I am very nervous about this. Not just because Harris is a woman, or a woman of color. She is a woman of color from California, and notriously hated state! I live here, and I know how much the midwest and southern states dislike us, thinking we are a bunch of elitist liberals who love immigrants (our economy kind of depends on them). We have not had a president from California since Reagan (and he wasn't actually born here), and that was nearly 50 years ago. I will vote for her, and pray that she wins, but after what happened to Hilary I am not sure she can beat Trump. I think a lot will depend on the choice for VP. She can't go with Newsom (though I read that that would be troublesome under the 12th amendment anyway) or Butigieg (no way a female POC and an openly gay man would win). Even Gretchen Wittmer (twowomen? there are not enough pearls in the world to clutch) won't work. She needs to go with a male, preferalby causcasian, from a swing state to stand a chance All of this is true! And I can't think of anyone at the moment to be put on the ticket as VP. Even Booker would be a bad choice because hes also black (that would make heads explode). Someone in this post mentioned Romney, and that actually doesn't sound like a bad choice at the moment. We don't really have any straight white males in our party with a popular name that could support her (except Newsome, and lets NOT go there). I love that our party is so diverse, but in order to get votes, you sadly need to have at least one straight white man on the ballot. I hate that thats the way it is....but it is.

We saw him recently at the G7 in Italy and it was blatantly obvious that he was unwell. The rest of the World leaders crowded round and tried to make it look ok ...... but they knew, everybody did.
This isn't some sort of plot to rid you of a very good man. You made a difficult choice .... but it was the right one.

Just someone with more pull than Tim Kaine please. He did absolutely nothing for that ticket.

I just don't think she has what she needs to be president. Although I can't figure out why...I'd like to see another strong female (or male) candidate take the party lead. “I don’t like Kamala, but I can’t put my finger on why….” Are you sure you don’t know why? Who is this stronger female? Warren (75 years old and pretty far to the left), Klobachar (got real quiet after everyone found out she is a tough boss), Porter (couldn’t even get the nomination for CA Senate), Clinton (already lost to Trump, plus she eats babies)? We never get a perfect candidate.

In that photo Biden was talking to the paratroopers who just landed. You can see it in a larger picture. A good example of RW distortion of the facts.

I just don't think she has what she needs to be president. Although I can't figure out why...I'd like to see another strong female (or male) candidate take the party lead. “I don’t like Kamala, nor Obama - but I just can’t really say why….” Are you sure you don’t know why? Who is this stronger female? Warren (75 years old and pretty far to the left), Klobachar (got real quiet after everyone found out she is a tough boss), Porter (couldn’t even get the nomination for CA Senate), Clinton (already lost to Trump, plus she eats babies)? We never get a perfect candidate. "I really can't say way" is almost always an indication you may want to look within and check for some implicit biases. If you truly think someone is unfit for the role, you should be able to articulate it. On this short a notice, I don't think the Dems have someone with the national appeal to out perform her. She may not win, but really, who else would you run?

I like Senator Kelly for VP. I would love that - but I think they need a midwest white guy. Although - who doesn’t love an astronaut? I don’t think the flat earth/fake moon landing people are up for grabs anyway 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I like Senator Kelly for VP. As I remember, McCain didn't have to up his seat to run for higher office so that would be good with picking Kelly for a losing run. Who might replace him in the Senate if the ticket wins?

When was this? What day, what were the weather conditions? Remember the old unofficial post office motto? Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds. Yes. Thought that applied to USPS who usually do not work in several different time zones as part of their jobs. USPS is domestic mail so in theory they aren't even really dealing with foreign countries except for mail and parcel handoff. I am older, I have been clobbered this year by weather conditions. That's why I asked. It is one of the risks of being older. Unless of course you are Trump and naturally do less than everyone around you. Example - G7 leaders all walk down the hill. Not so fit Trump waits for a golf cart to take him down. He leaves a French cemetery early because its raining.

People know he packed the SCOTUS with far right judges who overturned Roe vs Wade. They know his big tax cut only helped the wealthy. They’ve seen his ludicrous handling of Covid. He can no longer run as the business genius who will fix everything. He can’t talk about draining the swamp, because he is the swamp. And his campaign is already trying to paint Harris as the lazy colored woman, which the one white male minions will love, but the younger, female, non white voters will hate. Plus he’s got cognitive issues. He rambles and fucks up more than he used to. And his wife barely seems to be able to tolerate being in the same building with him. Every thing about him screams old white man. I think Harris can do this.

Dems keep making excuses for him many on this board. Remember he fell off a bike oh happens all the time bullshit he forgot he was even on a bike. Then the terrible debate performance they can't hide it any longer. Harris is a nothing, nothing accomplished in the senate nothing done as a vp. Trump is going to destroy her.

Who might replace him in the Senate if the ticket wins? It would be temporarily filled by our Dem governor (Her term expires in like 2028, maybe?) And then the senate seat would be up for a vote in 2026. The GoP is having trouble locking down the Senate in AZ since Trump. We don’t seem to be up for MAGA candidates- fingers crossed, as Kari Lake doesn’t seem to be doing great. But Gallego is pretty bland. The last Republican Senator elected in AZ was Flake, who is a Liz Cheney Republican and left the senate when Trump took over the party.

How do you even know what he was or is thinking? Project much? One bad debate performance. One, and it was more because he shouldn't have shown up try to power through with a hoarse voice. Trump would have never powered through. He is the man of excuses. He would have called out sick claiming one of his bone spurs were acting up. But it turned out preening into the monitor to judge how his facial expressions looked on camera fascinated him. You could look up what Harris has done or not done, but I realize that can be too much effort for some folks. Its easier to do the trained FOX news assumption crap. If it wasn't reported on, it didn't happen. If the clip was played 30 million times for political points it must be baaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Assumption voting, its the big thing Trump has exploited since he wrangled the RW into his image. And about hiding bad debates performances or nonsensical talking, the GOP and Trump's spin team has been doing that since 2015. So it can be done and for far worse than Biden's slip ups.

I'll bite. I said almost exactly this 4y ago, and then a few posters tried to put words in my mouth as to their reasons why. I still don't know exactly what rubbed me the wrong way, bc I liked Klobuchar as a candidate, and I love Warren as a lefty here in MA. but you can bet your ass I'll be ticking the box for Harris over tRump in November.

Few, if any, such here.
