I left a tablet in a night stand in 2019 in Kentucky. They called me while I was driving and asked if I wanted them to ship it, and charge my cc for the fees. It was like $20.

OMG. This class work put me in! I consider myself pretty smart and good with math, but I've never felt so stupid in my entire life as I have the last two days.

For jury duty here, the court won't pay you until you hit day 4. They pay $50 a day which sucks, but it's better than the $0 that dh would be getting the first 3. I'm not sure that it's illegal but it's definitely crappy. Dh is a vet tech so they do have to avoid radiology when pregnant, but not all techs do xrays, and certainly not all staff. Dh worked er for years, and those techs/staff do everything so he was told a lot of things, but that isnt always the same as disclosing to your employer. Requiring that be disclosed wouldn't hold up in court. What got me though, was actually including that you had to disclose if you had aids (or any other cgronic condition). Thats practically the reason we have the ADA. If you don't need accommodation, there's no reason to disclose. Personally I think putting pregnancy and AIDs in the same sentence is odd because pregnancy is not a disease nor inherently a disability

Pink - I get that you don't want your kids to disrespect your mom, but honestly in this case sounds like they were in the right except maybe this text meant for his sis. I want my kids to respect their elders, but I also know that DD14 was totally right to call out my aunt, her great aunt, on some racist bullshit a few weeks ago. DD's first response was respectful but then aunt doubled down and DD gave her some snark. Your story sounds kinda like that. They tried respect and are just over grandma treating you that way. I agree with you. My Mom bullies my daughter even though I’ve been telling DD for years that it’s okay to tell my Mom NO and she doesn’t have to explain why. DD struggles with it because it’s her Grandmother and all. Even when she does tell my Mom no, my Mom bullies and pesters her until DD finally gives in. She doesn’t do that with DS, nor does she talk crazy to him like she does DD and me. Probably because it is clear that DS isn’t going for her nonsense and calls her out on it immediately and firmly. Like in the text yesterday. But since we were all texting in a group chat yesterday, I didn’t want it to seem like we were ganging up on her. My children weren’t offended that I told them to stop it. Your last sentence is correct, they are over their Grandmother. I really, really appreciate them helping with her, and I love it that they have my back. And your DD is awesome!

But that is not how this document was written. For one - no matter dh's exposure to such things - the admin doesn't have any of those risks. This was the employee manual, not separated by role or risk.

Everyone is when they first take the class! It's definitely a practice skill to understand. YouTube videos is what I had to do after the class. It's a slog!

When to retest the Covid test? Symptoms started Saturday night (ie, vomiting) and continued in Sunday when I woke up (felt horrible) so I tested and was positive.
Yesterday, woke up feeling 100% normal but felt off towards dinner time. Ate and drank some Gatorade and felt much better.
Today, I still feel ok but probably colder than normal.
When should I take another Covid test to see if negative?
Due to the positive test on Sunday, the earliest I could go back to the office is Friday (assuming a negative Covid test). My boss already said to WFH this week and test this weekend. If negative, then I go into the office on Monday.
Thoughts on when to retest?

You don't have to retest. 5 days from when symptoms start and no fever you can go out but masked. Stay masked for 10 days from first symptoms.

I was going to work on it on my own last night after I got home, but my brain was fried after 7 hours of it in class. This teacher obviously knows his stuff, but sure doesn't teach it well...at least not in a way that works for me. Two more 7 hour long classes.

I just found out that an old friend died. We met at my last job over 20 years ago, she rode to work and back with me every day, because she didn’t drive. We didn’t talk often after I resigned, but we’d catch up every once in a while. I remember when she called me and told me she’d finally learned to drive and had a car, how excited she was and how funny it was to me to picture her finally driving. The last time we talked was a few months ago.
She was the kind of person, that everywhere she went, she saw somebody she knew. She was lots of fun and a real sweetheart.
In 2020, her and her siblings lost both their parents 3 weeks apart. Then a sister. Then a brother. Now she’s gone. Man this hurts. I can’t stop crying.

I attempted to fill out the OSHA form for an injury while on the job, and it was a joke. My favorite question was “energy under which the machine that injured you was running on”. My response was ATP. one size fits all does not exist and IME they use the worst possible scenario.

I'm taking a minute to process some news from some friends I've lost touch with over the years, and I'm just thinking aloud here. I'm probably going to offend some of you with the thoughts I share in this post. while I'm sorry you might be offended, I'm not sorry for sharing my thoughts. also, this post is a good 45min in the making, bc Punk keeps reaching out bc she knows I'm troubled. 😕 earlier this summer, my friend J put up a post that she and her fam were surprised by a pregnancy (she's 40+) and that tests showed it might not be viable, but they were going to see what happened. yay, choice. except that J posted more as she continued to carry this pregnancy, that things weren't going well. she posted Friday that baby C arrived early, and that they were following her lead as to how to proceed. that post had pics with her older kids holding C, all smiles. the pics of baby C just don't look even human. she's that early to be that much under-developed. well, tonight the update is that they lost C Saturday morning. am I an asshole for thinking they shouldn't have carried this questionable pregnancy to term? I am sitting here hoping that whatever that child experienced in her short life wasn't any pain. I'm so worried for the older kids that they hyped up this little sister that never had a viable chance, and now these two are mourning a shooting star. ok, I think I'm done now. I'm putting the phone down for the night. I had a friend. She gave birth to an extreme preemie, who ended up blind, with cerebral palsy. Doctors told her she shouldn't get pregnant again, but she did. She didn't abort, because she wanted to see what happened. Yay, choice! Second one was also extremely premature with cerebral palsy and blindness. She ended up killing herself and the two little girls. It was all just too much. I'm with you.

Regarding radiation exposure in the workplace, someone needs to invent a self-activated dental x-ray machine because DH and I have to skip our x-rays this year as every employee at our dental office is pregnant - dentist, hygienist, receptionist, and bookkeeper.

I can see that in some jobs, but I don't think this one was written in anyway to protect employees. It's all about control. There is a lot of questionable stuff in it, these were just the most outrageous. Cell phones must be turned off and stored in lockers. Hello - 2003 your employee manual called! They use their cells to communicate between departments and the fancy stethoscopes link through cell phones to detect heart murmurs. I'm sure there are a dozen other examples.

Gotcha - it's not a cdc requirement though. I've heard that people can test positive for weeks afterwards but we've never bothered retesting.

They use their cells to communicate between departments and the fancy stethoscopes link through cell phones to detect heart murmurs. I'm sure there are a dozen other examples. This is the rule at my employer also. Almost everybody ignores the rule. Not long after I started working there, a call was made to my job that was an emergency. Whoever answered the phone said I didn’t work there. So, of course I didn’t get the message. Ever since then, I have ignored the rule about cell phones. My bosses call me on my cell while I’m at work, asking me questions about what’s going on in my area (like how many widgets we have that need to be processed for example, which is their job to count) or telling me something they need me to do, so they don’t have to walk over to my area to see what’s going on or tell me when they need me to do something outside of my normal job. It would be weird for them to try to enforce the no cell phone policy, since they call me on my cell phone from their cell phone, throughout my work day lol.

That's why I immediately had a tubal ligation, did not want to take a chance on having another disabled child. I suffered mentally all my life over DD and still am. I too could not have done it with another.
And yes, if I had known, I would have done something about it, sadly no tests then and don't know where I would have gotten an abortion?
And most families will splinter over one. the poor mom is left with the work, and the whole problems surrounding their disabilities, some much worse than mine. My husband is far from perfect but he carried the load both financial and now just in helping, most will not.
And the main worry I have had is what is going to happen to her when I'm gone? That is why I am so concerned about my health, to try and keep going long as I can, to care for her.
I have responded through the years to whether a family should go through with it if they know. I always say no, don't do it. And some have taken my advice.

The cats are reaching and trying to turn the knobs to get in and out of the basement. They are sure tall enough when standing on their hind legs. Hubs is talking about putting the handles in that they can just pull down on to open the door. Would be interesting to see if they can do it, he has those kind in the basement now on the other doors.
DIL said it's been colder up there and she wants us to send tomatoes and veggies if we have any , she said theirs have not produced. I am going out and picking if it's stopped raining long enough. It's 70 ou and 90% humidity, was 94% not long ago.
Hubs is getting corn he is going to ice down and melons. I'm going out and pick tomatoes, pull turnips, and cukes, and peppers if we have any. They eat lots of veggies. They got their green house set up but no raised planters in it yet. They did a bunch outside before we sent it.

They are taking out the catheter today. Fingers crossed. My dad is scared. I told him mom is a medical oddity up to this point and has survived against all odds. Turns out the heart rerouting itself isn't new. I wasn't entirely sure what the nurse was saying but her heart rerouted itself a long time ago. They still have no clue exactly how someone of my mom's overall health has the cardiac issues she has. Her heart is "wired" all funny too which makes doing a bypass not an option, at least at this time. She's made it to 66 despite all that and survived t he heart attack itself. So yeah. They wouldn't take it out if they were really concerned she couldn't handle it. I said I'm sure it'll help with sleep too because she won't have to keep her leg straight and the pump won't be constantly dishing out noise. I should probably see a cardiologist at some point. We are not sure what my grandfather died of exactly it was ruled a heart attack but didn't present as a heart attack. Now my mom. I wonder if something genetic is going on. I joked last night that some medical student is going to get a paper out of my mom at this rate.

Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing I'm so lost.
Just the class title is too complex for me. andi doesn't math. Which is probably why I chose a profession where I just bust people's balls all day and negotiate deals. I just have to be a bull in a China shop which I have on lock.

I was in a weird mood yesterday and last night. Mister kept asking me what was wrong, I told him I just had a lot of stuff on my mind, which was true. He asked if he’d done something to upset me, I dodged the question because some of what was on my mind has to do with him, and I didn’t want to lie to him or talk about it.
Today, in addition to my weird mood, I am also really sad. Learning today that my friend died made some of the things that were on my mind yesterday seem more urgent. Plus, I’m just really sad that she died. She really was a great woman who loved to have fun and had a kind, beautiful spirit. And her death reminded me of how I’ve already been struggling like I’ve expressed here before, with the number of people I know or know of, that have died since the beginning of 2020. Just last week, one of my coworkers buried his daughter. 2 days before her funeral, his Dad died. I didn’t know his daughter and Dad personally, but he’s talked about them over the years we’ve worked together. Those deaths weren’t as painful for me as others have been, but I felt really bad for my coworker. A couple weeks before that, there was yet another funeral for a former coworker that I knew for 20 years. I’d stopped talking about all that here because it’s so depressing, but people kept/keep dying anyway.
I’ve cried so much today that I had to take my contact lenses out and wear my glasses. And I’m still crying.
I feel kinda lost, and don’t know what to do with myself.
