Good morning, you beautiful (invisible) people of Y Ma'am. Welcome to Sunday. I hope your day is smooth and easy and your Sunday sundae is exactly what you hunger for. This is a quick drive-by post since I woke with a headache after yesterday's party. It was fun but I'm not used to drinking at all. Three glasses of wine over 3 hours did me in. I'm a lightweight except when it comes to ice cream, of which there was none at the party. DD brought absinthe cupcakes which also packed a wallop. This is yesterday's early pre-dawn at the beach:

So I guess Aunt G’s house is titled in a way that she can’t just sell it by herself. She called Mister and told her she’d just learned that she needs him to come to the closing and sign some papers. That could only be because of his Mom. If thats’s the case, what about Mister’s brother? Well, she’s not talking to him, so she hasn’t said anything to him about it. Well, if she needs Mister’s signature, she also needs his brother’s, so good luck with selling the house without talking to him. She told Mister if he signs the papers, she’ll give him $2k, the $1k she owes him, plus an extra $1k. Ummm, the brothers also own the house, does that not mean they are entitled to part of the proceeds from the sale? Which is a lot more than $2k, while she’s making it sound like she’d be doing him a favor by giving him $2k lol. Mister’s brother is definitely going to want h whatever he is entitled to, since he ran through the insurance money from their Dad a long time ago. And how does any of that even work, since their Mom’s estate was never settled? I’m not really looking for answers to all those questions, the only energy I have for that mess, is just curiosity. I’m not trying to help figure it out, I don’t care how it turns out, as long as she doesn’t end up living with us. She has no plan, nothing in place for her to move to, and she’s supposed to close in less than a month. I don’t see that actually happening, but I also don’t understand any of her thought processes regarding the whole thing. The only thing I told Mister was that knowing her, she probably doesn’t have insurance on the house (he agreed), and that can become a problem for him if anything happens. I told him that between her, him, and his brother, he is the only one with some money, so if somebody gets hurt or whatever on the property, he’s gonna be the one they go after, so he needs to protect himself. I swear I couldn’t make up all this crazy shit that goes on around me, if I tried. Wouldn't her realtor have figured all that out before posting a listing? At the very least I would think they would have pointed her in the direction of someone who can help.

We've had a lot of abnormal monetary things the last few months. Some of it is big house expenditures that we've agreed to pause for awhile. I took a 15% paycut when I changed jobs. Then when I changed jobs, I had more directed to my retirement counts than I had been. Plus, I went from a once per month paycheck to an every-other-Friday paycheck. At this point, I think my the monthly total of new take-home paycheck is 60% of my previous job's take-home paycheck. I went from once a month for 20 years to every other Friday. It took me like 3 years to get used to it. I feel you on the rest. Though. I took my new job in august. I won't know what things really look like until January at least. The only good news is that I might really be able to retire at 57 and then work 10 hours or so a week. We had do to do a high level net worth exercise and we've hit the two comma club just for retirement. Its all on paper but I think I'm feeling like well have enough. Which is a good feeling.

I have a debilitating sense of rejection; kind of like “I just know everyone hates me”. I also have a terrible lack of work-life boundaries. There fore, I posit this email for discussion. How would feel receiving this email? Have you ever sent an email like this? My original email was asking for a link to join a court hearing virtually. The email went to three people. Person A responded with the link. I replied all with “Thank you!” Person B responded with this: Good Morning, Chloe: When replying to others for things like this, it would be greatly appreciated if you would refrain from using the “reply all” feature. Myself and the attorneys get hundreds of emails every day, and it slows us down having to review and delete others “reply all” emails that say “thank you” or “I will be attending” etc. Appreciate your assistance and cooperation on this. Have a great day! Best regards, Did the other folks know that person A gave you the link. If the link email was to all three, then I'd just roll my eyes and lesson learned. I dunno. I went from an environment where we used teams to one where you are emailed to death, and no you can't keep up. That also will go on my list of improvements for my job.

And yes, I do ask about preferred communication methods when I am dealing new people at my job.
My skill set is one that's needed and a lot of folks don't have at my workplace. Everyone wants to do things the hard way. I dont.
Being the newbie with new ideas, that can cause friction. So to help me learn culture quickly I asked quite a bit about preferred communication.
Mostly I just didn't want to piss people off right away.

Would anyone like a pair of dogs? The twins woke me up at 4 am barking at god knows what. They're free to a good home.

I love that bunker.

It's absurd and it's followed by several reply alls to tell people to stop doing it. It depends on how many people were involved. If it's 5, I don't care. If it's a large group, I don't ever use reply all. I also hate that the person in charge of my high school class doesn't know how to use BCC. I shouldn't be seeing all of the class members actual email addresses.

At first glance I thought it was auto correct for pork rinds and was trying to envision pozole made with those instead of ribs Of course, I did see chipotle pork rinds at the store the other day

Did you guys know wine glass charms were a thing? I went to TJ Maxx yesterday and saw some. They're little rubber cats that are different colors. Under the cat's chin is a groove where it fits on the rim of the wine glass. So you can tell which glass is yours by the color of the cat on the rim. They were so cute. Naturally I bought them.

Never touch the stuff. I wish they had more than one box of them, I'd have bought at least two. This new house has tons of party space which is what I wanted. I'm gathering up things here and there so I can have some big parties after winter.

So it looks like I might live. Breathing a huge sigh of relief.
I woke up Friday morning with a really sore ankle. It was on the inside, and was not only painful to weight bearing, but to touch too. Yesterday was baaaaaaad. I kept it elevated, iced, heated and NSAIDs on board. This was not good as I’ve got friends visiting next week and I had visions of giving them my car keys and letting them go without me. Even last night when I went to bed, the weight of the covers hurt. Game plan was that if it wasn’t any better by Monday, I’d call the doctor and get seen.
Luckily this morning, while it’s still tender it does not hurt near as bad as yesterday, or even Friday. Best I can come up with is that there is some sort of tendinitis in the tendon that runs in that area. Usually it is seen in runners, and I do NOT run. I’m not sure what caused this, no new shoes, I didn’t twist my ankle or step wrong.

Ugh, woke up in the wee hours with a migraine. Am now hiding upstairs where it’s quieter and darker. Took excedrin and am hoping it works. If I wasn’t able to lay down for a while, I’d have to take a zofran.

Being somewhat amused. DH doesn’t care so I have to share here.
A chain lingerie store’s location on Google Maps has the correct address but it is showing the location as part of the Catholic Diocese’s offices 2 blocks away.
How does that happen?

A chain lingerie store’s location on Google Maps has the correct address but it is showing the location as part of the Catholic Diocese’s offices 2 blocks away. How does that happen? You don’t want to know where Google Maps took us in Ireland! We were looking for Slieve League Cliffs and they sent us on a cow path. I had to get out of the vehicle to open and close gates. We got to the parking lot and it turned out to be a pretty advanced hiking trail, with a long list of do’s and don’t. Yeah, that’s not where we wanted to be! We verrrrry carefully backed up (to avoid going over the edge) and made our way back down the path. Had we gone about 100 yards further before we turned off, we’d have seen the sign for the cliffs. In Cork, they wanted us to turn down a clearly marked pedestrian path. No cars allowed. We drove around in a circle twice before we realized where it was telling us to turn. The funny part about all of this was TD and I were talking about how people follow Google Maps, assuming they’re right. Some have gotten stranded and died. Yeah….I now see how that happens.

I am sick again. It doesn’t feel like my regular sinus crap even though I am congested. My ears and teeth don’t hurt, but my head and throat do off and on, and my body aches. I am also coughing a little, and I just feel really bad.
I didn’t consider until this morning that I was on 4 airplanes, on the San Antonio trip, and that even though I wore a mask, I might have still caught something. I sat with the same couple from here on all the flights, and the wife insisted she and her husband wear masks also. We were the only 3 people on all the flights, with masks on.
Dammit! I took the last of a course of antibiotics for a sinus infection the day before we left, and I did feel better. Now I’m sick again.
I’m calling my Doctor tomorrow morning for an appointment. I’m supposed to take my Mom to look at that apartment tomorrow, and idk what to do about that now, since idk if I’m contagious. I definitely do not want her to catch whatever I have if I am contagious.
It’s been 1 thing after another or 2 or 3 things, for so long now. I feel okay mentally, which I am grateful for, besides being bummed about feeling like shit again.

The only thing standing between DH and a slow, painful death is Amazon which will deliver crap tomorrow that he spends way too much time looking at online while I am working my rear off. I had to loudly realign his priorities twice this afternoon and will not hesitate to do it again.
