Can you freeze the cookies Taz? I did that for my cookie table at my wedding. I was paranoid to the max about food allergies so I personally baked them all. Yes, I'm insane. I was just thinking about freezing them after I posted. We have a ton and I despise my scale at the moment.

Debating what to eat for lunch. I'm back at work (I WFH though) but I'm tired of leftovers and the food in my house and the take out options I'm ridiculous, I know, LOL.

I don't know the answer to this. Back when I had it, even though I didn't have any symptoms, I stayed home for 2 weeks. That was hard! Maybe ask the family what their thoughts are on the subject? I still remain more cautious when it comes to COVID than most people, so consider that when I share my opinion. If I were you, and I wanted to go, I would share the situation and the latest information I have with the host (including negative test results if you have them by then) and ask them how they felt about us coming. I would try to make it clear that if, given the information I provided, they preferred we didn’t come, there would absolutely not be any hard feelings or offense taken on my end. Since COVID seems to have little rhyme or reason and can make even people with the vaccines terribly ill (or worse), even though the vaccines make that less likely, I give people I know and socialize with, the same courtesies I’d like them to give me, if there is a known potential for exposure. Visiting with people I know is different from hanging out in public places with random strangers imo. If I go out in public, I am taking the risk that somebody might be there knowing they have COVID. Being willing to take that risk is on me. But, hanging out with people I know is different, I feel like I have a responsibility to be upfront with them if I have a situation. But that’s just me, with my admission that I am still kind of weird about COVID. I agree with this. I'd run it by the host.

I feel somewhat productive. the laptop is fully charged, and I've booked one of the two flights I need for March's cheap-o cruise as well as the hotel for the night before boarding. still haven't figured out what I want for a chest freezer, partially b/c I'm having a hard time visualizing dimensions based on listed cubic feet. I think I'm going to just run in to Lowe's when I go to Walmart and check some out in person. that's the plaza across the street. up next, putting this laptop away again and a nice hot shower. happy Wednesday, everyone!

I know too many people who have hurt themselves playing pickle ball. Same with riding a bicycle. I don't do either "healthy activity." Some of my HS classmates (1971) are avid pickleball players. Maybe I won't take that up. I do bicycle but 99% is on bike trails, which minimizes my encounters with cars. Great book and an interesting story. I remember hearing Jim Cramer interview her when the company was in operation- as always with his CEO interviews, he was worshipful and admiring. A good reminder that sometimes the gurus get it wrong and that CEOs get where they are at least partly because they talk a good game.

I did not sleep well last night. I had a 22 pound cat jumping on my bed 4 times, wanting to be cuddled.

I think it is only for a year. After a year they stop forwarding unless you wish to pay approx $40 to continue the forward. I just got notification that my forwarding was getting ready to stop. DD still uses my mailing address once in a while What I found that helps is I put a piece of tape on the inside door of the mailbox with our last names. It also seemed to stop the flow of previous owners mail. Yes the actual forwarding has stopped but it's supposed to notify the post office it is now your address of record. This had my address on it as that is the address she has given the company. I have received all kinds of mail addressed here since they moved to Toronto, almost 3 years ago. So why did this one get returned. I received checks for her pay from the University of Michigan twice. She said the December check from this company is always the largest and it's going to be on her 1099. She never received the check. I reported it missing on the dashboard and nothing. So I called the post office. Postmaster kept telling me we don't have any Russians here. 1st, don't discriminate like that. 2nd, she is Ukranian not Russian and that was an insult. No, I did not tell NIL that part. I did the tape thing with their names and dad's name because his mail was also forwarded here. There was no previous owner for my house. I just get the wrong person's mail periodically. She can't have the checks direct deposited?

Check out the uprights, too. They're so much easier to see what you have. I've actually got one that can switch from freezer to refrigerator. I bought it for my camper, but use it in my garage, too.

I took DD1 and DD3 out shopping just to get out of the house. Spent way to much money. The missy now has enough bath bombs to keep her in bath heaven for the next several months. And I did pay half price for them.

I honestly don't need that much extra space, my bottom-freezer fridge in the kitchen just has a really shitty layout. I just want to be able to put a turkey in there, stack up some cooked proteins for the pups to make vacation prep less stressful, and maybe have a little space to stock up when there's meat sales. right now, a 12lb turkey is taking up half the big lower bin in my kitchen fridge, and it's a PITA. that, and what little research I've done has uprights coming in at $800 to start. not really what I was looking to spend.

BJs run is complete. just waiting on the rotisserie chickens to cool a little so I can shred them. Punk is laying on the floor in the kitchen, looking abused lol.... for the record, they will both get bites while I'm shredding. I had an interesting observation from my trip, though. curious if anyone else has noticed stuff like this. I buy canned pumpkin by the case when they have it, seasonally in the fall. these are the big ~28oz cans, packaged in 3pks for $10.49. price is decent, nothing stellar, but I can buy a case of cans and throw them in the basement rather than buying a few at a time on grocery runs and using up half the bags I brought with me. today, I wandered down the aisle and was surprised to see a single 3pk on the shelf, just sitting on top of something else. you know I grabbed it! well, it rang up at 5.98. no sale sign, no notice of anything. what the hell? I'd buy a pallet at $5.98/3pk if I knew when the price changes....

She can't have the checks direct deposited? Not from this particular company. The first summer they were gone, they were not sure if they would still be at their home for the Michigan class in the US. It ended up being virtual and she was not given the option to do the paperwork for direct deposit. The 2nd summer, she did the paperwork for direct deposit, but a check was sent any way. This past summer, her check was direct deposited. When they first moved, I was receiving lots of checks for refunds--day care, trash, etc. that had been paid in advance. I paid the woman who cleaned out their house before it went on the market and they reimbursed me. The only check I get now is from this company. She has checked several times with them about direct deposit and has been told no every time. It's a company that publishes academic books, etc.

Eating leftover pozole. Y'all, it came out really good! MIL made Pozole too. I have to remember to throw it in the Freezer before we leave on vacation. We have a big pot, and I can't eat it (Corn allergy). Glad your Pozole came out good. For us it is a family favorite, so we are going to have to buckle down and figure out the measurements. MIL measures things using a pinch of this and a handful of that style, so it is hard to replicate her recipes.

I NEED those chickens, not only for a quick meal, but that is Sushi's supper every evening. Chicken breast. He howls when it's not coming and I was forced to buy a pack of expensive skinless, boneless chicken breasts and cook them myself.

Costco does this, I think it’s the rotisserie chickens that don’t get sold, the meat gets picked and they get sold. I bought a pack when Harpo had pancreatitis, and he was on a chicken and rice diet. Made my life a lot easier.

Colon and Panama City today. It was very, very warm. Lots of interesting architecture, and not near enough time. We go through the canal tomorrow.
Yesterday, TD went on the top deck to get pics of our sail away, and his hat was a casualty of the wind. It went overboard. Whoops! The cap I brought with me gives me a headache, so now both of us need head coverings to protect us from the sun. I’ve gotta figure this out.

I like where your head's at, Mich. I don't actually mind this chore, as long as I'm not handling nuclear hot chicken.

I hate it when my courses get redesigned. The first assignment in a course I'm working on has 3 different due dates.
I'm 1/5 th the way through. Blergh.

Had a wonderful alone time shopping at Marshall's this morning and got some good clothes and shoes. I was going to visit Dick's too (3 doors down) but they had police units blocking the entrance and some dude in cuffs being invited to the backseat. Either early shoplifter, they found a burglar when they opened the store, and an irate employee went after a manager.
DH was productive while I was gone, trimming a plant, treating ant bed and changing the bulb in an outside light.
Tomorrow I'm once again waiting for the unicorn AKA generator repair person, so I'll be running loads of laundry, ironing, literally going through my sock and undie drawer to replace the nasties, and washing and chopping collard greens for the black-eyed peas I'll cook Saturday for New Year's Day eating. I'll also label new 2023 folders for bank and brokerage statements, EOB's and that sort of stuff. Anything to keep me from losing my stuff if the guy doesn't show up or going off on him if he does.

They're so handy. I pick at them when I'm not hungry due to my meds, but need to eat. I have no room in my kitchen for anything else. There's eve no room for the SodaStream my son bought me. I have NO idea where to put it.

Sushi gets a small can of cat food for lunch, for the taurine. Evenings, it's chicken breast. He's about 15 now, and he's earned it. He kept me sane during the two years of isolation during Covid, talking to me and keeping me company. He talks a lot.
