My first update in two weeks, and it’s not great. Scale 212.5 this morning. Up 3 from two weeks ago. On the plus side, I did really dig in this week and I’m down from where I was just Monday morning. Doing good on water and diet; not great on exercising. Really need to make time for myself and that. Need to find some videos or something I can sneak down to the basement and do in 20-30 minutes. Tomorrow I’m bringing my swim stuff to work, then hitting the Y on my way home.
In our closet, right when you walk in, I hung a couple of special-to-me shirts I haven’t been able to wear in a long time. Using them as motivation to stick with my challenge and make my health a priority. Wish me well!

Goals- Mon, Tuesday, Thursday and maybe Friday weights/work out at home. Doing better with taking the vitamin/iron. I am not weighing myself right now, and not going to stress what I am eating. I want to get my strength back first and then will work on losing the weight I want to. Goals are pretty much the same, I got Monday and Thursday in last week. Will try for 3 or 4 days this week. Getting back to not sitting as much at work could help too. They brought in podium chairs to my class rooms when I got back in Dec, I should try and not use them as much.

Nervously peaking in... I am at a stage in life where before, getting stressed out meant losing a bit of weight, now it starts piling on. Neither is good, but I feel like the excess is starting to affect my overall health, so I am trying to get a better grip on it. Making plans and setting up goals has been a mixed bag. It's as if once I set a goal, the little devil on my shoulder just says, "challenge accepted" and it turns out worse than if I didn't say anything at all. So, I have to try different strategies, need to mix it up a bit to motivate myself. Hope you figure it out for yourself as well. Many gentle hugs. Hang in there!

I'm down 2.6 lbs from last week. Diet in earnest for the win, though I relaxed it a bit over the weekend (had takeout steak/mashed potatoes with a teeny bit of wine Saturday and ribs on Sunday). I also discovered this week that I can run 1/2 hour straight without stopping. I hadn't done that since I was 16 yo.
Have a great week, all!

Ended January with a 5.6-pound loss. I'd lost the 10 I put on from having bronchitis and holiday season, but I gained a few back.
Hugs to everyone.

Sorry Kids, not doing well right now. DH got Covid, and apparently I've been stress eating. I know I've been eating my last meal of the day later than usual, plus, I'm not getting all of my exercise time in. Doesn't take long to undo all of the good done previously, which is annoying.

hugs, busymom. don't be too hard on yourself while you're caring for DH. try to minimize the damage, but don't stress about making progress either. I'm back from my cruise, where I typically end up losing weight because I have had enough allergic reactions to things I shouldn't have to worry about, that I just pack snacks and don't eat much after breakfast. this trip, though - lots of things that were missing allergy warnings, other stuff that just wasn't okay....but the vegan area always had grilled vegetables and there were also always roasted potatoes as well (both "new this year"). so I actually think I ate more on this boat than I have since the trip moved to NCL. grilled veggies and roasted potatoes, sometimes with a grilled chicken breast if they didn't looked too dried out on the burger bar, were pretty much every meal last week. but hey, I ate, and it wasn't a slice of nasty pizza here and there. I came home Saturday night with either a norovirus or food poisoning, but I was fine on Monday morning. still getting my appetite back, though. as of this morning, I was down 4lbs from before the boat. there's still salt bloat left to flush based on what my ankles still look like, but maybe not as much of an overall net loss as usual since I actually ate last week. idk. I haven't made it back to the Y since coming back, and tomorrow is Friday. I might try to go Saturday morning for a bit after feeding the pups. no guarantees, though. in one of the ports, my group did an excursion where we hiked what felt like 10 miles straight vertical before we could jump into waterfall lagoons all the way back down. I survived, a little easier than some of my group. but that was eye-opening how out of shape I actually am now, woof. half my group (of 8) was hung over, one lady got car sick on the ride, and the remaining three of us were the big ladies. at one point halfway up, we paused for a breath and joked about the life choices that brought us to the side of a mountain in the Dominican Republic where we would likely die. anyway, I survived, so there is hope for me yet! this is where we went - 27 Waterfalls of Damajagua

Really need to change the weight trend. I just have been feeling blah lately.
Not going to set goals this week again. I am going to work on drinking more water and consuming less empty calories.

Good morning!
Down 0.8 from last week. That makes me right on track for the 1/lb per week loss that I penciled into my calendar.
My running training didn't go great this week. Friday's run was longer than anticipated (and they felt hard all week), so I rested Saturday and also missed yesterday. We went to a car show in the afternoon, stopped at a couple stores on the way home, and didn't have much time until planet fitness closed. Our family gym is closed on Sundays, and I was not about to try running on icy sidewalks in the dark. Not to mention I was absolutely beat. I did make up for it by doing my kettlebell workout at home, guilting my husband into working out as well with the fancy adjustable dumbbells he bought around Christmas. Anyway, after that/shower I was doubly beat and so comfy under the new Ugg comforter we bought that afternoon, I actually fell asleep early. That's pretty unusual for me as I tend to have trouble falling asleep.
Feeling pretty good today, working from home with the sun shining outside. Hope you all have a great week!

Sorry to hear you had norovirus, chiver78. That's awful stuff. I threw up so many times when I had it I probably lost several pounds. I do NOT recommend it as a way to lose weight.

Well I’m very close to my 145 goal, 145.6 yesterday and today But I’ve had gi problems so haven’t been eating. Went to doctor yesterday and he agrees I probably picked up something when being with Jerseyguy in the hospital But maybe I’ll stay there at around 145 if weight plateaus for a while. I usually plateau for about a month, frustrating

Been at 144 for three days, down from 161 about a year ago. I’ve been Sick and not eating a lot for almost a month though. Was 147 before so still down. I do feel more comfortable with my middle smaller. Hoping to get lab results today and then appropriate med for my GI gut issue. My goal was 145 but thinking of trying for 140?? Biggest change over the year was cutting down on evening ‘snacks’ that added up to more than a meal I’ve also been using Noom. Read the little prompts and encouraging messages every day for about 3 months. Then stopped, too smarmy. But keeping up the listing of food. Noom categorizes foods into green yellow or red. So now I recognize a food as calories dense (red) and try to stay with much more green and yellow. Some are surprising to me like dried cranberries are a red zone food. Noom also notes steps taken. So good to see both Think I’ll cancel after this 3 month period ($126) and use my fitness pal and iPhone tracking. My fitness when I used it seems just a calorie counter, I do like to see the green yellow red categories.

Hope you get some relief from your GI issues soon, jerseygirl!
I had some issues myself yesterday and this morning, plus feel under the weather otherwise. Only down 0.4 from last week, but at least it's still moving in the right direction. Exercise is going okay, some days much easier than others. I tried not to eat too bad for the superbowl yesterday, but my husband likes to do (not the lowest cal) snacks for dinner when we watch at home. The next couple weeks will also be a challenge for my diet- paczki this week and my oldest' birthday the following week.
Good luck everyone, and have a great week!

I missed my Monday update, but there wasn't much to report.
Not sure if I've described my penciled on the calendar weight loss goals of a pound a week. These are on Mondays. I met this week's goal on Sunday, was up a pound Monday, but back down to goal weight today. Plus, I managed to have a few paczki over the last few days, so I'm calling it a win.
Being sick last week, and with it lingering, I worked out somewhat less than normal. Still managed some running, and a couple video workouts at home. I actually ran outside a little on Monday, as it was a nicer day, and I needed a hill to run up and down for my Garmin training program. The weather is supposed to get super bad later today, so I will likely take a rest day or just do a little bit of weights. Have a great week everyone!

I am around, not much is going on pretty much just holding stable. Never lost the weight from Nov on, although I think I stopped gaining. Pants size stayed the same, they are just more fitting. Next doctor appoint is the 13th and will try to set goals after that.

I'm within a pound of where I was at before Christmas. Since I have to hang around the house the next 2-3 days due to a major snowstorm, I don't expect to make any further progress this week. I'll be lucky to maintain.

Did not do well on goals this week.
Water intake went down. Missed step goal by a little over 1000 steps. Ate after 9:00 2 days. Missed the going to bed by 10:30 one day. Oh well new week.
This week's goals:
1. Work on increasing water intake. Last week's average was 30.9. 2. No eating after 9:00 PM 3. In bed by 10:30 on work nights. 4. 50,000 steps.
Unfortunately, weight went in the wrong direction.

That's ok ners. I'm still stuck at one pound above where I was at before Christmas. Maybe down a couple of ounces, but just can't quite make it down that last pound. (My scale records weight in 2/10 of a pound.)

Hey all. Glad to see progress for some folks!
I have really been struggling to find motivation. I will not be hitting the goal I set after the new year. I seem to have a couple good days, then go back to old habits. Not sure what the deal is. For now, I'm going to stick to a couple goals, then hopefully build on those and see some real progress on the scale. I'm going to start with my water goal (80oz/day) and tracking what I eat.

I got in a drawing for some cabinets at work (they were remodeling the mail room), and I won. I kinda had an idea what I'd do with them, but be careful what you wish for. Spent a stressful last week working on getting them home. Anyway, that's why I missed my update last week. Plus, the new guy is quitting already, and I'm taking over a chunk of his work. Oh, and I'm a mom to a teenager now, which means there was cake to be eaten.
Anyway, there wasn't much to report last week. Weight stayed the same, Monday to Monday. This Monday I'm down 1.8, but still behind my projected goal by 1.2 lbs. Still trying to be consistent with exercise, but so busy that I'm not going running as much as I should. I did do 7k on Saturday, though. This week is looking awful, schedulewise, but I'll fit in something even if it isn't running. Plus, getting back on the wagon this week for my diet. Hopefully, I can catch up to my goal, as it should help with my 5k times come May.
Have a great week, everyone!
