What is she being hospitalized for? Hopefully she gets released as soon as it’s safe for her to be released. I thought she just had the flu and was being dramatic. Turns out she had a kidney infection and was septic. Well, the fact that she's chomping at the bit to get out is a good sign. I'm assuming they're pumping her full of intravenous antibiotics.

I had a pea. One pea, and 4 glasses of ginger ale. stomach issues? Yes, as usual.

Today, I tried on all my swimsuits, because I want to go swimming. I weigh exactly the same as I did before DS was born. 123. However, the suits look awful on me. I weigh the same but everything has somehow......shifted. I have two glorious vintage one-piece suits from the 50s. With one, I can't get it up over my ass. and with the other, the cups no longer fit.

No idea why they don't list bra size why two pieces do. Ironically my complaint with one pieces are length not boobs cuz god knows I go braless a lot, though can't get one piece swimsuits past my elbows.

These suits don't have the thigh high-cuts. They look something like this. I felt very comfortable in them.

Good morning, you founts of erudition and feeling, sharing your life in Y Ma'am and hence to my trusty laptop. Happy Tuesday. I hope your day allows you and your family to (re-)claim robust good health and recovery from the exploits of the holidays, sufficient to enjoy the holiday to come. Yesterday didn't end up like I'd planned. I got DD to the airport and then, 45 minutes later when I was back at home, she called to say her flight had been cancelled. It wasn't just her flight. Thousands of flights across the country were cancelled yesterday and the day before. I returned and picked her up. When I tried rebooking her the site showed no availability for the next 2 weeks anywhere near the D.C. area. She tried a dozen times by phone and could not get through. So, I bought her a train ticket. She'll be leaving this morning for a 6 hour ride. Kind of crazy. Before all that she and I went to the beach and she collected a bagful of whelk, scallop, oyster and quahog shells. And before that, Franklin and I went to the beach and saw the sun rise.

Good Morning! Thanks for the pictures! I am expecting my copy of your dinosaur book tomorrow. I plan to give it to My SIL to read to her 6 grands who are all dinosaur crazy. Can you briefly tell me why you call the birds tiny dinosaurs (for her dinosaur crazy grands6 mos-4 years old). I figure I know why, but I really want to hear your explanation. Glad you found a solution for your DD. I am afraid we will have issues on Friday.

I think if you have a long torso, you can order tall or something like that at Lands' End.

If they don’t work, I have others.

My time away from work is fading quickly. 😩 I feel that. Mine is done. On the upside, I've put in my time doing the domestic thing, and it is also done. My fridge is full of leftovers. DH hasn't cooked a full meal since Friday. ETA: I also decided I'm going to do a modified 12in12 on new years eve.

Today we are in Cartagena, Columbia. TD and I are going in different directions, so he leaves about an hour earlier than I.
We decided to split on excursions last time. There are some things he wants todo that my hips won’t do, so I try to find something else. Kind of kicking myself I didn’t choose the excursion on Colombian cooking, but it was not inexpensive. This should be a moot point, as he will dive and it will cost.

I lived there for 3 months, the blandest food in the world, imo. lol Old town Cartagena is a nice site, hit the backstreets there to get a feel of the non-tourist feel of Colombia. I also was there on a cruise stop in January, nice weather. Did spend 3 days there in June, 1998, it was awful. 100 degrees, 95% humidity. yuck.

It is a gorgeous day out today, about 80 and sunny. I think the excursion today hits old town for me. I know TD’s does. Our room docked on the east this morning, he crawled out of bed to check our surroundings and both of us were blinded by the sun. After the last few days, seeing the sun is a good thing. It was very briefly out yesterday, before then last time we saw it was Fort Lauderdale!

Doing grocery pick up and getting my mail that's been on hold this morning. It will be cold until the car warms up.
When I get home, I have to schedule cleaning the house and the light repair on my car. The part is in.

Just got my nose pierced. It's not quite as spontaneous as it sounds, but I still had a wth am I doing moment when I sat down. That just sounds so painful! It really wasn't. What was more disconcerting to me was the "pop!" sound of the cartilage when they pushed the needle through. Then every once and awhile I snag the post on something. I got it caught on a towel once that was interesting because I was standing there in the bathroom with a towel hanging off my nose debating on if it was worth hurting my pride to call DH for help or should I just go ahead and risk ripping my nose off?

Turkey is in the oven. I was shocked when I got it out to see that it is 22 pounds! I usually spatchcock for better cooking but I didn't have anything large enough to hold hold it flattened out, so it will be in the oven most of the day. Which gives me a reason to veg out and catch up on some shows.

We had the truck conveniently parked at the end of the driveway (so less to shovel behind to get it out) and had piecemeal shoveled all the cars out yesterday. The truck started up like a champ yesterday (so DH could move it for clearing purposes). Today, it doesn't want to turn over. So it's blocking us from getting any of the other cars out instead. DH & DS4 tried to push it back to it's normal parking spot on the side of the driveway, won't budge. DS4 called his boss for a ride. So then we set about widening the shoveled area, so another car could squeak past it. Those snowbanks are waist high in places, and packed so that you have to chop it vertically to release blocks to lift and throw. DH thinks the fuel line might be frozen. When he opened the hood to look, it was FULL of snow! It's supposed to warm up to the 40s, maybe 50s, but not for a few days. It's always something new, never the same problem you figured out and solved the last time...

Back home after an uneventful drive yesterday evening. I'm having a hard time getting moving this morning after almost a week with family but will eventually exercise and do some house cleaning. No plans to go out. Last night I pretty much got everything out of the car but plunked it down wherever there was a space, then had a hard time finding my Apple Watch charger and my Nook, both of which turned up after some wild searches. Yesterday I took the kids to Starbucks, which was inside a grocery store where I picked up cut fresh veggies for the road trip home and they REALLY wanted a tray of cut fresh fruit. How can I turn down a request like that? After that we went into Marshall's, where we'd been a few days before, because the girls wanted to check out the toys since they had Christmas money. I've been really happy with the tactic of giving them money- they really weigh purchases when they make decisions. I would not personally have chosen a set of plastic foods made in China that had all the ingredients to make tacos but they immediately added it to their supply of pretend food and started playing Restaurant when they got home. There was a pretty long line at Marshall's- after-Christmas bargain hunters (no sales on toys, of course) and probably people with gift cards. I saw an interesting side of my oldest granddaughter and I hope it's not a specter of adolescence. (She turns 9 in April.) She got an elaborate Lego Friends set (the private jet) and took some of it apart for some reason, then had a meltdown because she couldn't figure out how to get it back together. (The instruction manual is a small paperback, there are so many steps.) We could NOT convince her to calm down and use her brain. DDIL finally finished working on younger sister's Lego set, came over, figured out where to start in the instructions and got it back together. My sweet DGD was back again. Wow.
