I still haven't made it back to the Y, and I'm seriously thinking that early morning is going to be the best time for me. at least for the winter, when the pups won't turn up til they hear me mixing their breakfast bowls. 🙄 I'll re-evaluate when it warms up, I guess.
tomorrow, I'm going to stop by midday when I'm out with them, and just grab a quick tour that I didn't get on Monday when I went in to sign up. I just don't want to be walking around like an idiot the first time I'm there at 6am. 🤷♀️

Have done well so far with making sure that I drink 30 ounces before I leave home in the morning, but still averaging around 90-100 ounces a day - which is plenty for most people, but not for me.
My job will be moving to 100% desk work soon. That will help with water intake, but not movement. Need to start taking actual breaks and get outside.

I also need to get back to fasting. I decided today was the day. no calories after 7pm last night. I am determined to make it to 16 hours, though the hunger is creeping in. I know that will subside after a couple of days, and I hope to be back to my 18 hour fasts next weekend.

When I first began to walk seriously again, I noticed immediately, due to pain issues, that I needed better shoes for support. I bought a pair of Vionic, and they've served me VERY well. If your new shoes aren't working, Lizard Queen, I highly recommend Vionic. I did my normal walking schedule this week, but I've only "relost" one pound, so three to go to get to my pre-holiday weight. But, it's only been one week into January, so I'm telling myself I can do this.

I have one pair of Vionics, but I have ankle boots not walking shoes. For business casual work purposes, I have had several pairs of Danskos over the past 15 years as a supportive, stable shoe. In our nerdy family, we think Brooks are the most supportive, stable running and walking shoes.

re: shoes -I noticed I was feeling lower back pain once I started WFH at a tall kitchen counter (it's actually ergonomically perfect for my height, but the flip flops I was wearing were the problem) for a daily crash spot. I ended up shelling out $70ish for a pair of Oofos slide sandals, they have elevated arches and are a really squishy rubber overall. they are AMAZING, and since buying them I keep seeing ads about major sports league athletes using them as "recovery shoes" after games. - I've heard so much good stuff about Dansko, but their stuff is always way too wide for my feet. they have steel-toe models I could have used when I was on the floor for manufacturing review. - I got "fitted" for running shoes a few years back, when my trusted brand ASICS failed me with heel backs that were way too tall and aggravated my Achilles. Marathon Sports, FTW with the fitting. anyway, it came down to Brooks or a specific design of New Balance for me. I've tried other NB before and since, and the rest are all too wide. this one particular pair felt like I was walking on clouds. I bought them that day, looked up their specific model number and bought another pair online for when the 1st was too broken down. when the 2nd pair was kaput, I lucked out and found the current revision at a DSW and picked up 2pr. sadly, these are solid highlighter pink. I'm about to swap out the first pink pair for the 2nd that have been in my closet for 2y.

I finally had a few minutes to go back to the Y this morning for a quick walkaround. I'm glad I did, bc there were a couple places I wouldn't have found on my own. the desk guy was chuckling a little as we walked around, b/c I said that I couldn't even stay today b/c I needed to go pack up the pups and go crank out some miles on the canal on this gorgeous day. I'm planning to head over for real on Monday morning, before I log in to work. again today, I was awake around 5am while the pups were snoring in 2-part harmony. may as well make better use of that time in the morning other than reading junk headlines on my phone in trying to be quiet.

Brooks Ghost are my favorite. Stupid expensive but amazing. I got fitted at a running store and the top 3 were Brooks, Saucony Ride and something I don't remember.
Brooks are my 20,000 steps a day at Disney World and no blisters shoes.

I'm annoyed. I've been awake since 5, planning to go to the Y. but suffice to say, I should not be far from my bathroom this morning. instead, I'm going to crank out a little paperwork before the calls start for the day, and I'll hit my rower later on when my stomach calms TF down. will try again tomorrow, after toast and crackers today.

Scale at 209.5 this week, down 2.6 from last week. Not where I wanted to be, but no one to blame but myself. Not a single day did I hit all my water/exercise/diet targets. Digging in and doing better this week!

I launched mother/daughter 3-5th grade bball open gym on Sun nights. I know I exercise more frequently when it's sports related instead of just exercise. Plus this gives me time with my daughter, her friends, and some mom friends - IF, it catches on. So hard for moms to carve out time. This week it was just DD10, 10 yo neighbor friend and me - had the whole gym to ourselves.

success! I dragged myself out of bed and made it to the Y this morning. I cranked out 30min on a bike, and damn, I'm more out of shape than I thought. well, that's why I'm here, to fix that.

I really haven´t been doing as well as I would like. I am just so tired when I get home from work that working out seems overwhelming. Eating and drinking water seems to be doing okay. This past weekend I went on a hike with a guy I am seeing and that was fine. I feel like I have a good 10 hours a day to be moving and work uses that. I am still getting close to the 10K steps a day in at work so I guess that is a plus. One of the days I am going to have to suck it up and step on the scale again.

I ended up qualifying for my work's wellness credit. I got down 3 pounds by the weigh-in on Tuesday. Back up about 1.5 this weekend. I'm likely going to run in a 5k beginning of May, so started a training program through my Garmin watch for shits and giggles. Didn't like the first one I tried, so I'm on a second program that is 4 days/week. I discovered I can run a lot longer without walk breaks than I had imagined. Still need to lose weight, though, and diet seems to be the only thing that really works for me. Focusing on veggies and more water consumption.
Anyway, ran on treadmills last night and today. I used my Brooks Ghost for the first time yesterday. They might be a little too squishy for that particular use, so went back to my old ASICS on the treadmill today. Next run is scheduled for Monday, though I may do some upper body exercises tomorrow. My arms are flabby.
Hope you all have a great week, and keep on trying! Everyday is a new day, and the perfect time to try again.

Just went on a business trip Wednesday morning - Friday @midnight. I did a good job getting in 10 to 15 minute walks a few times each day. Waiting at the airport is good for that.
I only had one completely unhealthy meal, so that was good.

Had today off from work, and my kids were home from school, so we all went to the gym and ran a couple miles. I also added a little bit of upper body with some weights at home.

Hi Kids! Unfortunately, the scale has NOT been my friend recently. While I have been getting my steps in, my overall activity has been down, mostly due to having to hunker down at home due to heavy snow falling, or freezing rain. I guess I didn't realize how even something as small as going to the grocery store can help when it comes to weight. Oh well, Winter won't be here forever. For now the scale is playing "roller coaster"--up and down.

I gained a good 10 pounds since my foraminal injections in my spine...they didn't work. I haven't been able to walk like I used to due to pain. Now I'm swimming at the new sports complex a block away. There's no weight-bearing on my poor joints.

Friday night I got my weights out and tried to do my old routine. I sucked it is going to take time to build back up to it. We did have a nice hike by the bay on Saturday.
Goals- Mon, Tuesday, Thursday and maybe Friday weights/work out at home. Doing better with taking the vitamin/iron. I am not weighing myself right now, and not going to stress what I am eating. I want to get my strength back first and then will work on losing the weight I want to.

I floor exercised and did yoga 5 of 7 days last week. And I clearly underestimated how much water I am drinking. To alleviate this, I measured how many ounces my favorite at home cup is in order to officially start tracking. I also reimplemented the penny trick here at the office. (Start with a stack of pennies and move one over as a cup of water is consumed.)

I finally got on the scale at my gym over the weekend. With all my clothes and shoes on I was a few pounds lighter than anticipated. So today before my shower I hopped on the scale for what I consider a real reading. And lo and behold, I am down about 4 pounds! I’m not actively trying to lose, just hoping to maintain but I’ll consider this a win nonetheless. that makes me feel a little better about my less than stellar step count the last few months.

Had a late Christmas party with my friends on Saturday, which undid all my recent weight-loss (eating/drinking/being merry), Recovered a bit yesterday, as I ended up only 0.2 pounds today from last week.
Joined a 6 month fitness challenge today, so I will be dieting in earnest, as well as abstaining from most drinking. Did my kettlebell workout yesterday, and ran a slow 5k tonight. Planning more later this week, along with a rest day for my old and deteriorating body. I've got some plans for a few races this year, and that might be it for my running hobby. Sciatica has been bugging me more and more.
We'll see if my plans move the scale for me next week.
Hope you all have a great week!
