Sitting on a beach in Phuket, semi shade and there is a breeze blowing. I’ve gone into the sea, it’s wonderful. Now TD is out diving (after my wallet got raided for $$$, we have no bahts yet). I could stay here all day but we’ve only got until 2. All aboard time is 5, so am hoping maybe to hit up a local pharmacy. We have a couple hours once we get back.
Guys, I’m not sure where we are going next. Our next stop is supposed to be Columbo, Sri Lanka but apparently it’s a mess and the whole damn country appears they will be on strike. We are supposed to be there 3 days. I’m not sure if that stop is going to happen, as the dock is on strike too. They can hang in Thailand for 3 extra days then set sail for Cochin, India or find someplace else. Myannmar isn’t happening (which was supposed to be a stop when we booked in 2020). The Maldives are an option, and if this happens we are jumping ship and going to our happy place in Meeru for a few days. Whatever happens, we will figure it out. I don’t object to more beach time in the least!

Not sure what the whole story is, but my barn reeks of skunk. I suspect the cat was either sprayed directly or just went after it and it sprayed in the barn somewhere. Either way, it's bad. You can actually taste it it's so strong. I feel bad for the animals because it's going to be awhile before that is better. I was just in there for a few minutes this morning and could smell it on my clothes all day at work. Gus has been stall bound for 2 weeks due to the farrier effing up his feet and even he wanted to go outside this afternoon.
Poor Gus. When will he be able to go out again?

Good morning, you beautiful invisible people of Y Ma'am. Welcome to Tuesday, and to Spring. I hope your day provides answers to vexing questions and smooths your way forward. And, that you have an excellent dessert. I've got to rake up the oak leaves that have blown up on my front porch and clean out the garden beds. I'll do that today before the rain begins tomorrow. Also today, reserve the cruise shore excursions. Thanks for the advice, The Walk of the Penguin Mich. I'll do that while munching on Jordan Marsh blueberry muffins. I also need to write 4 condolence letters to my nieces and to BFF's son and DIL, who suffered a miscarriage that was really devestating. Trisomy 18.

Back on the ship and showered and in dry clothes. I did make a stop at the local pharmacy and stocked up on some things to try to keep us out of the medical center on this ship. We got turned around, and wound up walking halfway through the town until we realized we were walking in the wrong direction to the pier.

Still no idea as to what’s going to happen about Sri Lanka. I did go online and saw I can get a room in Meeru when we’d be there.

Our room is starting to look like a liquor store. In New Zealand, we bought bottles of wine at a vineyard with our leftover NZD. TD bought 4 bottles of single malt scotch with the rest of our Malaysian money. Since we are going overland in India, I’m thinking we will be pulling out more rupees than usual since we won’t be sleeping o4 eating the ship.

my ears are ringing. there's a huge flatbed truck behind the house across from mine, and it's been idling for the past 20min. that fucker is LOUD. I can't wait for the construction 2mi in back there, to ramp up as it warms up. ugh. in a funny twist, though - once that does ramp up, I'll get to catch up in person with my "big brother" from my first job. he's now working for the company doing this particular project on the overall development expansion - something to do with wastewater treatment.

Now I know how to get Gwen up in the morning. Send Wilbur in to eat her toes. Yes I am becoming one of thos obnoxious pet parents who only talks about her puppy. And I am loving every minute of it.

Poor Gus. When will he be able to go out again? I let him out this morning because it's supposed to be sunny and almost 50. Half of his paddock will be mud so standing in that should feel good. Unfortunately it was all frozen this morning before work, so hopefully he doesn't slip or hurt his feet more before it warms up. He has orthopedic boots coming, but they've been held up in shipping for 10 days now. He's had a rough year.

If you name them then they count as pets and you cannot in good faith throw out your pets can you?

I'm ready to leave my laptop on my desk and leave. Heaven forbid anyone working in the support component have to actually do just that. The entire purpose of that group is to support those of us doing audits and investigations. If I'm expected to do it myself then a whole lot of FTEs need cut.

I finally got up and have had breakfast. It was a very late night after such an exciting hoops game. They fly to Boulder today and then to Seattle tomorrow. If it wasn't for the blood clot, I would be flying there, too. The good news on that is the leg is looking better every day now and I am much stronger.
So it's nap time. Maybe I will feel human when I wake up.
This was a 2 chai tea day.

Raining again on my hiking day with my friend. So we'll make it another mall walk instead. After that we'll come to my place for lunch. After I saw the forecast yesterday I texted her and told her I would make a pot of chicken tortilla soup - well kind of as I have messed with the original recipe enough that it may no longer qualify for the name, but it is good.
This morning I also set out containers for her to take half of the leftovers. No way am I going to eat the same thing for the rest of the week and my freezer is full.

Penny and I are freezing! It is in the 40s, but I had to shut the hvac system off so they could cover it. Last time I had the decks stained, they got stain on the system in several places. The hvac guy said it was ok, but not to let someone do that again. I guess it could be worse. We have an electric heater that I am turning on at times; we couldn't do that if we had no a/c. This is apparently a two-day ordeal. They are putting two coats of stain on today. Tomorrow they will seal it. There is a third day whether they realize it or not. I can't put the furniture back myself. That's ok. Like I said before, the guy has done lots of projects for me. I hate home improvement projects. I generally like the result but not the process.

I went to my orthopaedic surgeon today. She said she can't help me anymore, since nothing she has tried has worked.....not the steroid shots, not the foraminal injections, not the steroid pills, not the epilepsy drugs. Nothing has worked.
Now I'm waiting to see what the neurologist has to say. It's a long wait.

He's a beautiful horse. I'm sorry he's been having such a hard time, for so long. I hope things improve him now. That must be hard taking care of an ailing animal. Especially one so big. Did the dog you were going to care for, ever show up? )(Ed?)

I'm going to post notices today, giving away my couch. I gave away my printer/copier/scanner on Friday, so these are hand written and don't have any pictures on them. They may not be effective, which will be unfortunate, because it's a nice couch, in good condition. No rips, stains, or tears.
I would take it to a donation place, but don't know of one that takes furniture. Maybe I'll Google it and see if I find anyplace, close.
Today is going to be busy. I just want to go back to sleep and ignore the world.

today's been expensive, woof. but, I have an answer as to what's going on with Punk. blood work showed a mild case of pancreatitis. so we got an anti-nausea injectable med at the vet office just now, and came home with a few doses to last the week. she'll be on basic chicken and rice at least through the end of the prescription. here's hoping she's feeling better soon.

As my mother always said 'Cheap fish makes a terrible fish soup', but in Russian.

I'm miserable. Day 2/10 of augmentine antibiotic dual and resulting stomach upset (immodium and probiotic). Coughing. There's no way I can wear a mask to stop germs. All I can do is spray the air. Very catchy.
H. has been gone or outside most of the time. The Dr. said I got this in the ER when I was there with H. Dr. very unhappy I went in ER with him. This too will pass.

I need a walker with a seat. The doctor wrote a note to qualify me for a free walker from the government. OMG! The hoops you have to jump through to qualify is amazing! You have to go to the CLSC and they'll do a series of tests to see if you qualify. If your condition is temporary, you don't get one. How do I know if my condition is temporary, or if it will be fixed? You also have to insure it and they want it back in the same condition. In the end, it's not yours and you have to give it back.
DS wouldn't know it's a loaner or what to do with it when I croak. I just bought one on Amazon. It's MINE, and I even got free shipping.
