My son said on the windows, DIL had the same issue, he said she rewashed them he didn't know how many times before she could get them to stop streaking. It is clean air here so only thing I can figure is they haven't been cleaned in forever?? DH hired window cleaners to come to our house in AZ. I watched them work and guess what professionals use? Dawn dish soap and water. That's it. They used a microfiber towel to finish any smudges left by the squeegee. DH has a niece that worked at a truck stop. Guess what the stuff in the windshield washer stand is? Dawn dish soap and water. I think the smeary streaky stuff on the windows is car exhaust built up over time. Especially if the windows where the cars idle are the worst. I use 1/2 and 1/2 water and vinegar with a couple of tablespoons of Dawn to clean everything, especially windows

In this market that's like years. Houses have multiple offers on them the day they go live if they're good ones. So in your micro market area, what is the average selling time right now for a listing? Few weeks or months with more expensive up to 6 months Houses are very expensive maybe 4-9 times more than those posted in KC

A friend put on FB "I want a White House that honors God". I so wanted to ask her, "Since you never have honored God by following his alleged precepts", how would you know if they did or didn't?" She is in her 60's and her favorite flavor in men is still "married with large bank account" This is exactly why I don't have social media. I wouldn't be able to resist. I'd be beefing with everyone. One of my dad's brothers is all religified these days. The same man that has been married multiple times and has kids with multiple women. Yep, the same man that had his youngest two children with another woman while married to my aunt. I don't know why this saint of a woman is still married to that man. But tell me some more about Jesus.

DN3 had 3 full price offers in the middle of winter on a not nice house in Dubuque, Iowa. They accepted the all cash with no inspection offer and it was over.
The happened in one weekend on the market.
My little town usually has quite a few houses turn over in my neighborhood every summer. There have been very few even on the market in the last 3 or 4 years and they get snapped up immediately. One just went on the market last week. So we will see if it plays out the same way.

for real. this is why my parents are still in that damn hotel. they still don't actually have a letter from the bank to verify their cash balance to back up whatever cash offer they will submit. my mother was horrified when I told her to expect a bidding war, and to do all her homework up front and be prepared to put in an offer the day they view a house if they intend to. the last time they bought a house was 1986, things are a little different now. A current copy of their bank statement should satisfy a realtor enough to make an offer. Things do move fast in the real estate market these days.
We purchased the Nebraska house two years ago. We looked at the house on a Friday. Several other showings happened on Saturday. On Sunday, the sellers accepted offers of which there were 4 full price offers with no inspection. We had to pay $15,000 over asking price (which happened to be about what the seller's realtor commission was) to win the bidding war. We had been looking for 6 months and this was an above average property, so we went for it. Looking at comparable properties two years later, I think we did OK. she has no way to print that, she doesn't have an email account! FTR, my parents are 72 and 69 (on Thurs) they aren't *that* old. I've done all of their DMV transactions for a long time. something came up, maybe a registration renewal? while I was in Cancun for a week last spring. my email address is the tie to their online renewals, and I couldn't receive the verification text while in Mexico. I still don't know how they resolved it, but there wasn't anything I could do about it anyway.

this one's a little embarrassing - how do you unblock someone? I'm not seeing the option. I blocked someone this afternoon, with what I hoped was temporary, but I can't figure out how to unblock. I've seen the value of a block for mental sanity.

I don't often break, but there's only three active mods these days. I generally do my best to ignore people that make me crazy. the person I blocked, I've got no intention of unblocking. there's nothing positive that will ever happen if I unblock that one. but your tips worked, and I unblocked and will ignore that particular thread for tonight. after this morning's bullshit I posted about, I was responding with that anger tacked onto the (appropriate) anger toward the poster I blocked. that said, I noticed that I apparently also blocked phil at some point. lol.... fucking old white guys and their attitudes.

I'm waiting for a call back for our community association president to tender my resignation, effective immediately. At this point, I just can't stay in good faith. The treasurer actually wrote in a group text responding to why she wasn't answering questions from the board, "That would take all day". Nope, wrong answer, there are simply no grey areas in finances ever for me. Numbers never lie, only the people behind them

So in your micro market area, what is the average selling time right now for a listing? Did you even read the post you quoted? Yes. Because I don't know why your area is hot. It can be because of lack of inventory like Covid times. It can be a seller's market for many reasons. You obviously know your areas of KC. The fact that you believe only good homes get multiple offers on day one triggers me. I have been following and buying in the NJ real estate market from 1985 to the present. So almost 40 years. I was good enough during the last time I bought that I could predict with a high degree of accuracy the sell price and what it would appraise for. Can you? If so, I'm out of this thread and will entertain myself elsewhere.

Sometimes people make it so you have to go, and for that I am quite sad.

TD just got the downstairs carpets cleaned while DS is away. When we got the interior painted, we had talked about replacing the 24 year old carpeting. The painter told us that it’s very, very expensive carpeting and we’d not find anything that good out there today. He said it just needs a good cleaning. He was right, it looks like brand new carpeting down there now. No Costco run today, I picked up chicken thighs so TD could use his new smoker. Cole slaw and corn on the cob round out the rest of the meal. I stopped at Pure Bliss for dessert. You can buy a piece of cake by the slice. www.pureblissdesserts.com/menu

I just hope we get a bidding war on our house when we decide to sell one day. Actually, I hope to do private treaty with my neighbor who's buying up lots of houses for his family. I don't mind inspection and will just offer a repair allowance for any defects found. Not spending my days bird dogging contractors doing work.

I'm just so tired, we went to the house and took the cats. Was to be a showing here, don't know if there was or not, waiting for feedback.
I hustled to get it ready and went over there. I lay down and went to sleep for 2 or 3 hours. I just want to feel better and energized, just can't seem to do it.'
Need to fix dinner, it will just be spaghetti.

My grandma was 92 when she passed away last year and she had an email and Facebook accounts and used both to communicate with various friends and relatives.
My MIL used to have an email account but there's some story about her getting locked out when she went from a Samsung to Apple phone.

My grandma met her 3rd husband on an online dating site when she was 82! My mom and aunts are all WAY more techy than I am in their 70's, and I'm pretty up on things. I swear they are just competing with each other to have the latest and greatest in gadgets.

So DD1 was angling for me to buy her some books. So while I was gone, she informed DH she was going to ask me to take her to B&N.
I did not know this.
Yesterday, she asked if I'd take her to B&N. I said "Sure. Make sure you have a method of payment."
DH giggled and said to DD1 "ha! You've been foiled."
Suddenly, DD1 didn't want me to take her any more.
She said she'd go later, driving herself. I reminded her libraries exist. Nope. She needed to *own* her books.
Well. Not a mere 24 hours later, guess who is going to the library tomorrow?

I am so glad this heat/humidity wave finally broke. Carrot and I are working a big music fest on Friday and it would have been unbearable if it had been like last Friday. The forecast now is 70 degrees and no rain. Nice. By working it in the afternoon we don't have to pay $110 to get in so 80's obsessed Carrot can see Journey that night and they will put $80 in his band account to boot. It's a hard deal to pass up, but the crowds are insane. I hate that part.

Good morning, technologically proficient invisipeeps, comparing housing markets and misogynists and luddites in our worlds. Welcome to Tuesday. I hope this day offers you a good return for your efforts and that you continue healing from any and all ailments you may have been experiencing. I hope your pancakes are free of pee. Yesterday DD grabbed a spot that opened up at PT and she's feeling very encouraged now. The therapist told her he can work with her on walking differently than she has been doing. So that's good. She should be able to keep her job. DSis is bringing her dog this evening for us to keep until Friday, when we'll bring both dogs to her house before we load the car and head to Mystic. The weather forecast for Saturday in Mystic is pretty bad. Heavy rain, more rain and even worse, high winds. The organizers may make changes. It's a 2 day arts festival so I'm not sure what can be done except make it just 1 day. Should find out today. We should have a rainy day today. Yesterday the sun rose prettily in bright colors with a seagull accent:
