Maybe Lara Trump thinks she can save Trump from misusing other artist's songs? No one wants to tell her to stop singing and just pay royalties to artists that are willing to have their songs used at Trump rallies? I find it hard to listen for more than a minute. I wonder how much money is spent on doing that.

I saw him crowing the other day because he was able to insist that no one could stand on boxes for the debate. Meaning he’ll be taller than Harris. Like that will matter much. Men usually are taller than women. He’s losing his mind over this debate. I would not be surprised if he bails at the very last minute. Is it trump or DeSantis who it is said they wear lifts in their shoes to appear taller? DeSantis supposedly wears lifts in cowboy boots. Trump has a distinct forward lean that has generated a lot of internet speculation. Lifts in his shoes or cognitive issues seem to be the top two potential causes, based on totally amateur speculation. If you see a side shot of him at a podium he does always seem to be leaning heavily forward on the podium

wait, i just realized something about what he said. he is talking about punishing someone for cheating if he wins. but if he wins, isn't it far more likely that he would be the one that cheated? he said the same thing in 2016. who was punished?

Shouldn’t she be busy somewhere making sure every penny sent to the RNC gets diverted into paying Daddy Trump’s legal expenses? Maybe she’s guarding against an election loss and subsequent unemployment by trying to gin up a singing career she can fall back on in case Daddy Trump loses, has to go to jail and spends the family fortune on legal expenses and judgements. Morning national news today stated trump said he probably would not do well at the upcoming debate with Harris because the debate guidelines and format are unfair to him. Fucking loser. It is pretty frightening that the potential US president - arguably the most powerful person in the world - can’t overcome a few simple inequities during a debate. Wouldn’t that put him at a disadvantage in every single foreign policy negotiation? Every country could just demand a higher chair and a few other things and *bam* the USA loses.

Today's editorial cartoon bundle seems mostly slanted to hammer Harris on the economy. It's as if certain people have totally forgotten the price changes were because of the Pandemic not because of who was President at the time. Bacon prices may have been the highest when Trump was President, however something I saw when searching suggested Trump froze gathering of certain price stats as of March 2020. Trump can't save anyone from gas or food prices because he did nothing to influence them then except force workers to return to processing plants. We still had wicked high prices for chicken, eggs, and bacon. There was also the Avian flu outbreak of 2022 which I do not think Trump started. This caused a major increase in the price of eggs and chicken because so much poultry was killed to stop the spread of the disease. Trump can't cure that if it happens again. As usual he's taking credit for being lucky. The avian bird flu outbreak in 2022 was particularly severe, primarily due to the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 strain. This strain was first identified in domestic chickens in Newfoundland, Canada, in December 2021, and it quickly spread to wild birds and poultry across North America1.
By mid-2022, the outbreak had affected over 40 million domestic poultry in the U.S. alone, leading to significant economic losses and concerns about poultry shortage ETA - Removed the link to BLS CPI 2020, because I think I am not looking at it correctly. 2020 should have been low gas prices at the start of the pandemic.

He's seen height as a plus for many years. It's obvious in a clip I watched earlier this year when he whined at David Letterman in 1987. Trump still had his marbles then, so this obsession with height isn't new. And I wouldn't be surprised if he uses lifts to counteract the height loss many of us experience because arches lower and sometimes spines compress. I had high arches, and if I am hydrated, they are normal now. Which means I am shorter, and my foot is a bit longer. For one of Trump's court cases, they measured Trump at 6'2" and 240 lbs. The other one seemed to have taken his word that he is 6'3" and 215 lbs. He probably lost an inch in height and feels he's allowed to compensate but as usual no one else is.

The pandemic was a little over three years long depending on who is counting. Trump had 2020, most of January 2021 and the part of 2019 where it was in WA state. Biden had most of 2021, 2022, and whatever part of 2023 one wants to count. I feel like it wasn't normalish until late summer 2023. In any event supply chain issues started in 2020 but didn't reach a peak until Biden was in office. That's just reality. Trump did not try stop those supply chain issues to my knowledge while he was in office, as he was more worried about keeping the Presidency than helping America's citizens. MO. Because lots of people started ordering things online, especially from Amazon, demand blew up and the resources could not scale that fast to satisfy demand. Things are normalizing now but it takes some time. Car prices are still crazy if less so. But all the stuff is the cartoon was not caused by a President and fixing it won't be generally because of Presidential action. Things are normalizing and when rate cuts come will drop even more. Trump isn't good for the economy; he just is advertising his luck as always. ETA - It is grocery stores working the price problem because producers are generally not lowering their prices. A grocery chain in my area, ShopRite has doubled the amount of store brands at least and I am noticing more and more of them when I shop.

Trump called for oil production cutbacks and achieved 13% domestically. He then requested the Saudis and Russians do the same, so they did. COVID lockdowns ended and demand went right back up. It took until August 2023 for oil production to return to normal. This was the fuel for the inflation coupled with supply chain problems. Harris should mention this and give Trump blame for the high gas prices. Instead of America First it was Big Oil first. They recorded record profits.

But is he bad at it or is this reverse psychology? He is luring everyone into a false sense of security and then will blow them away with how awesome he is at real negotiations? He doesn't waste his time on stupid debates, not being good at them is a sign he is actually a competent president who spends his energy where it is important! It used to be that the length and duration of your speech was a sign of your competency to be president. Teddy Roosevelt lived after being shot because he had his huge ass speech folded up in his pocket and it slowed the bullet down. And he proceeded to still read the entire thing after being shot! Now it is apparently a point of pride to suck at debate. Debating skills are not a virtue or sign of intelligence, they are for the weak sheeple who don't know the truth.

How about FL doing a work-around to prevent felons from voting after voters overwhelmingly approved allowing felons having voting rights restored after they served time.

Curious if he was trying to match his pajamas to the curtains (he succeeded) and if that’s his matching purse - if it is, special style points for matchy match.

So Trump just flat out said he would arrest his opponents if he gets elected. From both the 2020 and the 2024 elections. Not just the opponents, their lawyers, their donors, their supporters - everyone goes for long jail sentences for not supporting Trump!! www.axios.com/2024/09/08/trump-2024-election-prisonI donated to Biden’s campaign, so I guess I’m fucked. I also donated to one of my senators (Ossoff) - a Democrat, I wonder if I get extra jail time for that? And also - he’s going to get all the illegals in a ‘bloody’ round up. Country is going to seem pretty empty, with so many of us in jail or booted out. I guess that’s the point.

DH got an e-mail from Trump tonight urging all his supporters to vote absentee. Absentee Votes in WI can not be counted till election day. Is this just a way for them to overwhelm the system & then try to throw out the votes. They asked the legislature to allow them to start counting before election day, but the Republican legislature never took the bill up.

In our all by mail state of Washington, votes can't be counted until the polls close. However, they can be processed upon arrival. Signatures checked, envelopes opened, ballots checked for any issue that would interfere with smooth scanning (and fixed if necessary), and then ballots "staged" to be run quickly through the scanners. Processing ahead is what matters.

I don't know about your area but I'm not seeing any Trump or Harris ads on TV. I haven't seen any on my local TV channels ABC CBS NBC or cable channels. Is this by design? Where are the ads being run. Just social networks?
