To be fair, the Trump campaign knows a lot about completely fabricated claims.

It was announced today that Megan Thee Stallion will be performing at VP Harris' rally in Atlanta on Tuesday, July 30. Megan Thee Stallion may not be my cup of tea, but she will definitely attract younger voters. By the way, Megan Thee Stallion is 29 years old. Compare that to Kid Rock at age 53 and Ted Nugent at age 75. Megan Thee Stallion is the kind of black woman that black women admire- she is completely confident, open about her sexuality, and un-self-conscious about any of it. in other words, she is EXACTLY the kind of black woman that Harris needs to attract black woman voters- particularly young ones.

In CNN's time-line of the upcoming events for the presidential election, they include the season premiere of Saturday Night Live. I’m hoping to see Maya Rudolph come out of retirement

Easier to believe that they will walk all over Trump because his fat old a** can't get out of the way.

Jesse Watters is a nutter with issues. In January 2024, he presented to his viewers a thought, without evidence, that Taylor Swift and Kansas City chiefs player Travis Kelce's relationship was part of a "psyop" directed by the U.S. Department of Defense.[25][26]en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesse_Watters

Sure he is not a racist. He just can’t help himself. He has no respect for s as none, and just keeps insulting people. The MAGidiots love it. God forbid he gets insulted. They then get the nose out of joint. But someone else gets offended and they are “snowflakes”.

Easier to believe that they will walk all over Trump because his fat old a** can't get out of the way. Either that or they know all they have to do is flatter him and he’ll bend over backwards for them. Throw out the idea that at some point, they’ll let Trump Inc build a hotel in their capital city and he’ll write them love letters. Throw a little grift and you’ve got him in your pocket.

ABC Evenings News had a segment of trump speaking to the moderator at the black reporters meeting. trump came off as a racist, ignorant 'human'. No surprise there. None.

The Borowitz Report
Trump Brings JD Vance's Streak of Saying Most Idiotic Things to an EndCHICAGO (The Borowitz Report)—Boasting that he has “still got it,” on Wednesday Donald J. Trump brought Sen. JD Vance’s streak of saying the day’s most idiotic things to an abrupt end. Trump said that his running mate’s formidable streak of ignorant remarks was “very much on my mind” when he sat down for his interview at the convention of the National Association of Black Journalists. “JD is very talented when it comes to offending millions of people, but I needed to show that I was still the undisputed champion,” Trump said. “When he said that thing about childless cat ladies, I said to myself, ‘Hold my beer.’” For his part, Vance praised Trump for his racist comments at the NABJ gathering, asserting, “I have so much to learn from him.” Trump Brings JD Vance's Streak of Saying Most Idiotic Things to an End

Holy cow! I watched the whole interview. Rachel Scott jumped right in with hard hitting questions, and he called her rude and nasty! Blamed her for equipment delays, complained about the mics, snubbed her and swapped to the Fox News reporter, who kissed up to him half the time. He went off on tangents playing his invisible accordion, got in all his favorite lies (killing babies after they are born, etc), even mashing a few up (all those illegals are coming for your Black jobs).

key point: he FULLY answered almost no questions.
what would you do about inflation, Donald? "lower energy prices".
energy is about 7.3% of CPI. if you cut energy prices 100% for a YEAR, it would drop the CURRENT CPI 0.2%
someone should point that out to Trump when he says that.
it is a really stupid response that sounds sensible to people who are economically illiterate, however.
edit: he loves harping on and on about inflation. but someone should ASK him what HE THINKS the historical rate of inflation has been the last 110 years. the answer is 3.3%. which means that the current CPI is BELOW the 110 year average.

I have not watched the interview, but I am sure it is a trip. On one of these political threads, I posted two YouTube videos of Trump on David Letterman's show. I felt it was important because it shows how he acts when he does not want to answer a question, and that his pro Russia comments have been around for a long time, at least since 1987. On Letterman's show he started complaining about the height of his chair, the height of the host (per Google they are the same height) and I forget what else. He uses the rude and nasty bit constantly now. He uses it more against people he feels are his social inferiors, but he does use it with pretty much anyone. No dispensations for race or gender. And the Qs he does get close to answering he is so vague as to be useless unless you can guess what he might mean via translating Donald speak.

Jon Stewart to Republicans: ‘You can replace your old guy, too’
I lost the video when it auto played into another one. But there is a two-minute clip of the Jon Stewart show that is worth watching. www.yahoo.com/entertainment/jon-stewart-republicans-replace-old-143521517.html“It’s been a week, or a decade, or … what the fuck? Oh my God, so much has happened in that week,” Stewart said on Monday evening. “The pundits all said it couldn’t happen, but it did happen, and the Republicans are not very happy about it.”
Specifically, conservative talking heads are trying to argue that Democrats are “trying to hijack democracy” with Biden stepping aside. Or, as the Fox News host Sean Hannity called it, “a coup within the Democratic party”.
“I get it!” Stewart joked. “If I thought I had this thing in the bag, and you thought you were going to be up against old Joe Biden and then they pulled this, I’d be like, ‘Ref! Ref! Open your eyes!’”
“I do understand that they’re upset,” he added. “It makes sense. So how about we do this – out of fairness, I’m a fair person, you can replace your old guy, too. That’s fine!”
Stewart also noted sexist claims that Harris “slept her way to the top” by having sex with other politicians. “Could you try to be more subtle?” he quipped. “Joe Biden and Donald Trump literally slept their way to the top and we never heard a fucking peep about it!”

Last night Trumps team cut that horrible interview short.
This morning the campaign claims they had to do it because they had problems with equipment which caused the event to start late, but the only broken thing I saw was his fucking diarrhea mouth.

When he brought up Black jobs, the interviewers were all over him "What are *Black* jobs?!?" But he just kept talking over them (he's like those old dolls - you pull the string, and it says a recorded phrase, the same every time). When all three of the interviewers broke thru his attention bubble, he finally waved his hands at the audience and said something to the effect of "your jobs - you're all Black - whatever your jobs are...the illegals are coming for Black jobs, and Hispanic jobs, and ..."

Talking heads on the news this AM said that Trump was trying to go back to the abrasive guy who first came down the elevator in 2016, because that’s what worked for him before.
I don’t think that’s the case. I think his age/ cognitive function problems have made it so what he thinks is what comes out of his mouth. He can’t control it anymore. This thin skinned, pissy, abusive toddler is the real Trump.
The core MAGA happens to live it, but let’s hope enough of the rest of us don’t.

Trump gave another reason why he’s too old to run for presidentAnd Democrats should not shy away from saying it. In a Washington Post/ABC News poll taken after the presidential debate in June, 86% of Americans said President Joe Biden was too old to serve a second term. This survey and similar findings played an essential role in Biden’s decision to depart the presidential race, directly rebutting the president’s contention that only donors and media elites wanted him not to run. Vice President Kamala Harris’ momentum since entering the race, while running on a platform almost identical to Biden’s, has only confirmed the depth of voters’ concerns about the president’s age. And yet since Biden dropped out, it has been largely forgotten that many voters are also rightly concerned about Donald Trump’s age. In the same Post/ABC poll, 60% of Americans, including 65% of independents, said Trump is too old for another term. But apart from a few initial articles and some jabs on social media, the question of Trump’s age has largely been forgotten. Should the 78-year-old Trump win in November, he would be older upon taking office than Biden was when he took office in 2021. Complete article here: Trump gave another reason why he’s too old to run for president

I think something like a Cheney/Kinzinger ticket would energize the Republicans in the same way that Kamala energized the Democrats.

I think something like a Cheney/Kinzinger ticket would energize the Republicans in the same way that Kamala energized the Democrats. I am not a fan of Liz Cheney at all. Part of that is her ideology but part is certainly a reflection of my opinion of her father. I do give her credit for both staying true to her beliefs and being willing to stand up against the crimes and corruption of Donald Trump, but that is exactly why she would never be nominated by the GOP. I am a big fan of Adam Kinzinger. It is a huge loss for Republicans and what the Republican Party should be for him to not have a large role in the party. If they have any hope of NOT remaining the disaster that they have turned into, he is exactly the type of person they need many more of.
