soup, they were saying at my primary visit, I needed to get it. So its for tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (whooping cough). They said before 2005 there was no booster shots for whooping cough, I don't know about diphtheria. We take whatever is recommend, I know we haven't had the last 2 in many a year. DD is recommended too and I will get it for her. We both are due for mammograms soon too. Hubs got his new drivers license last week and today got his ballot in the mail! That's quick. Thanks! It is good to know that it wasn't an urgent care requirement as my primary does NOT recommend it. I get tetanus only if I have to go in for a wound which I haven't had to do in decades. Interesting...why is your PCP against it?

My hubs has been doing little things to help me. Sometimes I will have a pile of clothes on the bed and go in and they are folded, he will tease me and say the folding fairy has been here. Or will change DD's bed for me. He fixes DD's breakfast a lot of times and also she and little guys. I hope he is with me a long time. We spent so much time apart with him working that this is really nice. We can spend a few hours alone at times. I know she is safe here.
We went to the doc early this morning and stopped by the capital at a restaurant down there and had pastries, coffee, and tea, just so different for us. We were still back home and brought her something in a couple of hours.

Good morning, intent, intentional invisipeeps, cleaning homes and decorating and raising children and husbands. Welcome to Tuesday. I hope this day is good to you. I hope all your efforts are rewarded. I hope nothing pees in your Cheerios. Today I'm going to bake a cake, drive an hour each way to pick up a handmade quilt I won that an old friend made, frost said cake and go out to eat for DH's birthday after which we'll have--cake! Also need to mail some images of DH's to places where they'll be displayed. He received recognition in a couple more contests out of state and they each need to get the pieces for exhibition. Yesterday was a day of errands run and bills paid. The sun did rise bright to the rocks on the beach:

Morning all. Going to be a long week at work. My boss is on a well-deserved vacation. Found out this morning that the new person we hired is leaving our department effective today, so my workload just went back up. Oh well.
Did not sleep well. Bring on the coffee. (Was so tired this morning I started cooking breakfast before I started the coffee.)

I didn't get a relaxer for today. I should have gotten a relaxer for today.
I don't know how I did this before.
I still can't feel it. DH will be here. So that is something.

If you have not had DPT in that long, I do recommend you get it…..to at least protect you from pertussis. I caught pertussis as an adult. It wasn’t so much that I was sick, but the cough that it caused fractured a couple ribs. I was 40. These days, they suggest you get DTaP, not just DT if you go to see new infants. Pertussis in them can be fatal, but pertussis in adults can make you pretty damn miserable. Other than fracturing a few ribs, every time I had a coughing fit, I wet myself…..and not just a little. It got to the point where I was taking a second set of clothes to work, just in case. I also had whooping cough as an adult and it was awful! That cough was no joke. I was a drooling, whooping mess. I had gotten the tdap booster before I somehow got whooping cough and I had a "less severe" case. Well it felt severe! DTaP is for young kid, Tdap is for adults and older kids. Long story that I won't tell now, but I also had whooping cough as an adult. I suppose it wasn't a bad case, but gosh it was weird. After talking to a nurse from our state health department, our whole family had to take this medication. I remember I felt just awful from that medication.

Hopefully I'll be getting the Tdap on Wednesday at my physical. I'm going to be annoyed if they don't have it. I'm definitely due. And I'm not here for getting sick from preventable crap.
DH found a job to apply for. I don't know why the federal government has to overcomplicate the resume and hiring process.

Interesting...why is your PCP against it? He only recommends TDAP and RSV for those having close, regular contact with children such as grandparents, teachers and daycare workers. It’s a matter of exposure I guess

There is the TdaP and then there is another one that is just Tetanus pertiussis I believe. You don't need TdaP if you had your childhood vaccinations unless you are a boomer and then you might because depending on when you were born you didn't get the third shot. Very early Gen Xers might need one too. You need Tetanus and pertussis every 10 years. Which reminds me I need a booster because the last one I got was when Abby was born. I couldn't remember when I had the last one and it was free as part of post natal care so why not? I had to have an updated one on file to be able to work in the animal facility. I also had to have my Hep A and B on record. I only had two of those so I end up having to do a titer every time. Still have antibodies. Same with chicken pox. Man I went round and round with that EH nurse about the vaccine. I got chicken pox naturally when I was 9. The chicken pox vaccine came out in 1995. I already had naturally immunity at that point. No they were not going to just give me the shot anyhow I already had natural immunity to it! I kept telling her I was born in 1983 no it was not "required" for me to go to school because it didn't exist! Finally an older nurse told her to do a dang titer. Bob runs into the same problem because he was two when I gave it to him. 3 years too early for the vaccine.

Wanted to mow the backyard, but overnight/morning rain has left it too wet out there for now. So I cleaned bathrooms and laundry is underway. I hope to mow later, if the lawn dries out a bit.

So our county was officially declared a disaster due to the flooding. My house is a wreck and all the flood remediation companies are booked, of course. Maybe more will come into town. Anyway, we spent the last two days removing mud from inside. I finally slept well last night, but woke up this morning to find one of the pets peed in the bed. They've all been wigged out since the flood, so I'm not going to be upset. This is overwhelming.

I have a lot of empathy for flood victims having been through it numerous times, but I've never had to deal with an intrusion of mud in addition to water. That sounds absolutely horrible.

Bob runs into the same problem because he was two when I gave it to him. 3 years too early for the vaccine. I had mumps, chickenpox, and both types of measles before vaccines were available so I'm taking a chance on residual immunity. I did get the polio vaccine several years ago as my mother would not let me get it as a child, and polio is on the increase again. My go-to vaccines are season flu and Covid annually, pneumonia every 10, and tetanus if I have an injury (so I've probably had that in the last 10 years or so).

I've joked that I've done so many titers at this point between jobs and pregnancies I am surprised there are any antibodies still left in my body. Polio and the MMR were required vaccinations for school. I had no record of my third MMR so they made me get another one before I could start at UNMC back in the dark ages. Chickenpox is usually lifetime immunity. I had to prove I actually had it though otherwise they would have poked me. Anyone can say they've had it. It was that she just could not grasp that someone was old enough to not have had the vaccine that annoyed me. Course she was the same one that couldn't' grasp my full vaccination records from 1983 were not something that could just be emailed to her. I finally told her they were in a warehouse somewhere (true) guarded by top men. It would take them up to a month just to figure out if they even still had them.

Welp, I disproved a family story over the last few days. It was one I never questioned. But the records don't lie.
We were told my uncle was FDR's personal secretary during WWII. How could he do that and be at sea? President's don't use military people for their secretary. They hire civilians.
I also realized I never heard my uncle tell the story. It was only told by his brothers.
There also was never a photo of him with FDR that I saw. If I had been the secretary to the President, I would be displaying a picture in my home, the home he shared with Grandma. I think Grandma would have bragged about it.
I don't think it's true and I'm disappointed to find this out.

No chicken pox vaccine, no practicum. Ironically enough, I had just had an argument with my insurance company about paying for the shingles vaccine. I had 2 friends, very close to my age just come down with shingles and THAT was my concern, not chicken pox. My insurance company balked at paying for shingles, so I finally agreed to have the chicken pox vaccine. In my brain, I thought it might have given me a bit of protection from shingles until I finally aged into that vaccine (and that sucker at the time was $350!). I had a titer too, plus a scar in the middle of my forehead. What they only accepted was medical records……which would have been 50 years old!

It's done. Modern medicine is really a wonder when you think about it. Like. My boob was compressed in the breeze, while I was laying down. And then were able to get the biopsy right there. I even managed to make a joke. And the nurses were lovely. Held my hand when I needed it.
(And, I always feel like I need to say this. If you read my posts, Arch- I am sorry. It's a lot of tmi about my chest.)
I've been mentally assuming I have cancer to get myself ready to get in and just deal with it.
Really the anticipation is the worst.

Wishing you all the best giramomma . How long will you have to wait for the results? I should hear by the end of the week 2-5 business days. Could be next monday the latest. I took today off. I'm bored. LOL. I'm not supposed to do vigorous work. Which, of course, I want to go out and clean the yard.

Hoping you get good news on your Biopsy Giramomma. Hoping you can convince yourself to relax - maybe find something to watch on Netflix?
