Speaking of budgets, we went to a Quince Party Yesterday and my SIL mentioned her Older Grandaugher’s Mother asked about having one. I told my SIL tell her we don’t believe in Quinceañeras, sends a bad message when girls s/b focused on College. I said this is $$ that could be in a college fund. My SIL then told me her Daughter’s wedding cost $40,000. I told my SIL to tell her Son’s Ex she would collect money from family and put it in a college fund (held by them or her Son). The Mom is not bad, I just think she is thinking her Ex’s family will pay for everything so why not. The only niece/Granddaughter that had a Quince party got PG and dropped out of HS of the other 5 3 finished their BS degrees. Not sure about One of my niece’s-She is in TX, she may have some sort of degree, but I have not seen her in about 20 years. My daughter called a bit ago, and I told her how much A’s wedding cost, then she told me that the food for the wedding (just the food) she just went to in Canada cost $24,000.

That felt wonderful, sure made my body and foot feel better! Ahhhhhhh
I use Dr Teals a lot, but this epsom salts I ordered off the net from Amazon. No fragrance but that's ok. DD and I need to get back to getting our massages again.
She is walking up and down the back steps from house to garage. She said she is doing it 4 times in the mornings. Guess it's better than nothing.
She seems to be doing better the last few days. I told her she just has to move. Going to start having her help me clear the table after dinner. And she needs to clean her sink and mirror, she will do it, I just have to remind her daily, I'm sure.

I'm going to have to call the vet on Monday. Sushi is an old man and is starting to limp. I want to know if it's safe to give him a whole baby aspirin. He's over 20 pounds, so it should be OK if I don't do it every day. The proper dose of aspirin for a cat is 10mg/kg once every 72 hours Does he limp all the time, or is he maybe suffering temporary soreness from all his fly-strip exercise program yesterday? He was limping before the glue strip. The vet is going to think he's abused. He has 17 quarter-sized bald spots on his L side. He doesn't mind being at the vet's, and likes to play with and inspect all the animals in the waiting room. I can't let him out of his carrier this time, as it looks like some horrific, contagious skin disease.

I'm currently waiting on pasta to finish cooking, so I can go park myself on the deck with Sunday Night Baseball. I brought the pups with me on the road trip to the airport, and fed them dinner when we got home. I haven't seen LD since he finished eating, and Punk is giving me stinkeye from the floor next to my feet. she'll be snoring soon as well. so great to meet you IRL, andi. yesterday was a ton of fun with the group that descended here. definitely come back, we'll find more trouble! I had a ton of fun. Thank you guys for traveling to meet up and putting up with me. I'm so glad we were able to get together.

At my DD’s school the LF is about $29. I might pay it. Late, not necessarily the end of the world. She should be able to grant him access to her account. He then should get reminders when tuition payments are due and ability to pay on line. Also if she has a car on campus he might want to address who pays parking tickets. My DD would get them b/c her parking area was full so she parked in a different lot. It was easier for me to pay than argue, and I didn’t want to create stress for her with everything else she had going on. The school just added the parking tickets to the monthly statement. If you don’t pay, the add interest. You can’t enroll in classes for next term till all tuition and fees are paid. He ended up telling OD to give YD the card OD has on one of his accounts, so YD could pay whatever it was. That turned into OD getting bent out of shape because Mister has been getting on her about charging stuff on the card and carrying a balance instead of paying it off. Idk what that had to do with Mister telling her to give YD the card to use for something HE was going to pay off, but that’s what happened. OD has a car, but YD doesn’t. I just can't grasp the sense of entitlement with this kid. She actually has a credit/debit card that she just charges things to in his name. Then when he tells her to use it for a need for her sister, she gets mad at him?! Send her to my house for a week. Wait until she has to do her own laundry and clean the house and make her own money. I also don't put up with disrespect! I'll straighten her out.

I'm afraid I've got some sad news to share. My relative passed away today. It caught everyone off guard, as neither the nursing home staff nor the hospice team saw it coming. While I'm glad he's no longer in pain, he will be missed. I'm really sorry.

My girls never had a Quince. I didn't have the money. Plus, that money would have been better spent on school or a car to get to work or school.

Good morning, unflagging and engaging invisipeeps of Y Ma'am. I hope your Monday offers you something to delight in and nothing lets the air out of your tires.
Something has conspired to let the air out of one of my Prius's tires, enough to activate the warning light that always looks to me like water. Now I need to figure out which tire and add enough air to bring it up to snuff. Hope it's not a nail. Is it just me, or is anyone else mystified by nails and screws puncturing tires? Why don't they just harmlessly fall over under the pressure of the moving tire? I'd think it would take an exceptional circumstance for the nail to actually damage the steel-belted tire. But no, those things line up just the right way repeatedly.
DSis is coming today to help me do more unpacking. It's a slow process. And DH is taking us out to eat at one of the finest restaurants in New England. Can't wait.

Morning all. Moving slowly this morning. Back to work today. The 2 days off were nice. Had a nice birthday on Friday. Hoping I am not walking into a disaster.

Went to the laundromat and the breakfast with BFF this morning. DC (formerly known as dd - gotta respect pronoun preferences), is at the pool with friends. They're growing up a little too fast. I'd love to nap, but need to clean, plant some flowers, work with the dog. Ugh. May pick up my home depot order and then stop at the thrift store for more metal bowls for nosework for devil dog. DC = dear child? Yep

I'm feeling sleepy still this morning. I'm drinking coffee and pondering the five hour drive for work today. I have to travel to a town two and a half hours away. It won't be bad, though, I'll just listen to podcasts coming and going.

Well, I got another bag together for good will. You all should make this a drinking game.
And filled up our recycling. Like, it's a problem. I think I may be able to pull this off. It may be a little rough early going,
With DS in the process of moving out, DH and I are beginning this process. I took a vacation day today just because DH is off and we had planned to do something fun. But the weather is crappy so instead we are starting with cleaning out at least one of the storage buildings. We already have a good sized load for the , and today will likely produce a large pile for charity. Once DS has completely moved out we will start redoing his room. His bedroom is at one end of our ranch style house, so once that is done we plan to continue through the rest of the house.

After a weekend full of fun 4 wheeling with friends and kayaking, the weather has turned so today will be spent cleaning and decluttering. What fun.

His bedroom is at one end of our ranch style house, so once that is done we plan to continue through the rest of the house. I think I'm going to have to carve out a couple hours a week to sit down with DS to get his room cleaned out before he goes. The good news is that I made good progress on a closet and set of bookshelves.
Some things, though, I can't clear out until DD1 is at home, so she can make some decisions. It's all very argh. But good. Plus I'm trying to do things like clean our carpet. It was OK, but covid and my health really have pushed it over to the edge. I was hoping to replace soon, but, with what we are laying out for DD1's furniture, and spending to get DS ready for school, there's not going to be any extra money for that for a while. So, carpet cleaning, for the win. I think things will get easier again, with the missy in school full time. But, then, my teaching load is likely going to be heavy, work is heavy, and in all reality, if DH is doing the schlepping and homework at night, he's going to need some time during the day. Which means, he won't get as much done. So, It's just best I keep telling myself things will get easier again.

We agreed that we are done with carpet, so starting with DS's room we will be replacing with laminate. My dad did his house over the winter and it looks great, so we will be doing the work ourselves. Already warned DH that we will need to purchase more than enough for the whole house so it will match. He's not thrilled, but is onboard.

Decided to make breakfast before starting the heavy lifting, so bacon is on the griddle. I bought a pack of thick cut on a whim this week, which will be enough for DH and I and maybe some leftover for sandwiches. I'm finally starting to get used to cooking for 2.

I'm enjoying a breakfast of leftovers. a slice of the small banana bread loaf Malarky brought from her bakery, a reheated slice of spinach quiche I made for brunch yesterday for the ladies who crashed here Saturday night, and a glass of wine from the bottle I opened for finnime. my inbox was (and is) a hot mess from taking Friday off. ugh. I'll be supporting another FDA inspection this week for a different CMO, and another lot of product was packaged incorrectly somewhere else and will be rejected. I'd really like to just shut my laptop back down, but that's not going to make the problem go away. but, it's beautiful out today. I haven't had to put the AC back on since last week, and the pups and I are all outside.
