Lovely soft rain falling this morning. We are/were in a severe drought, so this is most welcome.

Just finished eating pancakes. My bedding is in the washer/dryer. I need to go to the store at some point today, but it's raining. Ugh!

update - there add now *five* cruisers outside my house, and a pair of guys that I know are friends of my neighbor's son have been outside to speak to the first two officers. mom and the three guys are back inside, and a PD tech is going all over the bonus SUV with photos and dusting door handles. another couple showed up in their own vehicles and are hanging out in the driveway of the vacant house next to K, they also spoke to one of the officers. I would bet something got stolen, and the other couple is who was stolen from. this is crazy!
oh, wait, I was wrong. the other couple must be parents of the other two guys. bc the cops just opened the SUV and both guys got out of the newest car and walked back over. this is still nutty.

Actually, MN has 3 options to vote now. You can request a ballot to mail in, you can vote early in person, or you can vote on election day. Aren’t 3 options available now in every state? Absentee (mail) ballots have been common for a long time. It’s early in person that is ‘new’ No, WA only has mail in ballots. We receive our ballots about 3 weeks before Election Day. They are sent out automatically.

My county set a new record with over 1.7 million ballots cast both by mail and in-person during the early voting period. We are forecast for heavy rain on Tuesday which may reduce that turnout.
I too dread the possibilities of the days and weeks ahead as violence is very prevalent in our society now, both politically motivated and otherwise.

I am sooooo tired. Hubs is some too. We got that RSV shot yesterday and it hit me hard. They said that shot had more reactions like that and might bother us 2 or 3 days. Well it sure is, just no energy. I am going to paint the 2 window frames and as much baseboards in here as I can. today. We have both decided to do no painting next week. I am having hubs pull out the stove and frig next week so I can clean good behind those and likely paint the back wall of both. I told hubs we need to spend some time with DD and taking her places and doing some things with her. She always ends up last and that needs to change. She received her new Lands End clothes yesterday 50% off, so some nice things for her. Hubs had m e order the mirrored medicine cabinet for our small bathroom, its like the ones we had in Indiana, mirrored inside and out, it was $221. I looked at the 4 foot one for our other bathroom and its $551! Hubs thought the one we bought down there was over $700. It's Temu, but they are both Kohler brand so they must make them cheap over there and sell to other distributors. I am waiting on the expensive one for awhile, we have other expenses coming up. And we have other rooms to do before our bathroom, so it will be awhile. Soon as hubs finishes his part I will work on the white parts to be painted. I'm curious as to why you and your husband are getting the RSV shot every year when the CDC currently recommends it just once in a lifetime, especially when you reported such a bad reaction back in 2023. Does Medicare pay for the extra shots or do you have to pay out-of-pocket for those?

today's about to get spicy. I wish my front windows was open, so i could eavesdrop haha. I'm standing at my kitchen "desk" to read the Sunday paper online since I never got a paper copy. a cruiser pulled into the driveway across the street, and the officer stepped out to check out the extra SUV in the driveway. he peeked in the windows and took note of the license, which he ran through the laptop inside his cruiser. he then went up to knock on the front door, and after waiting awhile for no answer, called in something on his radio. a 2nd cruiser just pulled up, and it looks like an officer I've seen over there before. he's still talking to my neighbor and her kid. I have to wonder if the kid may be on probation of some sort after whatever all went down the day I had to call the police last summer ('23) when some crazy woman was screaming and banging on the front door when I knew the little sister was home alone. Girl! I'd be sitting on your deck with coffee watching everything go down.

We are having a November day. Yuck. Same. I want to clean up the paw prints on the floor, but they'll just be replaced with more the next time the twins go out. It's supposed to rain 5 of the next 7 days.

I wouldn't have actually heard anything. 👎 all the cruisers are gone, but the kid's parent's truck is still parked out front of K's house and idling. the SUV is still there, with the driver door open and nobody near it. so idk wtf is going on. I'm going to have to watch the police blotter. I'll update when I know more.

The new vendor at the Ravens stadium is the worst. The gates just opened and the bars don't have cranberry juice. I know crap happens but that is such a basic thing. This is going to be one of the things that makes us drop the tickets.

Welp, DS’ stomach thing is definitely contagious We’re on a weekend away…DH started throwing up in the car last night, then it hit me this morning about one a.m. The good news is that the active phase only lasts about six hours. Also the airbnb has a washer and dryer. Bad news, it meant I got basically zero sleep last night and it looks like I might’ve grabbed an empty box of migraine meds. Ginger ale and saltines all round.

We dropped our ballots in the box before we headed out yesterday evening. Told DS if you don’t vote you don’t get to complain.

Voted by absentee ballot. Looked carefully but there wasn’t a place to put date. Instructions said to sign the same as on voter roll ( at ballot center). Couldn’t remember if I used middle initial? But envelope had our middle initials so signed with initial . Hoping it is ok In 2020 NJ mailed ballots to all on voter rolls and no ballot places opened. So second time Just thinking my vote really isn’t secret when voting by mailHoping voting goes more smoothly this year than 2020 when there was the confusion of the pandemic. And hoping results are known quickly Then it will be over along with all the ads texts emails etc etc etc UGH If you truly believe this, you don't understand how voting works. When you vote in person, every thing has to check and cross check. Once your ballot goes in to the ballot box, it is a ballot among many others. It is known that you returned a ballot but not how you voted. The count will take a while because of how some states have it set up. Unless it's a landslide either way, we most likely will not know Tuesday evening.

Michelle Obama was 15 minutes from me yesterday but I didn't register for the rally. I'm burnt out from being the center of the political universe, and aside from dropping door hangers, I needed a free weekend spent with friends. I'm amped to vote on Tuesday.
Because of how the "no excuses" mail voting law was passed by the R majority back in 2019, Pennsylvania results will NOT be known on Tuesday. Counties can't even open the ballot envelopes until 7:00 am on Tuesday.

I love in a super red state and somehow we’ve had vote by mail since 2017. It’s the greatest!

It's been pouring rain all night. It feels like it's midnight outside because it's so dark.
Sump pump is running overtime. It's supposed to rain like this all day today and tomorrow. I don't like this.
Amelia usually decides it's time for her to get up (that includes me) between 5 and 6 AM. It was 4:17 AM this morning. I was not ready.
Ran to town to pick up a prescription.
Avoiding all news shows.

Carrot and I went to the zoo today and took a couple of family members along as our free guests. Tomorrow I think my aunt and I are going to try early voting. Neither one of us have ever done it before, so not certain how it all works. I thought you needed to have an absentee ballot ahead of time, but nothing she read indicated that. We'll see. We both want to just get it done with in case something happens that we can't on Tuesday. From what I see online, you and your aunt are good to go, no absentee required. These are the hours I found Sunday, November 3 -- 9 am to 3 pm Monday, November 4 -- until 5 pm Read More: Everything You Need To Know To Vote In Minnesota: Early Voting, Deadlines & More | wjon.com/vote-early-in-minnesota-election/?utm_source=tsmclip&utm_medium=referralWe voted this morning. We did have to fill out an absentee ballot application when we got there, so it wasn't really any different than the absentee ballot process, but it was pretty painless. Now I have to try to get to Sam's Club and back in less than 2 hours since Carrot wants to go to a concert at 2.
