It looks like everything might fit in my small suitcase. I’ve come a loooong way from how I use to pack, even though I still have too much stuff lol. But at least it’s not the large suitcase busting at the seams. Y’all have no idea! So yayyyy me!
That suitcase is small enough that it could be a carryon, but I don’t to have to drag it through 4 airports, so I’ll check it and just have my backpack as a carryon.
Somehow I am missing a medium size suitcase. I realized it was missing when I was looking for it this spring. Idk when it disappeared or how, but I’m not crazy (well, not that kind of crazy) and I KNOW the set I had was 5 matching pieces, 3 suitcases….. small medium and large…. a bag and a whatchamacallit for toiletries.
Anyway, I’ve gotten enough done that I am finally done for the day. I may or may not clean the kitchen before I go to bed. Probably not, since I am feeling rebellious and I didn’t use the dirty pots and pans. I haven’t cooked in days and nobody has cooked anything to share with me.

I am sitting on the deck trying to unwind before I go to bed. Mister is also on the deck, smoking a cigar. We have not said 2 words to each other since I came out, which is fine with me. It is not an angry silence, he’s doing his thing and I’m doing mine.
The lights the deck guy suggested we put on top of the posts, was a good idea, I like the ambience. We still have not put most of the stuff back on the deck. I don’t care. The torches with citronella fuel that were attached to the old railing, and the string lights I had, I mostly only ever used when my grandchildren were here and we were hanging out on the deck after dark. Because I work weekends, they don’t spend as much time here during the school year, as they can during the summer.
I am going to play on my IPad for a few more minutes, then I’m going in and do my night time stuff. I hope you all have a good night.

zibazinski , if you can let us know that you have successfully completed your quick in and out of Tampa visit that would be really good. What I am reading about the area is scary shit. Stay safe

I tried making a little earring decorated Christmas tree with some of the pairs I got in that gigantic lot.
I think it looks cute. DH and Abby aren't impressed.
I am either going to surround it with my tiny nutcrackers or use it as the town center for my Dickens village.

JFC. DH is trying to pay health care premiums by phone (employer does not pay while on long term disability). He totally botched the last 4 of his social, was not even close, then had no idea how to read routing and account numbers. He is 45YO and this is not the first time, or even fifth time, that I've gone over the routing numbers. Well he did have a TBI at 18. I just didn't need to deal with this today. Trying. Not. To laugh. (Sorry, that's gotta be SO frustrating.) DH had better pray that he goes first, because I have all of the passwords on our accounts & credit cards. This is actually pretty much the only thing (his LTD) he has ever tried to handle on his own in regards to accounts. 99% of everything goes to my email, which DH has no idea how to access, and he has no idea how to login to anything (if he could even find the sites) - even his medical patient portal. When he is at urgent care I'm texting him his results before he gets them from the doc.

I traveled for nearly 5 weeks on the last trip out of my carry on. We took a second garment bag for our wedding clothes, but the only time the garment bag was out of the car was while we were in Waterford for the wedding. We never even bothered bringing it into any of the hotels. When we got to Dublin to fly out to Bordeaux, we sent it home as we didn't want to haul it around France with us for a few weeks. I did buy a box of laundry detergent sheets. We had a few places where we had access to laundry facilities so we could wash clothes. However, I really don't like trying to hand wash using them - I don't think they work as well.

Good morning, travelling and not invisipeeps, evaluating Prime Day bargains and EV's and other sources of power for household use here and in Europe. Welcome to Wednesday, a day like a middle child, often overlooked in favor of its more dynamically situated siblings. Wednesday's child is full of woe, they say. I say BS to that as a middle child. Anyway, I hope your day finds you staying safe and enjoying timely arrivals and departures for every adventure. Today will be a day. I absolutely must work on our website and sort things out for the shows this fall. We're going to Red Robin this evening for hamburgers with DD. I have a gift card from earned cc points to cover it. Tomorrow DD works a full day in Cambridge as the lead for staffing a flu shot on-site clinic at a company. So she'll be earning $$, a good thing. She's looking forward to it, also a good thing. Rats. I broke another nail, the fifth one in as many days. Yesterday the sun shone with a pre-dawn reddening of the clouds that was really nice:

I'm looking at ipads on primeday but I think they jacked the prices up. Ds asked for one so he can get sheet music digitally so it doesn't have to be an iPad but I'd like a good size screen. Im trying to come up with other things to shop for but the kids are being impossible. Lol. I saw a 9th gen one for $199. I personally am a fan of the refurbished devices on the apple website. Considering the over-ear airpods since DS doesn’t like earbuds-but man, $400 for headphones? It definitely gets harder as they get older and large pieces of brightly colored plastic are no longer sufficient for oohs and aaahs

I went to CVS this morning primarily to get DH's birthday card, and some baby powder, and whatever else needed to use the $5 off $20 coupon we got with our flu shots. Card selection was really poor, I found the baby powder but couldn't actually get anything else because it's all locked up in clear cases. Yes, hand lotion, toothpaste, cosmetics, shampoo, face cream, laundry detergent, almost anything you can think of, is behind locked doors and you have to wait a LONG time for anyone to open them. No browsing, no reading labels, just point at something when a salesperson shows up. I'm sad that this is what our society has come too. The CVS in downtown Louisville was like this last month. I was wondering if it was a place I should be in. I noticed when I walked in the Yankee candles were locked up. All of the alcohol was in a locked case or the bottles had a plastic lock thing on top. Over the speaker I heard that an employee needed to go unlock bodywash. I got my coke, snacks and travel size shave gel (the thing I forgot), paid and left.

Last night, Mister told me that some things are going to have to change when I get back after my trip I said “I’m glad you said that, because that’s exactly what I’ve been thinking”. That seemed to catch him off guard lol. I told him “you have a problem with me having issues that keep me from functioning like I normally would, but when I tell you specific things you can do to help me not have so many issues, nothing changes. I am NOT ever gonna be okay in a cluttered, dirty house with a bunch of negative energy. I’ve been waiting on this trip, to get a break from all the bs, and had already said we were going to have to sort some shit out when I get back.” I don’t think that went the way he thought it would lol. Other than the night my feathers for ruffled about the stupid nonstick pan, that’s probably the most I’ve said to him at one time in a month or so. I wasn’t bothered last night, I just said what I wanted to say and went on about my business. Stand your ground. I really hope it works out for you. I'll hide in the bushes if needed.

Yes! It was weigh in day at work and for the first time since 2019 I'm not in the obese category. I've still got a ways to go to not be considered overweight, but this is a big win. I've been working really hard at this since August 1st and lost over 10% of my body weight. Cut Diet Pepsi consumption in half, went from no water to 50-60 ounces a day. No fruits and veggies to 7 servings a day. No exercise to trying to get at least a couple mile walk in every day and a more of a workout hike at least once a week. I need to shake things up though because I've been kind of stuck at the same weight the past couple weeks.
Yay! Congrats! I celebrated with my first ice cream since July. Probably should have just gone to DQ or something instead of bringing a whole quart and a half home though.

Feeling relieved bc I finally got my boss to understand that I'm not going to be able to lead a key project with yearend deadline. I've been very transparent with him about what's going on with teen and have asked for add'l resources for project each of the last 3 weeks but he kept saying hold onto it. This morning I said you have to assign someone else bc there is no end in sight of my home mess. I'm juggling every work ball except this one and it's tedious mortality calculations that I just don't have brain power for.
Today is a big day with one month follow up at psychologist for teen to continue to learn coping skills for seizures. Unfortunately we have to face bio nut to get through it. Nut has blocked me from talking to psych and psych from talking to me. So I'll be sending teen in with a printout of seizure timeline, concerns, questions AND the medical consent for oral surgery. Praying this doc can sign off on the anesthesia and if not, maybe she knows who can. If teen asks doc directly then nut can't block it.
She has started recognizing the signs and was able to predict one last night at my softball game. Managed to get her in the car beforehand and pull off the road while it happened. Two per day since Sun when nut resumed texting teen and all of us are on edge for this appt. I think she went along with me to softball in the first place bc she wanted me to be nearby.
On a lighter note, one of the questions for doc is if teen can/should go to haunted house. So much dark humor flowing from teen possibly becoming part of the attraction if she has an episode inside. Gotta keep laughing or I'll cry.

azucena. I'm still getting stuff for my grandma. Today her new Medicaid insurance card came in. I just put it in my file. I was nice and sent off her Medicaid paperwork because that is incredibly important and I don't trust this person to bother to get it. The rest of it though? Nah you can go ahead and fight for the Medicaid card on your own. They have all the paperwork they need to change the mailing address. The nursing home itself can do that because they had a tantrum that my dad was still getting mail for my grandma (joke is on them I live across the street so I'd just take it over there to review with him anyhow) and changed the address. They want this stuff bad enough they can do the proper leg work to get it. Nursing home asks I am going to tell them talk to the guardian they are supposed to be getting it all. I've told you twice now to take my address off shit and you aren't listening. You aren't going to revoke POA then sit on your ass expecting me to continue to do the work for you. You have no grounds from a legal standpoint to order me to do anything more.

Ok doc visit yesterday. He did prescribe some different allergy meds for me, so hope they work. Benedryl does seem to do better than most of the more expensive new meds out there. The eye itch is a real problem though, and drops seem to help best there. Blood test scheduled for tomorrow.

I honored my boundaries today, and walked away from my laptop when the "meeting" reminder popped up to go walk the pups at 1130am. I'd been ignoring that lately, and I no longer GAF unless something is literally on fire. we walked all around the park where finnime had her recent craft fair (the one I couldn't get anywhere near) and up the street a ways. I love the views from this street, it overlooks the beach and bay, and all of the boat slips. when there's no wind, the water is like glass. I also got word while we were out, that I've been selected to move on to the panel interview for Fridays phone screen. it would be on zoom, and the recruiter specifically said "camera on' so i need to answer him after I get off this 90min production call. the camera on my work laptop has never worked, and I haven't messed with it on my tablet. I'd have expected an in-person panel interview, so this is kind of weird. I don't intend to take this position if it's offered, but I would like the interview experience to help freshen up my skills there. Install Zoom on your Surface if you haven't already and start a meeting so you can practice making sure you have proper lighting and the angle looks good. Since we are now hybrid (only come in when I have to), some people can now live outside Philly metro, and we have some positions that are designated primary remote, all our interviews are on Zoom. I'm on an interview panel for a position in my department now and just had a Zoom with someone in NY yesterday. Get a laptop riser off Amazon if you don't have one, that will help keep your tablet at a good level.

Our mail yesterday was all Republican Campaign Stuff. DH took an unidentified caller call on his phone last night and it was the Democrats asking for $500.00. I guess they believe in asking for the moon. I said I was thinking about sending another contribution to Tammy Baldwin's senate campaign, but I thought they said Kamala's Campaign funding was pretty Flush? Finnime I have acrylic nails. I paid extra for the design on all my nails. Usually I can last 3 weeks. She brushed metallic stuff over my nail polish, and that stuff often chips. I don’t have anything going on except working on my taxes though. Once taxes are done we need to clean out the garage. My first forays into Acrylic Nails were nail repairs. Eventually I ended up with all acrylic nails. I know totally un-YM, but, empty nest allows for some indulgences. When I was younger I was scandalized by co-workers with acrylic nails.

My sister is directly in the path of Milton. Helene damaged her beach house and probably her house outside of Asheville (don't know for sure because they can't get there because the roads are gone). It did not affect her primary residence, although I think Milton will take care of that.
She also cannot evacuate, both she and her husband are doctors and need to be at work.
