Holy fuck. Trump gives a speech in California talking about how there is a giant faucet that is currently dumping all the rain from north of California out into the Pacific Ocean, but if they just turn that wheel, all the water would pour down into California and everyone would get all the water they need, and all the brown forests would be green again. www.eenews.net/articles/trump-promises-california-more-water-than-you-ever-saw/When he said there is a giant faucet, I though that was a metaphor - but no, he claims it has a handle as big as the side of the building and it takes all day to turn. He literally thinks there is a giant faucet controlling all the water from Washington and Oregon. Does anyone have an idea where that idea might have come from - my guess is an opium dream? This is a good example of Trump hearing something and getting the concept, but turning to weird tactics to make sense of it. I remember when my preschool kids would do this - we are talking about water going down the drain so there must be a faucet. CA is notoriously bad at capturing runoff water. They do tend to lose a lot of water into the ocean. They have to divert water from the cities to avoid flooding. They use too many non-porous materials to divert water so none of it seeps back into the ground, and they don’t have enough reservoirs because some land is too expensive. They would need to adjust their facilities to process water tainted by urban contamination. It is a whole thing. It wouldn’t be easy - nor cheap. But the concept that CA is dumping too much water into the ocean is sound. It is every single thing he said after that statement that is utterly uninformed and ridiculous. His inability to talk about complicated issues is why he was a terrible president - I was hoping that was somewhat a show for his audience - but it was very obvious to me that his solutions to unsolvable problems were utterly uneducated. There are too many immigrants? Just kick em out. They come back? Just build a wall. They have rights? Just take the rights away? We have international agreements that dictate what we can do? Just ignore them. What do you mean that didn’t work? “You wouldn’t believe how complicated healthcare is.” Yes, sir, I can believe how complicated it is. What I can’t believe is how people think it isn’t complicated. You can’t fix government - you can only improve it.

Well the tawdry little story of Loomer and Trump gets more sordid. www.politicalflare.com/2024/09/rumors-of-affair-between-trump-and-loomer-grow-louder-with-loomer-reportedly-telling-friends-she-performed-sex-act-on-former-prez/Apparently she’s been bragging to friends, and some of the friends are talking. I don’t know (or care) if it’s true, but I would like to make a prediction - all these trashy rumors surrounding her, and all her racist, far right rants and crazy conspiracy theories, will ultimately help sink Trump’s campaign (or at least, she will be partly blamed for it sinking), and her name will get attached to a new American phrase, for when someone sticks their big feet into a situation and completely torpedos it - ‘he really loomered it.’ Of course if he fails to win there will be 100 other things that would have caused it, but this is the MAGA crowd, so they’ll blame the woman. She’ll end up being Trump’s Monica Lewinsky. Let’s meet back in a year and see what happened. Maybe she’ll be the new Mrs Trump.

He just keeps making shit up: Trump continued: “Would anybody like to be drafted, in the audience? Because that’s what they’re doing. She’s already talking about bringing back the draft. She wants to bring back the draft, and draft your child, and put them in a war that should never have happened.”
Facts First: Trump’s claim is false. Harris is not talking about bringing back the draft and has not put forward any proposals to bring back the draft. link

Is the draft something people are worried about nowadays? Like a legit issue that can sway an election?
Or is he just relying on Google to give him top 50 political talking points to use at a rally?
Boys at 18 still have to register by law so technically the draft never went away. It just hasn't been used since Vietnam.
At least his other bogus claims come from current events.

I see Trump doing this "follow the bouncing ball" (il)logic process.
Harris is an idiot, unlike me. Harris will get us into a war with Russia, unlike me. Nobody will follow Harris into war, unlike they would me. She will have to draft people to fight the war, unlike how they would volunteer to die for me. Since this is inevitable if she is elected, she might as well be talking about bringing back the draft. Therefore she is talking about bringing back the draft.

“I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Trump posted on his Truth Social platform Someone needs a hug. Trump: posts all these false AI images of Taylor Swift endorsing him. Swift: No, this is incorrect, I'm endorsing Harris and I encourage everyone to do their own research and vote for the candidate that represents them best. Trump: "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!" What a mentally unstable baby.

One reason why trump may need a hug is because the J6 gala, insupported for all those arrested and in jail, set at one of trump's New Jersey owned country clubs had to indefinitely postpone the event. No future date announced. And one of the possible reasons it might have been postposed is because in the state of New Jersey, liquor licenses cannot be issued to convicted felons. And it appears that right now no liquor is being served at trump's NJ golf courses. Although trump was allegedly issued a temporary license, no update has been issued since the scheduled hearing on July 19 in Trenton and the temporary liceense may have been revoked. J6 Awards Gala’ fundraiser scheduled for Trump New Jersey golf course postponed indefinitelyTwo of Donald Trump's golf course liquor licenses not renewed

I think with him, everything is fear based. Scare evangelicals with stories of Dems murdering full term babies Scare women with stories of migrants pouring over the border to rape them Scare minorities with stories of migrants taking their jobs. Whatever it takes to win the votes.

Doesn't Project 2025 call for increasing the Army? That kind of sounds like restarting the draft to me.

Trump supporters including this cartoonist are pushing the lie that Harris has no policies. Which I think is amazing given what polices does Trump really have? More deportations than ever and yet more tariffs. What else does he have?

Donald Trump Already Casting Doubt Over Election Results in Truth Social RantThe former president claimed in an unhinged Truth Social post that Democrats participated in “rampant cheating and skullduggery” in the 2020 election. Donald Trump on Tuesday promised “long prison sentences” for his political foes should he retake the White House with an election win. Posting to Truth Social in his signature, rambling style, Trump wrote that he’d prosecute Democrats who participated in “rampant cheating and skullduggery” in the 2020 election. “WHEN I WIN, those people that CHEATED will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, which will include long-term prison sentences so that this Depravity of Justice does not happen again,” he wrote. Trump’s claim that there was mass voter fraud last election has long been disproven, and even Trump himself has recently admitted he was defeated. Yet the former president has already begun sowing doubt on the legitimacy of this year’s election—seemingly setting up a potential second round of voter-fraud claims should Kamala Harris win the Electoral College on Nov. 5. Trump needs to be prosecuted along with Vance. www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/you-started-this-jd-vance-s-apology-demand-gets-instant-backlash/ar-AA1qIU82?ocid=msedgntp&pc=DCTS&cvid=fb7abe36e61644fc8af444f2b4a40506&ei=9Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) is under attack after downplaying bomb threats across Springfield, Ohio on the grounds that no bombs have actually been found in the targeted schools.
The threats on the community and schools have been going on for the past several days and they have forced multiple evacuations, although no one has yet planted an actual explosive device at any of the buildings.
Taking to Twitter on Tuesday, Vance demanded an apology from the media and Democrats who pointed the finger at him and Trump for the threats.
HillReporter writer Tara Dublin replied to Vance saying, "I’m still waiting on a correction and apology from you to Haitian immigrants legally living in Springfield for threatening their lives. You told Dana Bash that you make up stories just like this one, Vladimir Futon You’re a LIAR."

Well if it is no big deal since no bombs were found, then the assasination attempt is NBD since no shots were fired

ok. my first prediction of the campaign season.... after saying that this race was too close to call, i am now giving Harris 3:2 odds to win. anyone who wants to place a bet for or against Harris, i will pay $1.50 for every dollar you put up. there is just a lot of stuff falling in Harris' favor right now. the first thing is that i am not convinced that Trump can win over 48% of the vote. second, her favorability just went positive. this is an IMMENSE hill she has climbed, from being one of the least popular politicians in the US 2 months ago (-20%) to even. meanwhile, during the same 2 months, Trump has fallen 1% from -9% to -10%. as voters start to consider candidates, this matters. all six of the swing states AND NC are now slightly in Harris' column. i would not really even call Wisconsin a swing state at this point. she is polling 3% ahead there, way ahead of Biden and Clinton. mind you, she still has her work cut out for her. she is under-performing Biden in MANY places. and a slight mis-step will put her in grave danger of losing. but at this point in the 2016 campaign, i was giving Clinton lower odds. in fact, this is the lowest odds i will ever give without calling it a tossup. but i just don't feel that it is a tossup, right now. it is trending well for Harris, and if the election was held today, she would win, imo.

i should also add that the fact that Trump has not presented any substantive proposals and keeps talking about eating dogs, cats, ducks and geese adds another degree of certainty to the analysis. if he were attacking Harris in a substantive way, and not consistently shooting himself in the foot, i would probably not have made the previous post.

I read some pundit today who said he thinks Trump has decided he can win with just his MAGA faithful, he doesn’t need to try to soften his stance to be more moderate in order to win this election. He could be full on, obnoxious, anti immigrant MAGA. The pundit thought he was wrong - and I do too. With his flip flops on abortion, I think he’s lost some Evangelicals and also some women. His obvious cognitive issues have lost more voters who may not vote for Harris, but who won’t vote at all. I don’t think he has enough base voters to win. At least I hope this is correct. And I hope he remains full on MAGA until voting day, that only helps Harris.

Yesterday in Michigan Trump repeatedly talked about Bagram in Alaska. Bagram is in Afghanistan. He also declared himself a genius because he can ‘connect the dots’ in his ramblings, which makes them not ramblings. ??
He also said the biggest threat to the car industry is nuclear weapons.
Attendees were flooding out, while Trump insisted that didn’t happen.
