I saw where they released the 2025 tax brackets and standard deduction amounts today which I hope will help with next year's Fed tax (Texas doesn't have state income tax)

MISTER could start the crockpot and assemble the casseroles. It's his kiddo. Once again, it falls on Pink? Of course, but you mentioned not eating until 9 pm. What time I eat is irrelevant. Again, why doesn't Mister start the crockpot and assemble the casseroles? Pink works two jobs and has health issues.

In today's nut saga, she called teen and said I got you a psychiatrist appointment on Fri at 1 via telehealth as you like it. Just have "that woman" drop you off at this library and I'll pick you up and you can do the appointment from our house. To which teen said I'm NOT doing that.
Took teen to school at 9 and she disassociated in the parking lot so we came home and I've been on safety watch again. Of course nut also had to point out how much school teen is missing again.
Then social worker called me back and said nut is hell bent on going back to very original dentist via walk-in appt so we should be prepared to comply. Great, let's miss more school and work so she can pull another stunt and get us nowhere.
Apparently nut has been blowing up social worker's phone threatening to send the police my way and social worker got fed up and called her bluff and said do it. Gee thanks for all your help lady.
And social worker is no longer making calls about the tooth bc of nut's new plan. Meanwhile social worker is working with her supervisor on how to handle nut. I told her about psych appt demand and she said oh great and good grief but wouldn't say if I'd be in trouble if I don't make teen go. Fun times.

I don’t have any good advice for this situation, just moral support and appreciation for everything you are trying to do for BT. Out of respect for the boards, I will not express the profane things I think about nut, and out of respect for BT, I will not make any suggestions for dealing with nut, especially since none of them are legal anyway.

So the lowest I will receive is $111. The big difference for me when I claimed it was that my Part B premiums are paid out of my gross SS, so I am no longer billed for it. I never see this money so I don't notice I paid it. I don't want to get political but in today's world I think it should be all mail in voting. The technology exists to do it safely. Several states have proven that.

Do you have a crockpot? You could start it in the morning before you leave for work. or, you could assemble a casserole and put the baking instructions on it - Bake at 350* for 50 minutes, etc. I have to be realistic and not commit to something I already know is unlikely to happen consistently. So, while those are good ideas, I won’t tell Mister that I’m going to do that. If I do it sometimes, good, I just don’t want there to be the expectation. That is a sign that my therapy is working lol. Mister use to do most of the cooking. He can get back to that and some other things he use to do around the house. There is also another young adult in the house that can pitch in and help with some things. I threw my cape away, I’m not interested in trying to do everything myself, when I don’t live by myself. I can cook on my days off work. Mister can cook on weekends (his days off work, I work weekends). That leaves us 3 days to figure out. I am sorry, but I literally LOL'd at the bolded. I know what you are saying, but would that really work in practice? And I would imagine that kiddo would go back to mom's on the weekends.

Of course, but you mentioned not eating until 9 pm. What time I eat is irrelevant. Again, why doesn't Mister start the crockpot and assemble the casseroles? Pink works two jobs and has health issues. But you do not work or have to take care of small children, who need dinner before 9PM when they have school the next day. A lot of places in the US means that kids have be up by 5AM to catch a school bus. Our local elementary school kids get on the bus at 6AM. A lot of those kids end up eating breakfast at school - which has to paid for by the family. Not to say that Mister can't do it, but Pink Cashmere also posted that she was planning to start menu planning anyway. They together should build a plan.

I had a sign made for the front window of the house. It says in case of fire a disabled person and, her name, lives here along with 2 kitties. Also dad and mom lives here too. I feel like that is important. We live in a fairly heavily wooded area and could have a forest fire.
We did not get much painted, arches, front entry, display area over fire place. Tomorrow I'm doing white sections and windows. We were going to today but got late.
I need to do some paperwork tonight and organize more stuff.
Have not shown either house for some time. Within 10 minutes 2 calls from both realtors. Someone very interested in one up here, wanted to talk with park manager and they have seen it. Showing our house in Indiana Friday I believe. Crossing all my fingers at least one sells, will take a load off us having to maintain them. I really want to sell the one up here and get rid of that $730 a month lot rent, YES!

I know what you are saying, but would that really work in practice? And I would imagine that kiddo would go back to mom's on the weekends. No need for an apology. It’s going to have to work, one way or another. I’m not sure I want her cooking anything for me to eat. I’m lying, I DON’T want to eat anything she cooks, because I don’t trust her. But she can cook for her, Mister and Kiddo if he’s here. And she can help with household chores. Mister must have said something to her about the kitchen, because she’s cleaned it a few times while I was at work. But there are more things to be done in the common areas of the house, besides the kitchen. Mister made a few comments yesterday and the day before, that make me think he might be getting frustrated with her. Even if Kiddo isn’t here on weekends (he’s currently here every other weekend) if I’m responsible for dinners on my days off work, Mister can do the same on his days off work (weekends). That’s pretty much what we’ve been doing anyway, I guess I should’ve mentioned that at first lol. That really only leaves 3 days to sort out. Over the last several months, we got into the habit of often ordering food instead of cooking. When it was just the 2 of us, I paid for it sometimes, and he paid for it sometimes. That got even more expensive (for Mister) after YD didn’t go back to college. So we need to go back to cooking anyway, for several reasons, whether Kiddo gets added to the mix or not.

I would love to see mail-in voting be standard too, but our Houston postal service is so inadequate it would scare me. 15-20 days from New Jersey to Houston is the new norm for 1st class, with much not ever arriving.

I don't mind in here. If something happened she would be more likely to answer. I did think about it before having it made.

Did you ever get the tenant out of the Indiana rental so you can get that on the market too? I remember you talking about eviction and I know the process takes a bit of time and a bit of $$ too

Morning all. Going to be a long week at work. My boss is on a well-deserved vacation. Found out this morning that the new person we hired is leaving our department effective today, so my workload just went back up. Oh well. Did not sleep well. Bring on the coffee. (Was so tired this morning I started cooking breakfast before I started the coffee.) How long was the person there for? That stinks that your workload went back up. New employee started September 30, 2024. This was a new position, so everyone had their workload reduced a bit. We all went back to where we were before the new employee started. I am trying to look at the bright side - we still have time to get hire and train someone before another co-worker goes on Maternity leave (Hopely not until March. trained before one of my co-workers goes on maternity leave.)

House cleaners are amazing wonderful people. I don't know why I've gone so long without.
I'm also annoyed. There were 2 items I asked dh to handle and he agreed - 1 is getting ds permit which takes weeks to schedule - but I didn't get them on the calendar and dh double booked himself. Yes I should have put them on the family calendar but he had the info too and could have added it. Considering I did everything to get us here, and I confirmed the appointment with him and then emailed it to him. Then our therapy appointment is that day too and dh is certain I said I'd cancel it but I'm certain I didn't. I didn't make his all day plans that conflict so why would I cancel it? And that was on the calendar. There's nothing I could miss on that.

Well, the plot thickens. Aunt G did reach out to brother and tell him she needs him to sign some papers for her to sell her house, but would not tell him exactly what she was asking him to sign. She has made it her business to not speak to brother in over a year, because she’s mad at him for calling her out on some of her mess while all that stuff was going on with his and Mister’s parents. But she can talk to him now lol. Brother also ended up talking to one of Aunt G’s neighbors, one of the people that have made it clear that they think Mister and his brother are pieces of shit for “not doing anything for their Aunt”. That was interesting to overhear, I’m pretty sure Mister would’ve gotten angry and shot off, but his brother prefers to be petty and say slick stuff with a giggle if you know what to listen for. I think what has happened is whoever is supposed to be buying the house, and I was correct, it is an “investor”, learned about their Mom being on the deed, and that is why Aunt G is calling them, but playing dumb about what’s she’s asking them to sign. As if they are dummies. I was also correct that Mister’s brother wants every penny he might be entitled to is she ever sells the house. Especially now that Aunt G has only called him after all of this time, just because she wants something from him, and he feels like she is trying to be slick. The point is not whether her plans have a chance of working, it’s that she is trying to get them to sign something that she won’t explain to them. So I get the impression that they aren’t going to explain to her that it’s probably complicated and they couldn’t just walk in and sign some papers if they wanted to, if partial ownership of the house became part of their Mom’s estate and then their Dad’s. Neither parent had a will, and neither estate has been settled. Honestly, Brother probably hasn’t even thought about that house and him possibly being a part owner. So she may have just opened a big can of worms by putting it on his radar. So now Mister is gone to sit down and talk with his brother. If neither parent had a will, Mister is not an executor, and he cannot sign anything as such. He would likely need to petition a court to appoint him as administrator of the estate (both estates). And then he can settle the estates which includes resolving the ownership rights in the aunt's house and getting what is due the estates to distribute to himself and his brother, if that is what is to happen. If his aunt does not sell the house because she can't squeeze them out, they should at least get the title in good order. I remember Mister was able to access some accounts (investment or banking or whatever) in which he and his brother were named beneficiaries. When beneficiaries are named on such accounts, they are not part of the probate process and don't require an executor or administrator to do anything; the beneficiaries just do the paperwork with the bank or entity holding the accounts. But this house mess, and Mister's parents' house, will require a proper appointment for Mister or anyone else to handle what needs to be done. It could be that the aunt has not been clear about what she wants the nephews to sign because she herself does not understand what someone else is telling her and is proceeding on the (potentially mistaken) understanding that the house is all hers.

Finally home. I've been cleaning all day and the painting is done. I'm going over in the evening tomorrow and Thursday to take small things and check on the house. Friday my cousin and his BFF are coming over to do some work. I scored a free section of fence since dad had Lowe's dollars. Yay! It will be put up on Friday. Dad and uncle are going to cut down the garden in the backyard and rip up the irrigation they had to it. I need to call about getting the ducts cleaned. After this weekend we'll be moved in and just need to unpack. I can't wait to turn the twins loose in the backyard. It's so great.

Good or bad, Mister is not interested in doing the work to settle either of his parents’ estates. By the time his Dad died, 7 months after Mister’s Mom died, Mister was exhausted from all the stress and pressure of trying to fix things for them, which had been going on for over a year by then. His brother needed the estates to be settled more than Mister did, so he gave his brother all the info he had and told his brother to handle it. There has been so much that I don’t remember myself, which accounts you are referring to that they were beneficiaries on. I’m not saying there weren’t accounts like that, I just don’t remember anymore. They were both beneficiaries on their Dad’s life insurance policy, I do remember that. Mister was on one of his Mom’s bank accounts, and the money in that account was actually his money, but he couldn’t access the account after she died. I’m not sure exactly how the account was set up, but going by something that happened in the past it seems like somehow his Mom was primary on the account, and he couldn’t access the money in it without her, even while she was alive. Which I know sounds odd, but a lot of things were odd. Their Mom was on everybody’s bank accounts, even after the sons were married, but nobody was on any of her bank accounts, not even her husband. She handled Mister’s brother’s finances, personal and business, even when he was married, and when he was a very successful entrepreneur. Which is part of the reason he has no clue about finances today, now that he doesn’t have the kind of money he use to have, to just throw money at any problem that came up. Anyway, I do agree that they need to do whatever needs to be done to get the title on that house in order, period. FWIW, I think their Aunt knows exactly what’s going on. It’s been clear in the past that she knows that she and her sister both inherited the house. Even though she does a lot of irresponsible and stupid stuff, she has always struck me as someone of at least average intelligence. I think she is doing what a lot of people that have known “children” all their lives do, think they can treat those “children” like children, even after they are good and grown.

I'm so glad the work is progressing and YAY for free fencing. Hint for gray toilet aka lime build-up, push as much water out of the bowl with a toilet brush as you can and pour in ordinary vinegar, let sit for as long as you can. Makes it easier to clean with a pumice stone as vinegar dissolves lime

I finally got around to making pozole today, mostly bc the ribs were dated today and I just couldn't punt it again. so I started the pork boiling when we got back from a midday adventure, and have been babysitting the pot all afternoon during my hell production call. I'm back outside for the end of my work day. I get to shred a report that I'm supposed to sign for, but it's seriously lacking. I know, soon to no longer be my problem. but it's that bad. I was sitting on the deck having a post painting beer with dad and uncle when you texted me. I told them about you being a fiend. They thought it was great.

the only time I have ever waited that long was 2020 during COVID, and that was bc everything was so spaced out that it limited how many people could vote at any given time. but, for some areas (especially in areas the GOP has tried to gerrymander) that's a cakewalk. GA actually had a law on the books that made it illegal to provide food and drinks to people waiting in line to vote. Last I knew, there was a movement to overturn he law, but idk where it stands now. Anyway, all that to say that long lines happen, more than people are aware of. esp if we don't have that where we live. We can bring our own water and food here, but no one can give us water or food. The electing of judges all the way from the State Supreme Court down to the Justices of the Peace in a HUGE county makes for a very long ballot every four years. It's been very helpful here that we can now vote anywhere in the county, not just in the area closest to our home, so if there's a polling center near your office or next to the grocery store, you can use that too. It doesn't matter so much to us, but it's a real help for those who are still working or in school. That's crazy. Here I'm in and out in a few minutes. F Greg Abbott.

Apply cleaner and scrub.

I think they need lime away or something. Actually, both of them need Jesus.
