday. This weekend's list in no particular order: -The usual laundry, dishes, and restocking -Assemble the chaise lounge -Prepare for the moving of the home office desk -Rotate seasonal clothing and purge anything I didn't wear over the winter Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.

snapdragon my kids gave me a reconditioned iPhone 7 six years ago ... it stopped working properly after 2 years. It wouldn't hold a charge anymore so I carried a charger everywhere lol. Two years ago I really had to replace it. The guy at the Apple store asked me what I wanted. I said, an iPhone 11. The 13 (maybe the 14?!) had just come out. He laughed, he said the 11 is old, we don't have any left! I said, are you SURE?! Because that's what I want. He liked my accent so he checked ... turns out they had ONE iPhone 11 left in the store, in a color I didn't like. I got it anyway LOL. ETA: Funny but old clip from two old UK comedians: (Turn off the subtitles, they're wrong.)

I have put up some bird window shields last night. I also sewed 2 pillowcases and created shades for the 2 skylights. I am phoning a neighbor to do a ladder check while I put them up.

Well the height on the ladder got to me. I couldn't go up where I needed to be. I think part of it is that it was an extending ladder. If I had a A frame I wouldn't be so spooked. But I did try climbing and had a neighbor spotting me. -- Luckily her son is back in a week and he has no issues with heights. Plus he's beanpole skinny and over 6 feet so he'll have a longer reach.
It will still get done before my chairs arrive.

We hosted end of year teacher staff party for DH's work. It required very little pickup bc we've both been keeping the house in good shape. We typically clean up again right after the party and reset everything bc we're usually still running on adrenaline. Just need to empty and run the dishwasher one more time since we don't use disposables.
Next sat, my husband is throwing himself a 45th birthday gaming party. I'll help set up and then make myself scarce.

What is a bird window shield? It's like a sticker/window cling you put on your windows so birds don't fly into the glass. Mine are a white leaf design. They have been hitting my upper windows and it's a very jarring. Both for the bird and me hearing it. Luckily, I haven't seen any bodies, and I didn't want to. Since I put them up Friday I haven't had any birds launching themselves into the glass.

I'm very glad you didn't take any risks snapdragon ! DS2 and E came over for a late birthday lunch for him. He was THRILLED with his gift (a BBQ)! I'm WFH for 3h this week. ![](https://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff155/JiminiChristmas/ymamsmiles/party.gif) It's always feast or famine but I'm very happy for a quiet week. ETA: DS2 moves into his new apt this week. He came for lunch today and loaded up all the Stuff he was gifted at Christmas, so that's out of the house. He couldn't fit the huge plant DS1 gave him into his car. We'll bring it to him at some point. (Our car is bigger.)

My "teaching shelves" are a mess. The weather has been just awful here. It's supposed to get better this week so I hope to burn a bunch of papers in the fire pit one evening.
ETA: It's not too cold tonight, and I LOVE a good fire, so I just went through my Job 1 papers! And then I went through my Job 2 papers! It took me an hour to do both.
I could probably cull more, but it's already a big improvement, so I'm calling it good enough for now.
ETA 2: There are also papers for both schools that I need to keep until Sept. Sometimes parents threaten to sue when their Young Genius doesn't get in, so the schools ask us to keep our notes from the interviews until Sept.
I organized everything so I can burn those papers come Sept.

I've put another five pieces of clothing in the donation pile. I know I can keep going as my weight is up so high and so many of my clothes don't fit. However, I bought like 18 yards of fabric to make outdoor curtains.
In looking for a pair of earrings I hadn't found since an out of town trip three weeks agao, I cleaned up my jewelry box. Lots of non-usable stuff that I was sure "I'll use it someday" went in the trash.
I've used a lot of the lemon party decorations to decorate the upstairs playroom.
I'm preparing for a casino-themed party on July 30th. That's where the outdoor curtains come in. However, I'm designing them to also work for Christmas time. This week for deep cleaning is cleaning up the garages.

I wanted to say, I went to Job 1 twice last week, by train. (I drive to Job 2.)
It was rush hour both ways. It was so crowded I couldn't get a seat there or back.
Do you want to know how many people were wearing a mask? Exactly one ... me! Both ways, both days, I was the only one!!!
I'm not scared of Covid. But I have been sick SO MUCH LESS OFTEN since I started masking on public transport! I honestly don't understand why other people don't do the same, be it for Covid or any other illness.
I'm asthmatic, and I have COPD from smoking so I'm prone to bronchitis, sinusitis and pneumonia. Again, it's not Covid, I just want to avoid getting sick!
ALL my Asian students ALWAYS masked on public transport, WELL before Covid!
I was shocked at being (literally) the only person wearing a mask on a train that was so crowded there were no seats, both ways, two days in a row.
Now that the interviews are over there, I will only need to go in one day/week next semester. I'll still be wearing a mask. The train ride is 20m, which is eminently doable.

This weekend was mostly yard work. I did make two runs today with yard debris. Now I need to clean my car. I have a SUV and put the seats down and then put down some old picnic table table clothes. I pile in the yard debris and when I get to the (transfer station is the official term) I just have to pull out the table cloth and all the stuff dumps down onto the ground. Now I need to clean my car out from the dirt that doesn't always stay confined to the table cloth. My washing machine decided to die Friday evening. This is were living in a small town gets so frustrating. There aren't the choices of appliance stores. There is supposed to be a good one in the next town over. I will go there Monday. This evening I went to Home Depot and got so mad at the guy I just walked out.

Just coming here again. Not been here much. I did before coming up to Washington for a month or so, will be going back home next week or the next.
I dread it, I know I have all kinds of landscaping to clean. Then I need to start decluttering for moving again. I have gotten rid of tons of clothing, shoes, some purses, fabric. Have cleared out all the staledated purchased canned goods and will some home canned items before moving. I need to go through more fabric, sell a bunch of jars. I will keep my big canners and maybe 6 to 10 dozen jars and a few big prep pans, the rest will go. We are also using down stored supplies and not adding any. I have taken box after box and bags of books to Goodwill or the donation bins. I'm about done with those.
While I am decluttering I'm going to gather items I am going to try and sell. We are rural but I'm going to try and have a moving and yard saled, we may be able to sell some. There is just no way we are going to try and move all that stuff. If I can't sell it, guess it will be donated. I hate to have to do it. But it will cost us at least $1200 or more to drive out and back with each load, plus all the miles about 3600 added to the truck. I have been putting a lot of odds and ends out by the road and people stop and take them. So that may work.
So when I get home we have our work cut out for us. Once our last renter moves, we are going to move the items we want to move into that house so we can put ours up for sale. We may bring a few pieces up and replace the stuff we bought here from resale places and get rid of it. We are trying to minimize how much stuff we move twice.
No matter what we buy here it will be smaller. One reason is price, very expensive here, but the other is our age. We don't need 1800 SQ ft upstairs and a finished basement of 1800 SQ ft. I'm hoping to find something in the 1900 SQ ft plus or minus range with a 2 car garage. A 4 bedroom would be perfect, but we can make do with 3 if we have to. We have 4 acres, want to go down to 1/2 to 1 acre. Would be nice to have an extra garage, but if the price is right we can build one. I think we will have to pay between $500 to $550k to get what we want. But we need to see what we can sell ours for before deciding on a price. I don't want to dip very deeply into investments or at all if we can keep from it. We have our home to sell, MIL's old place, and the modular we bought up here, so hoping to get enough out of them to replace our house. And though we can do repairs, we would prefer to find one mostly move in ready so we don't have to. A lot will be going on in the next year as we don't move as fast as we used to.
Also I have been cleaning things here so when we sell it we can get a decent price. Hubs painted the exterior and I have been cleaning on the lawn. It's in an over 55 park and I like it here. If only it had another bedroom and a nice sized garage, this would work. I do love it here and its safe, but just to small. But its about a mile and a half from son and family and on Black Lake so a nice area and place.
Well, wrote a book, but that is the plan. Will be back with updates when I get home and get busy. I'm tired thinking about it, LOL!

I just noticed that the word that is defined as a "site for depositing garbage" has been removed from my post. Must be because of the closeness in spelling to a former president.

[snip] - The usual laundry, dishes, and restocking- Assemble the chaise lounge - DH did this for me while I cooked supper -Prepare for the moving of the home office desk - Haven't revisited this - Rotate seasonal clothing and purge anything I didn't wear over the winter - Done. No winter tops went into the donation pile, but one t-shirt did. And I told my DH and neighbor friend if I mention I need more clothes, they could smack me. So many clothes!!!! snapdragon thank you for the window shield information. Birds, especially hummingbirds, also like to launch themselves into our windows. A few weeks ago, one managed to knock itself out and fell two stories. DH went downstairs to feed it some sugar water, and by the time he got down there, the bird flew away. Knee Deep in Water Chloe casino night sounds like so much fun! This weekend: -An easy 3 loads of laundry -Emptied 3 trash cans -Scrubbed 1 toilet -Emptied, refilled, and started the dishwasher twice -Refilled napkins, PTs, Keurig, and ice cube trays -Removed the two portable AC units from storage so DH could set them up -Picked up all of the clothes off the floor and items that were draped over the rod on my side of the closet, I then put away all of my jewelry. It looks SO good in there! -Made numerous delicious meals, weekly meal prepped, and planned suppers -The chaise looks so good in my home office/fort! To be continued....
