Waiting for DH to wake up so that we can take the trash to the and the fridge to DS.
Calm and relaxing day at home yesterday. I was hoping to brine the turkey I took from the freezer on Saturday that I hoped to cook tomorrow, but that may end up waiting until the weekend - unless I try to defrost it quicker in cold water.

trying to motivate myself to get out of bed and get moving. I didn't sleep very well last night, with a couple stretches of being wise awake. I dozed off again after turning off my alarm* and that dream was super vivid and unsettling, too.
weather bug says it is 19 degrees outside, ugh. at least it is sunny.
*alarm is now off for the week. oops

I'm planning on doing a couple of things out in the yard after it warms up, and hopefully attacking that one closet that's bugging me.

Ugh. I'm not used to buying things that need security tags removed. I gave both of my DGDs slippers, with the security tags still attached. (Self check out) I don't know if I have the receipt. I'll be taking them back, begging for help. Great gift, grandma!

That seems even weirder.

A pair of needle nose pilers can get it off. Slide them between the button parts and lift while wiggling slightly. Pops off after a couple minutes.

I need to get dressed and drag my butt to the mall. My mom's husband had surgery this year and lost weight. So she told me to get a smaller size in the sweatshirts. He still thinks he needs the bigger size. I should have ordered the replacements on Christmas day when she told me. Now they are way more money on Macy's where I got the originals. I had been trying to figure out the logistics of returning. A different department store supposedly has them locally.

k, I'm up. bathrooms have been cleaned, pups have been fed, and I'm halfway through my cup of coffee. breakfast may be a thing soon, maybe.
I think my plan for today is to tackle the frames in the hallway and declutter my main floor of the remnants of cardboard and paper bags that Punk has half-shredded the past few days. we haven't been up here much, so it hasn't bothered me. today, it bothers me. 🤣

Up and moving. We have another long drive today and it snowed again last night, so that should be pleasant. Yesterday was fun, but very long and overstimulating, especially after having 3 days of being home alone.

Got up at 6 to go to the bathroom. Wasn't ready to get up and fell back asleep--until 9:30 AM.
I've ordered grocery pick up for tomorrow. Hope the pumpkin pie is available. Last time I only got the cool whip. Don't give me the cool whip if you aren't going to give me the pie.

The Toddler told me Santa came in through the balcony door after cookies and milk were left for him. He is showing me his new solar system that can also be a planetarium by project on the ceiling. He was really into it. He told me Santa brought it. I sent it. Then his daddy told him to thank me for it and Toddler said no, daddy. Santa brought that. I also sent a book and he said I sent the book so he thanked me for the book. Silly daddy. He also kept telling me Santa came to Grandma's house. Daddy said they have a toy that is a family--grandma, grandpa, mom and dad, and a boy and girl. That is the house where Santa visited. Not the farm where his grandma lives or Lincoln Nebraska where his other grandma is currently.

WWYD - 3 people in my house tested positive for Covid yesterday. Mine and DD1’s symptoms started yesterday. Not sure on DH’s. He didn’t feel great on Friday but thought it was something else. He only tested because I tested positive. On Tuesday night, DH and I went to my department’s Christmas dinner and say by my boss (who’s pregnant with twins). On Wednesday, I went to my company’s Christmas party in the early afternoon. On Friday evening, we got word that a kid at DD2’s daycare had tested positive for Covid that night (the kid was there during the day symptom free). I’m not sure if it’s a kid in DD2’s room (that wasn’t told to us).
Should I tell my boss that 3 in my family have Covid?
FWIW, I’m on PTO this week so I wasn’t going in anyway.

Got my snow day! DH and I were working on digging out the middle section of the driveway. Taking a break, will go back to it later.
Last night had a video call with all the kids living out of town and the Hawaii gang. Grandson wanted to keep switching his shirts, to show off all his new clothes. We also got to hear his mom read a new Curious George book to him, and he showed us various cars and trucks. New baby only wanted to nap on mom or dad, not in her bed. The other kids had various pets lounging on/with them - roommate's cat for DS2, a whole menagerie of dogs & cats with DD3 who was at her ILs with her DH's sibs that all brought pets.
And then we settled down to watch a Charlie Brown Christmas, followed by Hogfather. Terry Prachett is so good with his snarky commentary mixed with absurdity.

I always wash bedding right before someone stays. just put the comforters back on, and pillowcases if that's visible. fold the rest and stick in a drawer til you need them again.

Had a nice afternoon and dinner. Her sister and hubs entertain all the time. We had a mix of Russian, Puerto Rican, Kazachastan, maybe Ukraine, not quite sure. The food was great, things we had never eaten before, but excellent. The company fun, they try to make sure we are included. Hubs, son, and grandson were playing dominoes, hubs had not before. He said little grandson held his own for awhile against the guys. He was having a ball. We heard all kinds of music too. Just a nice evening, even my husband enjoys that bunch. They seem to come here and get good jobs too. Time for my shower. I forgot to say DD was treated well and enjoyed herself too. DIL's sister had been married before to a not so good guy, her stepdaughter was there too, so nice she has somewhere to be included. That sounds like a really nice time. I’m so happy for you that you all had such an enjoyable evening together.

Good Afternoon Kids! I went to two different Walgreens to try & score some Christmas candy at half price. Only one of the two Walgreens had their candy on clearance. A customer asked the cashier at the 2nd store if they just hadn't put up sale signs yet, but she said, no, it hadn't gone on clearance. Oh well, I probably spent too much at the first Walgreens anyway.

Kickboxed this morning, then a quick breakfast and out shopping. DH needs a new turntable (did not find one) and I need a new wallet (did not find one). Oh, well. I took out ingredients for a lasagna (for the rest of the week; tonight is leftovers) and some cookies. Dryer is running now and it warmed up enough to remove the coverings from the vegetale garden, though the sun is still not out.

They're standard at every Russian/Ukranian party. They're filled with meat or vegetables or mushrroms.

Gwen got $70 for Christmas and asked me to take her to the mall today. May God have mercy on my soul.
Bath and Body Works is bonkers! It's like old school Black Friday up in there.

I got a gift card to Bath and Body Works too. I don't know for how much. I usually end up giving gift cards to one of my girls. I'm definitely not going there today! You're a good mom.

Bath and Body Works was pretty calm. Black Friday was way worse. There was no line to get in today. I also got the sweatshirts I needed at the department store.

Getting ready to bring DD to the airport. Maybe I'll go later to Tractor Supply and see if they have a tree topper on sale. We had none; gave them all up on the way out of Maryland, so we used a bow. It was effective but temporary.

Kids were up at 1am for medicine dose (both were at 102) but temperatures were normal this morning! DD2's crept up to almost 100 around lunchtime, but they look a lot better and have more energy today.
We are still hanging out at home and will continue to do so all week.
