During a Donald Trump town hall event in Flint, Michigan, Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders told a crowd of voters that Vice President Kamala Harris “doesn’t have anything keeping her humble.” link And then you have: Trump took three questions from the audience in addition to providing lengthy monologues about relationships with foreign leaders, his rally crowd attendance and how his comments aren’t rambling but rather “genius” statements. link It would be hilarious if it weren't so sad.

I don't see Sarah as humble. Maybe briefly at home, but so what?

Yesterday in Michigan Trump repeatedly talked about Bagram in Alaska. Bagram is in Afghanistan. He also declared himself a genius because he can ‘connect the dots’ in his ramblings, which makes them not ramblings. ?? He also said the biggest threat to the car industry is nuclear weapons. Attendees were flooding out, while Trump insisted that didn’t happen. Remember the TV show Herman's Head? I wonder what the characters in Trump's head are saying/doing? I loved that show. I thought I was the only one that remembered it. It would be hilarious if they made a sequel that was just a slasher/horror film using a Trump like character as Herman. 🤣

Well, I still have hope here. The last election I rarely if ever saw anyone put a Biden sign in their yard. Now I'm beginning to see Kamala signs here & there (besides the usual Trump signs). My favorite sign I've seen so far is "Harris/Walz We're not going back!"

That is how word salad comes into being.

i should also add that the fact that Trump has not presented any substantive proposals and keeps talking about eating dogs, cats, ducks and geese adds another degree of certainty to the analysis. if he were attacking Harris in a substantive way, and not consistently shooting himself in the foot, i would probably not have made the previous post. I read some pundit today who said he thinks Trump has decided he can win with just his MAGA faithful, he doesn’t need to try to soften his stance to be more moderate in order to win this election. He could be full on, obnoxious, anti immigrant MAGA. The pundit thought he was wrong - and I do too. With his flip flops on abortion, I think he’s lost some Evangelicals and also some women. His obvious cognitive issues have lost more voters who may not vote for Harris, but who won’t vote at all. I don’t think he has enough base voters to win. At least I hope this is correct. And I hope he remains full on MAGA until voting day, that only helps Harris. if he doubles down on MAGA, it will be the clearest evidence that he actually believes all the BS he says about the 2020 election. he has been steadily losing votes since 2016 (on a percentage basis). i am not sure that will happen this time. he might gain votes this time, because there will be less undecided and 3rd party vote than usual. at least that is what i think. if he LOSES votes on a percentage basis, that would be glorious, because that means that Harris would win by at least 5%, and that would mean she gets about the same number of EV as Obama, which would pretty much crush MAGA and put the GOP in full retrenchment mode. it would also make the election fraud BS almost impossible to prosecute.

I suppose trump and vance will now claim President and Vice President Biden and Harris are Iranian assets and traitors to the U.S. Iran attempted to pass hacked Trump campaign info to Biden campaignThe FBI and other intelligence agencies revealed Wednesday that Iran sent information stolen during its hack on the Trump campaign to the Biden campaign and continues to send material to various media outlets. “Iranian malicious cyber actors in late June and early July sent unsolicited emails to individuals then associated with President Biden’s campaign that contained an excerpt taken from stolen, non-public material from former President Trump’s campaign as text in the emails,” the agency wrote in a joint statement alongside the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Now as you all know English is not my first language. Nor is it my second for that matter, but in general I consider my language ability in English to be pretty adequate. However, Huckabee's comment has me baffled. I don't necessarily consider world leaders to be all that humble (apologies to president Carter) nor do I expect them to be. I DO expect them to have at !east better than basic manners. IOW, no elbowing someone aside so you can have a center spot on a photograph. But "being overtly humble", not so much. Now taking this all into account I have only one explanation for this comment and that is that Harris, as a woman and a woman of color no less, is forgetting her place. She is " drinking from the white only fountain and using the wrong toilet without paying attention to the signs". Maybe this is just the results of my language skills or lack thereof so someone please proof me wrong because the way I read it is rather sickening

I agree with you too, NastyWoman. They cannot find any serious flaws with Harris (really, the laugh?), so they're just making stuff up as they go. I mean, how dare anyone challenge the all-powerful Trump. I also agree that the Republican Party is totally living in the past, when women & people of color "knew their place". Or at least society enforced it. They don't recognize people like my Dad (now deceased) who would've been considered a feminist today (surprise!) because he always taught me that I could do anything I strived for, and he openly told me he wanted me to have a good education so that if my husband ever walked out on me, that I wouldn't have to survive on crumbs. He was also pro-choice, especially in cases of rape. But today's GOP wants everyone to humble themselves to the rich white male. That's not happening.

One of my thoughts is why on earth is a woman's lack of biological children any part of a national conversation? Why is personal choice or medical reason so important? It is nobody's business. How is this important in the ability to govern?

Trump always wants to shut down the government when he's not in power. The reason changes but he loves the drama IMO. I wish they would ignore him, but we know they won't.

As a selling point, having kids to make you humble seems like a loser idea to me. Trump and Vance seem to be doing well in figuring out how to alienate parts of the voting public.

Wonder if Mike Johnson is going to be outed next. God forbid he may find himself actually having to make a decision! And he knows that the MAGA hats hold all the keys to the kingdom. I know it is incredibly dysfunctional and bad for the country but I have been laughing my ass off as their desperate claw for power comes back to haunt them.

The funny thing is they have no end game other than caving. If they listen to Trump, they shut the government down. If they leave Washington to campaign, people are going to ask about it especially if it lasts more than a few days. If they shut it down and then pass a clean bill, Trump and his minions are going to criticize them again. Lose-lose proposition for Johnson and the Republicans. But no one accused them of having the ability of critical thinking
