I ended up making a grilled cheese sandwich. And now I'm working on what DH will tell me is ridiculous but a list of the remaining days in July we will be home to eat. We are away every single weekend and have a baseball game and a birthday dinner so that's two more nights of not eating at home.
This is where I struggle when I need to buy a small quantity so things aren't wasted. I can do the we are out of everything buy all the usual stuff and figure out meals in my sleep.

Steak fajitas tonight. Still have instant pot beef stroganoff, beans & cornbread, and shrimp pasta for the menu, but don't know what days they will be. Chicken nachos Friday. That'll get me to about Tuesday depending on leftovers. Gives me time to menu plan and grocery shop again.

I never made the stir fry, and just pitched the near-liquefied beans sprouts (that had a sell-by date of *yesterday* no less. thanks, Whole Paycheck ) I'm not feeling stir fry now, it's hot and muggy AF and I don't want all that salt. I'm not even all that hungry, so who knows. I might repeat last night and cook a Morningstar spicy black bean burger. wvugurl26 - I keep frozen black bean burgers and turkey burgers, for nights like what you described. I know you've got some food restrictions, but I'd like to think there are some options you can have. I can't remember what the fillers are on hte Butterball turkey burgers, for instance. if there aren't, maybe mix up burgers and individually wrap for the freezer? that way, if it's just you for a random night home between trips/games/whatever, just cook one off and you're done.

I did have turkey burgers made up at one point. I ate all of those. I made my big list last night and at least figured out this week and Sunday night.
I also feel the comment about produce going bad in no time. I bought a pack of romaine at BJs today and was excited it looked good in the cooler. The last time I had to pick the best of what they had. Salads are on the menu for lunch this week.
Wednesday night was air fryer chicken thighs, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy.
Thursday night will be leftover chicken thighs. I'll probably come up with different sides tomorrow.

I ended up making steak and veggie stir-fry last night and served it with the remaining mini wontons from the freezer.
It's official: We are going to put in an offer on a home tomorrow and soon put our current home on the market, so clearing out the freezer will be even more of a focus the next few months.

good luck with the offer/listing!
tonight is going to be pork chops with mashed potatoes and roasted broccolini. I've got a package of 6, bought on sale. I'll cook 4 unseasoned for the pups, the other 2 seasoned somehow.
tomorrow, I need to do something with the package of thin-sliced BSCB. maybe I'll make piccata. it's not a very big package.

Last night's supper used two salmon fillets and half of a bag of breaded okra from the freezer. DH pulled 3 packets of locally raised ground beef for the hobo burgers as the neighbor kiddos' mom, dad and uncle will eat with us. I'll pull out a pork loin for DH to grill/smoke Sunday. It will be interesting when it comes time to pack and move as we have a deep freezer full of the half of a pig and the garage freezer full of beef. And, no, had we known we were going to move, we wouldn't have bought either.

today turned into a much longer day than anticipated, and I said eff it and ate out. I met mooch and M at the sports bar near her house (on my way to pick up the pups) and had a cup of chicken rice soup and ordered a small pizza to go. we each had 3 drinks over a couple hours, and I grabbed the full tab. $85 including tip. we're regulars there, so it was a typically generous tip. and I have most of the pizza to pick at tomorrow.

Did meal planning and grocery shopping this past week. While we are fortunate that we can afford things at current prices, there are still quite a few things that give me sticker shock I have been trying to trade down as often as possible when it makes sense. A couple of years ago I started a list. Of things that I regularly cook. When we find new recipes we like they get added to the list. This way I can just hand DH the notebook and tell him to make a menu. Takes some of the planing off my proverbial dinner plate. Tonight is jalapeno popper chicken casserole, funeral potatoes, and green beans with bacon. I wouldn't have chosen two cheesy/creamy casseroles but hey, I didn't make the menu plan so I'm not going to complain too much. 1lb bscb - $3 on sale with DH's discount 8oz cream cheese - $2 two 8oz blocks of cheddar cheese- $4 bag of hasbrown potatoes - I think about $3 can of condensed soup - about $1.50 sour cream - $2 bacon - roughly $3 on sale with DH's discount onion - about 50 cents fresh green beans - $3 jalapeños - from the garden. Which means it would have been cheaper to buy them from the store spices - say a quarter Looks like $22.25 for dinner. Definitely not the cheapest meal. Half of the potatoes are in the freezer for another day though. And we will have leftovers. Still, pricier than I'd like. Trading the potatoes for either rice or noodles would have helped the cost. But, that's the way it goes some days.

two 8oz blocks of cheddar cheese- $4Wait....what? That's a steal! Where is this? $2 for an 8oz block of cheddar cheese. Generic. American. Probably full of GMO's and hormones and antibiotics. At the discount big box store. Deep south. Very low COLA compared to the rest of the US. Even though my metropolitan area is higher COLA than the surrounding metro areas. Also pay taxes on top of that two bucks. No tax free groceries in this state. 8 to 10 percent depending on where I shop. I mean, it's not New Zealand grass fed white cheddar But it's good enough for a couple of casseroles.

That why thre was such an issue with the new NAFTA. Trump wanted to send a lot of milk to Canada and the Canadians weren't having it. Nope, nope nope! We don't want your milk. So dairy farmers in the US were having to throw their milk away. We pay taxes on prepared food only, like rotisserie chicken. Meat, dairy and produce not taxed. People have to eat. Tax on food is criminal.

Even the Kraft Macaroni and Cheese has to be different to be sold in Canada. The powdered cheese HAS to be antibiotic and hormone-free. They're real sticklers about that.

Sunday night grilled hot dogs, corn on the cob and baked beans.
There will probably be a repeat for lunch one day this week. Then I'll package up the rest of the hot dogs and freeze them.
I need a plan for Monday/Tuesday. Wednesday night we leave for our anniversary trip.
I keep a notebook of what we've had. I flip through for inspiration when I'm stuck.

dinner tonight is in the oven - a frozen veggie lasagna portion. zero dishes, zero cooking. I'm exhausted from the brunch spread I put out this am.
I haven't figured out the week yet, but it will be easygoing. I've got leftovers of everything from this morning. there's also a package of thin sliced chicken breast that will likely turn into chicken piccata at some point.
