AKA as rationalizing a purchase in a unique way.
So this morning, a pair of booties came onto my Facebook feed. I have been drooling over these, but at $399 that’s a pretty strong Nope, even with a 25% discount.
Black Friday special, they are 40% off. That’s easier to swallow, but for $239? I don’t think so. Then I realized that I double paid my visa this month, so have a $160 credit on it. $239-160 means those booties are now $79. I bought them.

That ain't girl math, that's a type of accounting that ignores credits and prepaids and only pays attention to cash outflows and inflows. Men fall for that too, but let's not get into how long it took them to develop accrual accounting or how foolish they can be.
You deserved to be slapped with a wet noodle, twice. First for being a fool and secondly for slandering my sex with this "girl math" balderdash. You've found a childish way of justifying something. I'll laugh with you for a few seconds but the moment you start saying that this foolishness is because you are female, I will cut you dead.

I looked at the link and I agree with Andie - your reasoning is correct. Up until recently I would receive GCs from my bank just for regular banking activities. I got to chose the GC I wanted. Then I would turn around and sometimes buy something I needed but more often something that I just wanted. It was "free" after all. Why chose practical grocery store cards when you can get that very nice sweater instead.  |

Due to future moving plans I already have to pass on several items i'd really like to have but there is that pesky 110V/220V difference and while I would use the item a few times a year, that is just not enough. I would buy it basically to give it away to strangers. So for me girl, please do my part  |

BTW…..I hate to tell you all this but once you click on the link, the boots will show up in your FB feed regularly, tempting you.
Add to this that Dooney closed at the outlet mall, and I’ve not been able to get my purse fix for the last few years . A brand came cross my feed called Radley. I got a message yesterday saying “we noticed you’re looking, we will add an extra 10% off”…..of 50% off.
Not fair! I bought the boots, how much more?

I just want to say I love the booties and want them in one of the reds, or the blue or moss or gray. And I also love the nail gel, especially the deep palette, but really any of them pretty much. I have been lured to the dark side.
