Daily Beast has the 49 page indictment. They also indicted his valet, Walt Nauta.
Glancing through I was impressed at how black and white it seems. They have photos or witnesses or text messages to confirm all of it.
Zero fluff.
This will be interesting.

This is big news.
ABC interrupted its normally scheduled program at 12:50 central time. I watched it until 1:20 and then a nap overtook me. Woke up at 2:25 and ABC is still covering this breaking news.

LOL! that is such a ...... hoarder thing to do. M They have a picture of bunch of the boxes with one of the dumped over, contents spilling out, one of them they identified as a classified document. And they hauled the boxes all around MAL, took some to Bedminster, dropped some in the Pine Hall - such stupidity.

The Independent is reporting that Trump is doing his usual ‘attack the prosecution’ bullshit. Called him a deranged lunatic and psycho.
Hate to be one of his lawyers right now. Although two of them quit after the indictment came through. Probably because Trump is the very worst possible type if client who ignores all advice.
And he doesn’t pay his legal bills.

would love to hear your takeaway, swamp . He’s fucked. Do you think he'll be held with(out) bond on Tuesday, or will he be allowed to walk around free while he awaits trial?

Let's hope it's ASAP. God knows trump deserves it. I said at the beginning of all of this: "If this ends in any way other than Trump being executed, it will be insufficient." I may hate him as much or more than anyone anywhere, but it cannot be denied that he has given all of us enough reason through the years to hate him without hesitation.

Let's count Trump's current criminal charges against him.
Mar-a-lago documents: 37 active felony counts.
Stormy Daniels payoff: 34 active felony counts.
The guy is sure going to be busy in state and federal courts.

I've got no problem with that. They can be permanently housed in all those vacant WalMart buildings which were at the center of a conspiracy theory a few years back. Let's make it true. Fact Check: Walmart Locations Are NOT Military Bases Interconnected By Underground Tunnels

Do you think he'll be held with(out) bond on Tuesday, or will he be allowed to walk around free while he awaits trial? He won’t be held. The only factor to be considered is flight risk. Although he may have to surrender his passport.

Trump won't flee to Slovenia (home country of Melania) as we have an extradition treaty with them. Melania might be packing hers and her parents bags for a return to their home country with or without her criminal husband.

it took the FBI FOURTEEN months before they opened an investigation. if Trump had returned the documents ANY TIME during that period, he would have skated on these charges, even though there was SIGNIFICANT criminality prior to April 2022.
he is a self absorbed idiot.

i can't figure out what the 30000 emails comment on page 21 is about. anyone care to step in and help? I think that was where Trump was praising the Clinton admin who went in and deleted all those 30,000 emails that disappeared, and then when questioned about them, told the feds that he deleted all of them because they were just emails about going to the gym or out to eat - essentially taking the blame in order to take the fall for Clinton. Essentially Trump was praising a Clinton person who did something illegal for Clinton and fell on his sword for her (or at least, this is how Trump perceived it).

i saw one of Trump's FORMER attorneys interviewed about the documents, and he said something interesting that shoots a hole in PART of what i have been saying on this thread.
if Trump made COPIES of the NON-CLASSIFIED materials, then he is allowed to have those. that makes sense.
when it came to the classified material, he was way cagier. he said "i would have to see it". i took it from that, and other comments he made that the classified material would have to be declassified for Trump to have EVEN COPIES in his possession.
the indictment seems to indicate the same thing. that is why there was SUCH an interest in the classified material. although the unclassified material is also POTENTIALLY a problem, the classified material is CLEARLY a problem.
did i get any of that wrong?

The records themselves still belong to the government and must be returned. Copies of non-classified material should be okay, but copies are not even supposed to be made of classified documents outside of official channels, as far as I can recall.
