I also just purchased $275 in makeup for the girls. With points and a coupon I paid $16.37.

I just happened to look out the dining room window and noticed the front gate was ajar. I went out and looked and it's stuck. My guess is the tree guys tried to open it outward and it opens inward. They must have really yanked on it. The thing that goes in the lock is pulled pretty far forward and stuck in the wood. I think I'm gonna have to take it off and put it back on. Yeah, that's called man muscling - what they do when their biceps are bigger than their brain

Not really chilly enough, but I had the turkey carcass and leftover turkey, and a container of broth, so soup it is. I threw in leftover green vegetables and the last package of ramen noodles. Tomorrow, I will make and add matzoh balls.
Baked barbecued chicken for dinner tonight.
Now, that is fusion food of the best kind!

Turns out I'm going to have a PT roomie. T1 lives an hour and a half away. Her GF had a job that fell through there so she's going back to her old job here. When she has to work the next day, she'll stay here. When she's off, she'll go home.

Found a ton of broken glass in the back corner of my storage locker courtesy of the assholes who moved out of the locker behind mine. Obviously they broke a very heavy vase and just threw the remnants over the wall. Luckily I spotted the glass all over the storage bins BEFORE I grabbed them. Office confirmed that unit had moved out so no recourse but they were extremely apologetic.

I need y'all to send some powerful juju my way or I might respond to a friend's FB post "If you take your kids to the mall to meet Santa, why don't you take them to church to meet Jesus?" And it would not end well

I’m sorry for Teen but teens in general can be impulsive. No reason given. Came outta nowhere. Just really sucks as they seemed so good together. Teen doesn't wanna talk to me about it so I'm encouraging her to choose a friend to talk to. Sucks bc her mental health was finally, slowly getting better now that she's confirmed to stay with us and enjoy the stability.

And her dad chose today to blow up her phone insisting she answer. She replied that she's going thru too much today and she'd talk tomorrow. His response was to say she needs to be grateful bc he's the only reason she didn't go home with her mother after that mtg a couple weeks ago. Holy fuck, gaslight alert.
She texted that she's not sure when he will be unavailable again so she's allowed to be guarded. He accused her of rewriting history and reminded her that she needs him to get any medical appts. Holy fuck, lack of emotional intelligence alert.
And did I mention we have 3 inches of snow in the ground. Drove the last hour home in it last night. I want to go back to the beach.

I put my YMAM card up for the weekend - I got my new loveseat yesterday and picking it up Tuesday! As I was coming back into town, I stopped at the Holiday Festival and bought 2 pottery bowls. They were a bit expensive but just so beautiful! The bowls are dishwasher/oven and microwave safe too. If anyone is interested check out Shoalwaterpottery.com link

The dog will stay home with T1. Only GF will be doing all the traveling. She was freaking out after the spat and vowed that her dog will never come back to this house while Macy lives in it. I can't blame her. It was scary. It seemed to come out of nowhere. My parents had just walked through the door and Macy jumped on the other dog. There was no food out and the other dog wasn't doing anything. Luckily I was standing right there when it happened so I managed to pull her off fast.

Well I guess I quoted myself instead of editing. I'm getting old.

My extremely mellow dog and my son's extremely mellow dog got into it once. Mine was slightly smaller and her mouth was ear level to the bigger dog. She managed to nip the bigger dog's snout and ear. We took the dog to urgent care and they cleaned her up, no stitches. They gave her an antibiotic as I recall.
The dogs weren't the best of friends but they did tolerate each other for the most part. Both dogs were walking into his kitchen, mine following the bigger dog. A tube of gift wrap fell over unexpectedly and the big dog, who was skittish, got spooked and tried to reverse course out of the kitchen but my dog was right behind. That freaked out my dog.
I felt like you did. I never would have guessed the dogs would have an encounter like that.

I'm sort of getting to the point of realizing that choosing to disengage emotionally from someone does not necessarily make me a bad person or bad friend. I'm no longer willing to ride their emotional roller coaster from "I'm the happiest I've ever been" to talk of bankruptcy and death. I don't know which perspective is their actual reality; the truth is probably somewhere in between the 2 extremes. There's nothing I can do to shift the scale for them - that's their work to do. Just saying...

Maybe I will get my Christmas card labels printed today. Maybe I won't. The labels are sitting by the printer. I don't want to hit print until after J calls. Maddow thinks anything that comes out of the printer is HIS and only HIS.

Great. I am making turkey and noodles and it smelled like something was burning. It's because there is. There was a piece of food under one of the burners. It was burning. So I switched burners and now I get to scrape it off after the stove cools off later. Ugh!

Talk about jumping from the frying pan into the fire. You’ve got one parent playing stupid control games and you’ve got another blackmailing her for medical treatment. BT just can’t get a break. Some people should never have had kids if they’re going to use them like this. Can you store these messages to show her case worker? There needs to be a paper trail of the shit coming from this direction too.

Yesterday, I put the new quilt I bough5 onto the bed. TD took the old one (I got 20+ years out of this Eddie Bauer quilt) and put it in the dog’s kennel. He figured it had our scent on it and she’d like it to nest in.
The cat took over the dog’s kennel…..and the quilt.

My little dog is about to get a bath. It simultaneously breaks my heart and cracks me up to see the look of betrayal on her face. She will forgive me pretty quickly, especially with some smoked turkey thrown into the mix.

When I got up yesterday and this morning, the dogs had their pj’s on. They looked so cute! We bought them pj’s a couple months ago, because Mister does go along with me needing the house cool at night because I get so hot. But I compromise as much as I can during summer, to try to not overwork the a/c, but when it gets cool/cold outside, we let the house get cooler at night. The dogs don’t really do well being cold, so that is why they are wearing their pajamas now.
I have seen all kinds of cute stuff I’d like for Newbie, sweaters and even a denim jacket for when we go out. They don’t seem to make as much cute (to me) stuff for male dogs, even though I wouldn’t mind “dressing” Boy too. Boy gets excited when we put his pajamas or coat on him, and gets to be such a wriggly butt that it’s hard to put it on. Then he doesn’t want us to take it off. Newbie doesn’t care about any of it, we can put her stuff on or take it off with no problem.

I was finally able to print the Christmas card labels. Somehow my spreadsheet was messed up.
Started checking addresses and found out another person on my list died last summer. I can't be getting that old that my friends are dying.
