This whole tactic is backfiring. It isn’t getting a lot of oxygen from credible news sources, and just about every county - including Maricopa - has Republicans running the elections. Those Republicans are NOT playing along. They have the choice of declaring their grave incompetence, or going against a loud minority of the party. They have chosen their tactic and continue saying the elections were fair and valid. Fighting Dems is one thing, but when you have weirdo pillow guy leading a band of losers against the established party - it just doesn’t seem to be working.

there are a couple of counties that are refusing to close their ballots in Arizona. www.azmirror.com/2022/11/23/arizona-counties-will-be-forced-to-certify-election-despite-political-theater/i heard somewhere that they might refuse to certify, leaving their voters out of the election. although i like that idea, because it would deprive them of one more congressional seat, i do NOT like that idea because it sets a precedent that could be used to mess with future elections. i hope that it goes just as they are saying in the article- that the election WILL be certified, with or without the counties. I heard on the news this am there are actually two gop candidates who will loose if this county fails to certify their votes. Not sure how this grandstanding benefits the gop.

Officials in rural Cochise County, Arizona, on Thursday certified the results of the county’s midterm elections – ending a high-stakes confrontation with state officials over the county’s failure to sign off on election results by the legal deadline.
The 2-0 vote came shortly after a judge ordered the county’s three-member board of supervisors to certify the results by 5 p.m. local time.
Cochise was the last of Arizona’s 15 counties to certify the election.

Kari Lake Lawsuit Could Help Trump Get Reinstated as President, Lawyer Says
A lawyer for Donald Trump has said that Republican candidate for Arizona governor Kari Lake's election midterm lawsuit might somehow help the former president return to the White House. Attorney Christina Bobb made the remarks during an appearance on Real America on the One America News Network (OANN) while discussing Lake's legal attempts to have the Arizona gubernatorial election, which she lost to Democratic Katie Hobbs, thrown out. Lake, a Trump loyalist who backs the false claim that the 2020 election was rigged due to widespread voter fraud, filed a suit on December 9 alleging that "hundreds of thousands" of ballots were "infected" in Maricopa County. Lake is also challenging the certification of the midterm electoral results and is seeking a judge to declare her the winner of the race. While discussing the lawsuit, OANN host Dan Ball asked Bobb that if Lake wins and proves that Arizona's elections are "screwed," whether Trump could also prove he was "screwed" out of the election he lost more than two years ago. "Well, it'll be interesting," Bobb, herself a former OANN host, replied. "You know, I don't know. I mean one state as we know. We would need three states, so I wouldn't necessarily say right away, certainly maybe down the road. "But I would expect the governor Lake to clean up the process," Bobb added. Today is the day Lake’s team get to inspect 150 ballots. Does anyone know what an inspection consists of? I would assume they verify the voter and signature, and look for anything that would indicate it was a fake ballot or a vote was changed. Do they call the voter and verify that was actually who they voted for or anything like that?

Don't think there is a "standard" procedure. Thinking it will be what a judge allows.

The deep state strikes again: An Arizona judge on Saturday rejected Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake’s lawsuit attempting to overturn her defeat, concluding that there wasn’t clear or convincing evidence of misconduct, and affirming the victory of Democratic Gov.-elect Katie Hobbs. link Of course she plans to appeal.

The judge said that if the county attorneys wanted to file sanctions against Lake’s lawyers, they had to by 8 am Monday. They found this out Saturday, December 24th.
My husband says being a big time lawyer sucks, but they probably had it 90% done already and just had to add in some language from the ruling. Granted - I don’t think he knows diddly about this kind of law, so he is guessing. Sometimes the good guys have to work on Christmas, I guess. 🫤

Satire from The Borowitz Report Kari Lake Flips Out at 7-Eleven After Buying Losing Lottery TicketBy Andy Borowitz December 26, 2022 PHOENIX (The Borowitz Report)—Kari Lake reportedly “flipped out” at a suburban 7-Eleven after buying a losing lottery ticket there on Christmas morning, multiple witnesses report. According to those witnesses, Lake’s failure to produce a winning result in a lottery scratcher game called Cash Craze led her to accuse the ticket machine of being rigged against her and “riddled with fraud.” While other customers averted their eyes, the former anchorwoman launched into a tirade on a wide range of targets, including the “pathetic” quality of Christmas presents she had just received. A member of Lake’s extended family who spoke on condition of anonymity called her Christmas visit to the 7-Eleven “unfortunate” but said that “at least it got her out of the house for a few minutes.” Kari Lake Flips Out at 7-Eleven After Buying Losing Lottery Ticket

Things are not looking good for Mark Brnovich. He hid a bunch of evidence that debunked all the election deniers “proof”. He didn’t win his primary, and Republicans from both the MAGA side and the non-MAGA side are distancing themselves from him. He has been submitted to the bar for an ethics review. When you try to sit on an electric fence, your butthole is going to get burned.

We also found out that Finchem refused to stand behind any of his (extremely loud) complaints when he was under oath.
Yet - so many people are still convinced there was widespread fraud, perpetrated by a bunch of Republicans to elect Democrats in a purple state, which was then investigated by Republicans and sent to courts where the judges were appointed by Republicans and they still can’t prove more than a few bum ballots - which were favorable to Republicans!!!!!!!!

There was a minute when I thought the power of the “normal” conservatives would dampen the claims of election fraud - but it looks like the ones that are determined to break democracy won’t be shamed out of it.

I think when Fox loses its defamation case, there will be a change. yeah. you know, it is funny to think about. never in the history of the US has there been anything approaching this case. it really is a monster case. and because of that, the implications are far reaching. it might only produce a policy tweak at FOX. for example, if they had all of the crazy as guests, and spent time contesting the claims, they would skate. there is no case there. if they had had the crazies as guests and they had NOT contested them, but had others on that did, that would also have worked. but having them on uncontested, and appearing to support their positions is possibly a 9 figure mistake.

It will change Fox - but Kevin McCarthy has given ridiculous power to the nuttiest - I am afraid if Fox changes one of the other super conservative “news” channels will fill the void. Fox may have to sell assets or something to pay Dominion. Is it enough to sink the whole channel?
