The mountain lion is a gorgeous animal. They are, but this one is a bobcat. Much smaller...maybe 30-40 pounds.

DH found his keys. He does not have Dementia, he just is not consistent where he puts them when he comes in the door. They were in a grocery bag with a personal size watermelon. He had checked, as had I, but he jut had that key by itself, so it wasn’t making any noise.
I ordered a pair of shoes from macys, decided I wanted them a half size smaller. Macys did not have, so I ordered from Zappos. Zappos was about 10 more, but placed order anyways. Then Zappos asked me to link my Amazon account. I decided to check the Amazon price, and they were $13 cheaper, so now I am saving 5 from my price at Macy’s. Amazon owns Zappos.

Trying to cut back on caffeine today, as I sit here with my 3rd cup of Earl Grey tea.
I've had so much in the past four days I can see noises and taste colors.

DIL is back home, she said Texas was brutal. They went to the beach and her friend got stung or hit or whatever with a Portugese man of war, had to go to the ER. She said she was in horrible pain. Poor thing. They decided since it was going to get at least 98 next week and rather then have him come home to that he can stay another week. Fine with us, we have no problem with him staying. I keep telling son, I would not live up there without AC. But I understand son wants to get the house paid for, its worrying him I know. He has never owed money and it's more then we can help with this time. He could pay it off but it would deplete a great deal of his savings. Those things are truly awful. Ordinary jelly fish are bad enough, MOW are much worse. Even stepping on a small piece of one washed up on the sand is agonizing. I lived on Padre Island when I was young and we always had meat tenderizer in our beach bags as a first aid treatment. I'm glad you can enjoy your grandson an extra week I am curious, soupandstew, what is the first aid treatment using the meat tenderizer

Kiddo just told me again that his Mom says he can’t be outside for more than 10 minutes. He said the same thing yesterday. So I told him to go ask Mister if it was okay that he was still outside. Mister seems irritated that I told Kiddo to ask him that. Ummmm, I’ve had more than enough child and baby momma drama. I’m not going to just take it upon myself to dismiss and go against what his children’s mothers have stated as law. I’m going to bring it to him instead, and let him make decisions and proceed according to what he says, so the mothers can’t blame me. That is as far as rules strictly pertaining to the children. For issues that concern my household and how I run it, that is different, because I am the one and only Queen of my household. Does Kiddo have any genuine health issues related to outside exposure that you know of? Pollen allergies, asthma, heart condition making him unusually vulnerable to overheating, sun related skin issues? If he does, his mother should have provided Mister and you with clear info on the health issue and how to respond to it. FWIW, it sounds like momma drama that she's used to instill fearfulness into the poor guy and manipulate others. Just saying She tells Kiddo he has bad allergies. He’s played outside most of the day before when all the children were here. No complaints or issues afterward. I don’t think he goes outside to play at all at home. She tells him he’s allergic to dogs, but they live with a dog, and he stays in Newbie’s face when he’s here. I’ve never even heard him sneeze. And if his allergies were so bad, you’d think she’d make sure she sent allergy meds with him. She sends everything else, including soap, lotion, and food. We keep children’s allergy medicine here, just in case though. He hasn’t ever needed it that I know of. He is also “allergic” to any kind of even mildly spicy food. And some other stuff I can’t think of right now. Let her tell it, there’s always something wrong with him. She use to take him to the ER at least once/month for any little thing, but I think she’s stopped doing that now.

This is going to be a very busy week as I have volunteered for vacation bible school this week as well as going to lunch with a friend tomorrow. Yesterday at VBS I got so tired out that I slept over 11 hours last night.
I need to do laundry today and crack some peanuts for DH to feed to the squirrels.

I've definitely left my keys in the door overnight. on days that I'm not running the A/C and the side door is open all day long, I usually just leave the keys in the door when I get back from wherever. harder to lose them that way. so I just finally got the invoice from the tree company - I was not expecting the PD detail to come in at $1100. um, is that normal? I had two officers, and I believe there was a 4h minimum (the work didn't take the full 4h...).

I've never heard of a PD detail for a tree removal. Here the tree people set up cones and block whatever area of road they need.

I've helped out with VBS when my kids were little. It's fun, but I was always exhausted by the end of the week. God Bless our teachers, who deal with many kids for weeks at a time!

Here the tree people set up cones and block whatever area of road they need. if you saw my street, it wasn't a 'nice to have' situation. the bucket truck was parked in the road after a blind curve that everyone flies around. the officers actually told me at the end of the work that I could call the non-emergency line and request a speed trap setup. they were yelling at people all morning to slow TF down.

I'm not sure what normal rate is for PD doing work like that. One possibility is they didn't fill it from regular on duty officers and that it was offered up as an overtime shift. That could maybe explain why it didn't get filled on your original date. I agree that's a pretty steep addition to the bill.

oh, it's definitely not regular shift officers. but I kind of want to call the town and ask about rates now. the invoice from the tree company just shows it as a line item, there's nothing from the town. I knew it wasn't included in the rate, but that's another 1/3 of the total cost.

It helps, better than nothing until you could get to an ER. Supposedly it's the papain enzyme in the tenderizer that counteracts the toxin. They recommend mixing it with vinegar to make a paste but we never had vinegar. Some folks say it works on bee and wasp stings too ETA: We also used gloves if we had to change a tire because you couldn't avoid running over jellyfish on the shore

Yup, use it as a proverbial 2x4 to knock the person out until you can get them to the ER as I hear the pain is horrible

Atmosphere is everything. So is cost. I was in the best shape I had ever been in my life when I joined a gym that had an obscenely expensive membership (about 5% of my take home salary). I also paid each month, in person so my brain would associate that much money with the gym. In addition, those people were largely professionals, who went to look out and not a pick up joint. When I walked out, I looked like I had gone through the wringer…..and I had. I once heard an interesting Planet Money episode about the business models of gyms. Most operate on the same model as Planet Fitness, the last place I used. Only a tiny % of members actually use it regularly. They'd be overwhelmed if everyone who signed up used it several days a week. They keep the infrequent users with non-exercise features such as tanning beds, massage chairs and in the case of Planet Fitness, free pizza one day a month, free bagels another. The other is they type you describe- serious costs, committed users, sometimes even requirements that you be there regularly. I'd probably fit in there but (a) I'm too cheap and (b) I can't keep up with 30-something workout leaders even though I can do a lot more than chair yoga. I've found great on-line workouts and I think I'm in better shape than I was in the gym days.

So, DH has a problem with bringing home stuff he things is perfectly good and storing in our garage. I really want to park my car in the garage so I can charge it easier, but He has a desk and credenza that he wants for his office in there. When he brought it home he also brought 2 chairs that he thought were good, a printer and monitor that he brought to take to the for the lady, and a small refrigerator. Monitors and Freon appliances cost $15 to , not sure if he was considering that or not. But I took one chair to Habitat and one to the on Saturday. DH gave me the 3rd degree about why I used his truck and I did not tell him I took anything out of the garage. One would think he would know, because he uses his Mustang regularly and they were too close to his car for comfort. He works on Sat am - usually late into day and is only open until 3 pm. Habitat is also not open on Sundays, so we couldn't get there either. On Saturday when I realized he left the truck home, I decided I was going to make a run to the . I am not sure if he knew what I did and chose not to say anything, or if he has no clue.

Dad said mom is doing better. They are going to start weaning her off more stuff. She is aware he is there and has been opening her eyes.
